< John 13 >
1 And before the Celebration of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour has come, that He may depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who [are] in the world—to the end He loved them.
2 And dinner having come, the Devil already having put [it] into the heart of Judas of Simon, Iscariot, that he may deliver Him up,
3 Jesus knowing that all things the Father has given to Him—into [His] hands, and that He came forth from God, and He goes to God,
4 rises from the dinner, and lays down His garments, and having taken a towel, He girded Himself;
Yesu akawuka pachakulya pala, akavika pamuhana nyula yaki ya kujihwika, akatola chitambala na kujikunga muchiwunu.
5 afterward He puts water into the basin, and began to wash the feet of His disciples, and to wipe with the towel with which He was being girded.
Kangi akasopa manji munkele livaha na kutumbula kuvasambisa vawuliwa vaki magendelu na kuhungula na chitambala chila cheajikungili muchiwunu.
6 He comes, therefore, to Simon Peter, and that one says to Him, “Lord, You—do You wash my feet?”
Peamhikili Simoni Petili, Petili mwene akajova, “Bambu, veve yati ukunisanja magendelu nene?”
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “That which I do you have not known now, but you will know after these things”;
Yesu akayangula, “Wimanya lepi chenihenga hinu, nambu yati wimanya mwanakandahi.”
8 Peter says to Him, “You may not wash my feet—throughout the age.” Jesus answered him, “If I may not wash you, you have no part with Me”; (aiōn )
Petili akamjovela, “Veve ukunisanja lepi magendelu katu!” Yesu akamyangula, “Changali kukusanja magendelu gaku wivya lepi muwuliwa wangu kavili.” (aiōn )
9 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.”
Simoni Petili akamyangula, “Bambu, unisanja, lepi magendelu gene, ndi pamonga na mawoko gangu mewawa na mutu.”
10 Jesus says to him, “He who has been bathed has no need except to wash his feet, but he is clean altogether; and you are clean, but not all”;
Yesu akamjovela, “Mundu mweamali kusamba ndi amali kunyamba iganikiwa kusanja magendelu ndu. Nyenye munyambili nambu mwavoha lepi.”
11 for He knew him who is delivering Him up; because of this He said, “You are not all clean.”
Yesu ammanyili yula mweakumng'anamukila, ndi mana ajovili, “Nyenye mnyambili, nambu mwavoha lepi.”
12 When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, having reclined again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
Yesu peamali kuvasambisa magendelu na kuwala kavili nyula yaki, akatama, peatamili akavajovela, “Wu, mmanyili aga genivakitili?”
13 You call Me the Teacher and the LORD, and you say well, for I am;
Nyenye mukunikemela Muwula na Bambu mwijova chakaka, muni nene ndi chenivii.
14 if then I washed your feet—the LORD and the Teacher—you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Yakavyai nene mwenivii Bambu na Muwula nivasambisi nyenye magendelu, mewawa na nyenye yikuvagana musanjanayi magendelu nyenye mwavene.
15 For I gave to you an example, that, according as I did to you, you also may do;
Nivapeli luhumu, muni nyenye mewa muhengayi ngati chenivahengili.
16 truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor an apostle greater than he who sent him;
Chakaka nikuvajovela, mtangatila mkulu lepi kuliku mtopeswa waki, mewawa mjumbi mkulu lepi kuliku mweamtumili yula.
17 if you have known these things, you are blessed if you may do them;
Hinu, ndava muni mukugamanya mambu ago, yati mmotisiwa ngati mukugahenga.
18 I do not speak concerning you all; I have known whom I chose for Myself; but that the Writing may be fulfilled: He who is eating the bread with Me, lifted up his heel against Me.
Nijova lepi kuvavala mwavoha. Nivamanyili venivahagwili vala, nambu Mayandiku Gamsopi giganikiwa gatimilayi, mundu mwealili chakulya pamonga na nene aning'anamukili.
19 From this time I tell you, before its coming to pass, that, when it may come to pass, you may believe that I AM;
“Nene nivajovili mambu aga kwakona kuhumila, muni pegihumila muhotola kusadika, ‘Nene Ndi Mwene.’
20 truly, truly, I say to you, he who is receiving whomsoever I may send, receives Me; and he who is receiving Me, receives Him who sent Me.”
Chakaka nikuvajovela, yula mweakumpokela mundu yoyoha mwenimtumili, akunipokela nene, na mweakunipokela nene akumpokela mwene mweanitumili.”
21 Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in the spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will deliver Me up”;
Peamali kujova genago, Yesu akaviniswa neju mumtima, akajova hotohoto, “Chakaka nikuvajovela mmonga winu yati akuning'anamukila!”
22 the disciples were looking, therefore, at one another, doubting concerning of whom He speaks.
Vawuliwa vakalolesana kuni nakuhotola kummanya akumjova yani.
23 And there was one of His disciples reclining in the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus was loving;
24 Simon Peter, then, beckons to this one, to inquire who he may be concerning whom He speaks,
Hinu Simoni Petili akumkonya lihu muwuliwa yula “Amkotayi ijova kumvala yani.”
25 and that one having leaned back on the breast of Jesus, responds to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
Muwuliwa mwenuyu akahegelela papipi na Yesu, akamkota “Bambu ndi yani?”
26 Jesus answers, “It is that one to whom I, having dipped the morsel, will give it”; and having dipped the morsel, He gives [it] to Judas of Simon, Iscariot.
27 And after the morsel, then Satan entered into that one. Jesus, therefore, says to him, “What you do—do quickly”;
Yuda peamali kupokela chipandi chila, Setani akamuyingila. Hinu Yesu akamjovela “Chewigana kukita kita kanyata!”
28 and none of those reclining to eat knew for what intent He said this to him,
Nambu kawaka hati mmonga ya vala vevatamii pachakulya mweamanyili ndava kyani amjovili genago.
29 for certain [of them] were thinking, since Judas had the bag, that Jesus says to him, “Buy what we have need of for the celebration”; or that he may give something to the poor;
Ndava muni Yuda avi mvika lihaku la mashonga, vangi vaholali kuvya Yesu amjovili manya akagula vindu vyeviganikiwa pamselebuko wa Pasaka, amala avapelayi vangangu vindu.
30 having received, therefore, the morsel, that one immediately went forth, and it was night.
Yuda peamali kutola chipandi chila cha libumunda, bahapo akahuma kuvala. Na yavili kilu.
31 When, therefore, he went forth, Jesus says, “Now was the Son of Man glorified, and God was glorified in Him;
32 if God was glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself; indeed, He will immediately glorify Him.
Ngati ukulu wa Chapanga ulangiswi mugati ya Mwana, hinu Chapanga yati akuulangisa ukulu wa Mwana mugati yaki mwene yati ikita ago kanyata.
33 Little children, yet a little [while] am I with you; you will seek Me, and according as I said to the Jews, I also say to you now: To where I go away, you are not able to come.
“Nyenye vana vangu, nakona niviii pamonga na nyenye mulukumbi luhupi ndu. Yati mukunilonda, nambu nikuvajovela galagala genavajovili vachilongosi va Vayawudi kuvya, ‘Kwenihamba nene, nyenye nakuhotola kuhamba.’
34 A new command I give to you, that you love one another; according as I loved you, that you also love one another;
Nikuvapela muhilu wa mupya mgananayi. Mgananayi ngati nene chenavaganili nyenye.
35 in this will all know that you are My disciples, if you may have love one to another.”
Mukagananayi, vandu voha yati vimanya kuvya nyenye ndi vawuliwa vangu.”
36 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, to where do You go away?” Jesus answered him, “To where I go away, you are not able now to follow Me, but afterward you will follow Me.”
Simoni Petili akamkota, “Bambu, wihamba koki?” Yesu akayangula “Kwenihamba uhotola lepi kunilanda hinu, nambu yati ukunilanda mwanakandahi.”
37 Peter says to Him, “Lord, why am I not able to follow You now? I will lay down my life for You”;
Petili akamkota kavili, “Bambu, Ndava kyani nihotola lepi kukulanda hinu? Nene nihotola kufwa ndava yaku!”
38 Jesus answered him, “You will lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you may deny Me three times.”
Yesu akayangula, “Wu, uhotola chakaka kufwa ndava yangu? Chakaka nikukujovela, kwakona lijogolo kuvika ukunibela mala zidatu!”
