John 13
1 And before the Celebration of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour has come, that He may depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who [are] in the world—to the end He loved them.
W przeddzień święta Paschy Jezus wiedział już, że nadszedł Jego czas—czas odejścia ze świata do Ojca. Tym, których ukochał, chciał okazać miłość aż do samego końca.
2 And dinner having come, the Devil already having put [it] into the heart of Judas of Simon, Iscariot, that he may deliver Him up,
W czasie uroczystej kolacji diabeł zawładnął sercem Judasza (syna Szymona z Kariotu) i pobudził go do zdrady.
3 Jesus knowing that all things the Father has given to Him—into [His] hands, and that He came forth from God, and He goes to God,
Jezus wiedział, że Ojciec wszystko Mu powierzył. Wiedział również, że przyszedł od Ojca i do Niego odchodzi.
4 rises from the dinner, and lays down His garments, and having taken a towel, He girded Himself;
Dlatego wstał od kolacji, przebrał się, przepasał ręcznikiem,
5 afterward He puts water into the basin, and began to wash the feet of His disciples, and to wipe with the towel with which He was being girded.
a potem nalał wody do miski i zaczął myć uczniom nogi, wycierając je ręcznikiem, który miał na sobie.
6 He comes, therefore, to Simon Peter, and that one says to Him, “Lord, You—do You wash my feet?”
Gdy podszedł do Szymona Piotra, ten zawołał: —Panie, Ty myjesz mi nogi?!
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “That which I do you have not known now, but you will know after these things”;
—Teraz nie zrozumiesz tego, co robię—odpowiedział Jezus. —Ale później zrozumiesz.
8 Peter says to Him, “You may not wash my feet—throughout the age.” Jesus answered him, “If I may not wash you, you have no part with Me”; (aiōn g165)
—O, nie!—protestował Piotr. —Nigdy nie będziesz mi mył nóg! —Jeśli tego nie zrobię, nie będziesz do Mnie należał—odrzekł Jezus. (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.”
—W takim razie umyj nie tylko moje nogi, ale także ręce i głowę!
10 Jesus says to him, “He who has been bathed has no need except to wash his feet, but he is clean altogether; and you are clean, but not all”;
—Wykąpany nie musi się myć, bo jest już czysty. Wystarczy, że opłucze nogi. Wy jesteście już czyści—jednak nie wszyscy.
11 for He knew him who is delivering Him up; because of this He said, “You are not all clean.”
Wiedział bowiem, kto Go zdradzi. Dlatego powiedział: „Nie wszyscy jesteście czyści”.
12 When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, having reclined again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
Po umyciu im nóg Jezus z powrotem się przebrał, usiadł z nimi i zapytał: —Czy rozumiecie, co zrobiłem?
13 You call Me the Teacher and the LORD, and you say well, for I am;
Nazywacie Mnie „Nauczycielem” oraz „Panem” i macie rację, bo Nim jestem.
14 if then I washed your feet—the LORD and the Teacher—you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Skoro więc Ja, wasz Pan i Nauczyciel, umyłem wam nogi, to i wy powinniście czynić podobnie.
15 For I gave to you an example, that, according as I did to you, you also may do;
Dałem wam przykład, abyście postępowali wobec siebie tak, jak Ja.
16 truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor an apostle greater than he who sent him;
Zapewniam was: Sługa nie jest ważniejszy od swojego pana, a posłaniec—od tego, kto go posłał.
17 if you have known these things, you are blessed if you may do them;
Jeśli będziecie o tym pamiętać i tak postępować—będziecie szczęśliwi.
18 I do not speak concerning you all; I have known whom I chose for Myself; but that the Writing may be fulfilled: He who is eating the bread with Me, lifted up his heel against Me.
Nie do wszystkich jednak odnosi się to, co powiedziałem. Wiem bowiem, kogo wybrałem. Muszą się jednak wypełnić słowa Pisma: „Ten, który jadł ze Mną chleb, zwrócił się przeciwko Mnie”.
19 From this time I tell you, before its coming to pass, that, when it may come to pass, you may believe that I AM;
Mówię o tym już teraz, abyście—gdy tak się stanie—uwierzyli, że JA JESTEM.
20 truly, truly, I say to you, he who is receiving whomsoever I may send, receives Me; and he who is receiving Me, receives Him who sent Me.”
Zapewniam was: Kto przyjmuje mojego posłańca, Mnie samego przyjmuje. A kto Mnie przyjmuje, przyjmuje Tego, który Mnie posłał.
21 Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in the spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will deliver Me up”;
Potem, przejęty do głębi, powtórzył raz jeszcze: —Zapewniam was: Jeden z was Mnie zdradzi!
22 the disciples were looking, therefore, at one another, doubting concerning of whom He speaks.
Zaniepokojeni uczniowie popatrzyli po sobie, zastanawiając się, o kim mówi.
23 And there was one of His disciples reclining in the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus was loving;
Jeden z nich, najbliższy przyjaciel Jezusa, siedział tuż przy Nim.
24 Simon Peter, then, beckons to this one, to inquire who he may be concerning whom He speaks,
Szymon Piotr dał mu więc znak, aby zapytał, o kogo chodzi.
25 and that one having leaned back on the breast of Jesus, responds to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
Ten więc nachylił się i zapytał: —Panie, kto to?
26 Jesus answers, “It is that one to whom I, having dipped the morsel, will give it”; and having dipped the morsel, He gives [it] to Judas of Simon, Iscariot.
—To ten, któremu podam kawałek umoczonego w sosie chleba—odrzekł Jezus. Umoczył więc kawałek i podał Judaszowi.
27 And after the morsel, then Satan entered into that one. Jesus, therefore, says to him, “What you do—do quickly”;
On zjadł i wtedy opanował go szatan. Jezus zaś powiedział do Judasza: —Zrób szybko to, co zamierzasz.
28 and none of those reclining to eat knew for what intent He said this to him,
Nikt jednak tego nie zrozumiał.
29 for certain [of them] were thinking, since Judas had the bag, that Jesus says to him, “Buy what we have need of for the celebration”; or that he may give something to the poor;
Ponieważ Judasz był skarbnikiem, niektórzy myśleli, że Jezus wydał mu polecenie: „Kup rzeczy potrzebne na święto” lub „Zanieś pieniądze biednym”.
30 having received, therefore, the morsel, that one immediately went forth, and it was night.
Gdy więc Judasz zjadł podany kawałek chleba, natychmiast wyszedł. A była już noc.
31 When, therefore, he went forth, Jesus says, “Now was the Son of Man glorified, and God was glorified in Him;
Po jego wyjściu Jezus powiedział: —Ja, Syn Człowieczy, zostałem teraz otoczony chwałą. I otoczę chwałą Boga.
32 if God was glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself; indeed, He will immediately glorify Him.
On zaś wkrótce otoczy chwałą Mnie.
33 Little children, yet a little [while] am I with you; you will seek Me, and according as I said to the Jews, I also say to you now: To where I go away, you are not able to come.
Kochani! Będę z wami jeszcze tylko chwilę. Potem będziecie Mnie szukać, ale jak powiedziałem przywódcom, tak i wam powtarzam: Tam, gdzie idę, nie możecie pójść.
34 A new command I give to you, that you love one another; according as I loved you, that you also love one another;
Daję wam nowe przykazanie, abyście się wzajemnie kochali. Jak Ja was ukochałem, tak wy macie kochać jedni drugich.
35 in this will all know that you are My disciples, if you may have love one to another.”
Jeśli będziecie okazywać sobie nawzajem miłość, wszyscy rozpoznają, że naprawdę jesteście moimi uczniami.
36 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, to where do You go away?” Jesus answered him, “To where I go away, you are not able now to follow Me, but afterward you will follow Me.”
—Panie, ale dokąd odchodzisz?—zaniepokoił się Szymon Piotr. —Teraz nie możesz iść tam razem ze Mną—odpowiedział Jezus—ale kiedyś pójdziesz.
37 Peter says to Him, “Lord, why am I not able to follow You now? I will lay down my life for You”;
—Dlaczego nie teraz, Panie? Oddam za Ciebie życie!
38 Jesus answered him, “You will lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you may deny Me three times.”
—Oddasz za Mnie życie?—odparł Jezus. —Zapewniam cię, że zanim rano zapieje kogut, trzy razy zaprzeczysz, że Mnie znasz.
