< John 13 >
1 And before the Celebration of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour has come, that He may depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who [are] in the world—to the end He loved them.
Ade rebɛkye ama Twam Afahyɛ no adu no, Yesu huu sɛ afei bere aso sɛ ofi wiase kɔ nʼAgya nkyɛn. Yesu yɛ obi a na ɔdɔ nʼakyidifo, na ɔdɔɔ wɔn kosii sɛ owui.
2 And dinner having come, the Devil already having put [it] into the heart of Judas of Simon, Iscariot, that he may deliver Him up,
Bere a na Yesu ne nʼasuafo te adidii no, ɔbonsam kɔhyɛɛ Yuda Iskariot a ɔyɛ Simon ba no mu sɛ onyi Yesu mma.
3 Jesus knowing that all things the Father has given to Him—into [His] hands, and that He came forth from God, and He goes to God,
Yesu nim sɛ nʼAgya de tumi nyinaa ahyɛ ne nsa, na ofi Onyankopɔn nkyɛn na ɔbae, na ɔresan akɔ ne nkyɛn.
4 rises from the dinner, and lays down His garments, and having taken a towel, He girded Himself;
Yesu sɔre fii didipon no ho, yii nʼatade nguguso guu hɔ, de mpepaho twaa nʼasen.
5 afterward He puts water into the basin, and began to wash the feet of His disciples, and to wipe with the towel with which He was being girded.
Ohwiee nsu guu guasɛn bi mu na ofii ase hohoroo asuafo no anan ase de mpepaho no pepae.
6 He comes, therefore, to Simon Peter, and that one says to Him, “Lord, You—do You wash my feet?”
Bere a Yesu duu Simon Petro so no, Petro bisaa no se. “Awurade, worebɛhohoro me nan ase ana?”
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “That which I do you have not known now, but you will know after these things”;
Yesu buaa no se, “Nea mereyɛ yi, worente ase mprempren, nanso akyiri no wobɛte ase.”
8 Peter says to Him, “You may not wash my feet—throughout the age.” Jesus answered him, “If I may not wash you, you have no part with Me”; (aiōn )
Petro ampene asɛm a ɔkae no so kae se, “Ɛnyɛ wo na ɛsɛ sɛ wohohoro mʼanan ase.” Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Sɛ manhohoro wʼanan ase a na wonka me ho.” (aiōn )
9 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.”
Simon Petro kae se, “Awurade, ɛno de na ɛnyɛ mʼanan ase nko, na mmom me nsa ho ne me tirim nso ka ho.”
10 Jesus says to him, “He who has been bathed has no need except to wash his feet, but he is clean altogether; and you are clean, but not all”;
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Obiara a waguare no aguaree ho nhia no bio gye nʼanan ase nko na ɛsɛ sɛ ɔhohoro, ne nipadua no de, efi biara nni ho. Mo nyinaa ho afi, gye mo mu baako pɛ.”
11 for He knew him who is delivering Him up; because of this He said, “You are not all clean.”
Na Yesu nim onipa ko a ɔrebeyi no ama no, ɛno nti na ɔkae se ɛnyɛ wɔn nyinaa na wɔn ho afi no.
12 When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, having reclined again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
Yesu hohoroo wɔn anan ase wiei no, ɔfaa nʼatade nguguso no hyɛe, san kɔtenaa didipon no ho. Afei obisaa nʼasuafo no se, “Mote nea mayɛ yi ase ana?
13 You call Me the Teacher and the LORD, and you say well, for I am;
Mofrɛ me ‘Kyerɛkyerɛfo’ ne ‘Awurade’ a mudi me frɛ; efisɛ ɛno ne nea meyɛ.
14 if then I washed your feet—the LORD and the Teacher—you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Sɛ me a meyɛ mo Awurade ne Kyerɛkyerɛfo no mpo ahohoro mʼanan ase a ɛno de, na ɛsɛ sɛ mo nso mohohoro hohoro mo ho mo ho anan ase.
15 For I gave to you an example, that, according as I did to you, you also may do;
Mayɛ eyi de ayɛ nhwɛso ama mo sɛnea mo nso mobɛyɛ saa ara.
16 truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor an apostle greater than he who sent him;
Mereka nokware akyerɛ mo se, akoa nsen ne wura; saa ara na ɔsomafo nso nsen nea ɔsomaa no no.
17 if you have known these things, you are blessed if you may do them;
Afei a moate nea meyɛe no ase yi, sɛ moyɛ saa bi a mubenya nhyira.
18 I do not speak concerning you all; I have known whom I chose for Myself; but that the Writing may be fulfilled: He who is eating the bread with Me, lifted up his heel against Me.
“Ɛnyɛ mo nyinaa na mereka saa asɛm yi akyerɛ mo, minim wɔn a mayi wɔn. Nanso ɛsɛ sɛ Kyerɛwsɛm a ɛka se, ‘Onipa a ɔne me to nsa didi no beyi me ama’ no ba mu.
19 From this time I tell you, before its coming to pass, that, when it may come to pass, you may believe that I AM;
“Mereka eyinom nyinaa akyerɛ mo ansa na aba mu sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a mubegye adi.
20 truly, truly, I say to you, he who is receiving whomsoever I may send, receives Me; and he who is receiving Me, receives Him who sent Me.”
Mereka nokware akyerɛ mo se, obiara a obegye nea masoma no no gye me nso, na obiara a ogye me nso no gye nea ɔsomaa me no.”
21 Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in the spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will deliver Me up”;
Yesu kaa eyinom nyinaa wiei no, ne ho yeraw no ma ɔpaee mu kae se, “Mereka nokware akyerɛ mo, mo mu baako beyi me ama!”
22 the disciples were looking, therefore, at one another, doubting concerning of whom He speaks.
Asuafo no de ahodwiriw hwehwɛɛ wɔn ho wɔn ho anim pɛɛ sɛ wohu nea ɔde no no.
23 And there was one of His disciples reclining in the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus was loving;
Na asuafo no mu baako a Yesu pɛ nʼasɛm no te ne nkyɛn pɛɛ.
24 Simon Peter, then, beckons to this one, to inquire who he may be concerning whom He speaks,
Simon Petro buu nʼani se, “Bisa no na ɔnkyerɛ wo onipa ko a ɔreka ne ho asɛm no.”
25 and that one having leaned back on the breast of Jesus, responds to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
Ɛno nti saa osuani no twiw bɛn Yesu bisaa no se, “Awurade, ɛyɛ hena?”
26 Jesus answers, “It is that one to whom I, having dipped the morsel, will give it”; and having dipped the morsel, He gives [it] to Judas of Simon, Iscariot.
Yesu buae se, “Nea mede brodo bɛbɔ mu ama no no, ɔno na obeyi me ama.” Na ɔde brodo bɔɔ mu maa Yuda Iskariot a ɔyɛ Simon ba no.
27 And after the morsel, then Satan entered into that one. Jesus, therefore, says to him, “What you do—do quickly”;
Bere a Yuda gyee brodo no pɛ, na ɔbonsam bɛhyɛɛ ne mu. Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Nea wopɛ sɛ woyɛ no, yɛ no ntɛm!”
28 and none of those reclining to eat knew for what intent He said this to him,
Wɔn a na wɔte adidii no mu biara ante asɛm a Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no no ase.
29 for certain [of them] were thinking, since Judas had the bag, that Jesus says to him, “Buy what we have need of for the celebration”; or that he may give something to the poor;
Esiane sɛ Yuda na ɔhwɛ asuafo no sika so nti, na wosusuw sɛ Yesu reka akyerɛ no se ɔnkɔtɔ biribi a ɛho hia ma afahyɛ no anaasɛ ɔnkɔma ahiafo biribi.
30 having received, therefore, the morsel, that one immediately went forth, and it was night.
Yuda gyee brodo no pɛ na ofii adi; saa bere no na ɛyɛ anadwo.
31 When, therefore, he went forth, Jesus says, “Now was the Son of Man glorified, and God was glorified in Him;
Yuda fii adi kɔe akyi no, Yesu kae se, “Afei na Onipa Ba no anuonyam ada adi; na Onyankopɔn nam Ɔba no so ada nʼanuonyam adi.
32 if God was glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself; indeed, He will immediately glorify Him.
Na sɛ ɛnam Ɔba no so na Onyankopɔn anuonyam da adi a, Onyankopɔn nso nam ne tumi so bɛda Onipa Ba no anuonyam adi. Ɔbɛyɛ eyi ntɛm so.
33 Little children, yet a little [while] am I with you; you will seek Me, and according as I said to the Jews, I also say to you now: To where I go away, you are not able to come.
“Me mma, ɛrenkyɛ biara na megyaw mo hɔ. Sɛnea meka kyerɛɛ Yudafo mpanyin no, mobɛhwehwɛ me nanso morentumi mma faako a merekɔ hɔ no.
34 A new command I give to you, that you love one another; according as I loved you, that you also love one another;
“Ahyɛde foforo na mede regyaw mo sɛ, ‘Monnodɔ mo ho mo ho sɛnea medɔ mo no.
35 in this will all know that you are My disciples, if you may have love one to another.”
Na sɛ mododɔ mo ho mo ho a obiara behu sɛ moyɛ mʼasuafo.’”
36 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, to where do You go away?” Jesus answered him, “To where I go away, you are not able now to follow Me, but afterward you will follow Me.”
Simon Petro bisaa Yesu se “Awurade, ɛhe na worekɔ?” Yesu buaa no se, “Faako a merekɔ no de, worentumi nni mʼakyi; daakye bi wobɛba abɛka me ho.”
37 Peter says to Him, “Lord, why am I not able to follow You now? I will lay down my life for You”;
Petro bisaa no se, “Awurade, adɛn nti na merentumi nni wʼakyi saa bere yi? Ɛyɛ owu mpo a, mewu ama wo.”
38 Jesus answered him, “You will lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you may deny Me three times.”
Yesu bisaa no se, “Woasiesie wo ho ampa ara sɛ wubewu ama me ana? Mereka nokware akyerɛ wo se, ansa na akokɔ bɛbɔn no, na woapa me mprɛnsa.”
