< John 13 >

1 And before the Celebration of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour has come, that He may depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who [are] in the world—to the end He loved them.
He woodeyka ayhudata paziga ba77elepe kase Yesussay hayssa allameza yedidi aawako bana saatey gakkiidaysa erridees, hayssa allamezan diza ba baggata wuris sqqides, wurisethi gakkanaasika dosides.
2 And dinner having come, the Devil already having put [it] into the heart of Judas of Simon, Iscariot, that he may deliver Him up,
Yesussayne iza kaallizayt isife kawo mishshin simmona nay Asqqoroto Yuday Yesussa aththi immana mala xalaey iza wozinan iita qoofa gelththides.
3 Jesus knowing that all things the Father has given to Him—into [His] hands, and that He came forth from God, and He goes to God,
Yesussay aaway izas godateth wursi immidaysane izi xoossa achchafe kezidi yidaysa, qase simmidi xoossako banaysa erress.
4 rises from the dinner, and lays down His garments, and having taken a towel, He girded Himself;
Hessa gish maada bollafe denddine mayoo qaari woththdi pooxa ekkdi xeesan gixxides.
5 afterward He puts water into the basin, and began to wash the feet of His disciples, and to wipe with the towel with which He was being girded.
Too meecciza gonggen hathth gujjidi bena kaallizayta too meeche oykkdes, ba gixxida pooxanika meccida tooza quccides.
6 He comes, therefore, to Simon Peter, and that one says to Him, “Lord, You—do You wash my feet?”
Yesussay Simmona geetetza phixirosako shiiqn Simmona geetetza phixirosay iza “goodo! ne ta too meccanee?” gides.
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “That which I do you have not known now, but you will know after these things”;
Yesussayka “tani ooththizaysa ne hai erraka guyepe qass ne erranddasa” gides.
8 Peter says to Him, “You may not wash my feet—throughout the age.” Jesus answered him, “If I may not wash you, you have no part with Me”; (aiōn g165)
Phixirossayka “ne ta too mulleka meeccaka” gides, Yesussay qasse “ta ne too meeccontta aggiko nesnne tas isifetethi dena” gides. (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.”
Simmona geetettza phixirossayka zaaridi “goodo hessa gidiko tas too xalala gidontta kushshera hueera wursa meecca” gides.
10 Jesus says to him, “He who has been bathed has no need except to wash his feet, but he is clean altogether; and you are clean, but not all”;
Yesussay qasse “ba asatethi meeccetdades kummetha bollay geshshi gidida gish izas too meechafe attin hara koshshena, inte gesha shin wuri gidekista” gides.
11 for He knew him who is delivering Him up; because of this He said, “You are not all clean.”
Yesussay “inte wurikka gesh gidekista” giday iza aththi immanadey oonnakone erriza gishshsiko.
12 When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, having reclined again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
Istta too meeccidape guye ba mayoo eeki maydii kase ba uttdasoo simmi uttdes, qasse isttas hizzgides “ta intes ay ooththidakone wozinan woththideti?
13 You call Me the Teacher and the LORD, and you say well, for I am;

14 if then I washed your feet—the LORD and the Teacher—you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

15 For I gave to you an example, that, according as I did to you, you also may do;
Ta intes ooththdaysa mala inteka ooththana mala ta intes lemmuiso besadis.
16 truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor an apostle greater than he who sent him;
Ta intes tummu gays ashshikaray godape adhena, kittetda urray kittidadepe adhena.
17 if you have known these things, you are blessed if you may do them;
Inte hayssa erridi ooson peyshshiko inte anjjetidayta.
18 I do not speak concerning you all; I have known whom I chose for Myself; but that the Writing may be fulfilled: He who is eating the bread with Me, lifted up his heel against Me.
Ta hayssa gizay inte wurisota gish gidena, tani ta doridayta wursa errays, gido attin ta kaathi midadeey ta morkke gididi ta bolla denddides giza maxaafa qaalay poletenas koshshes.
19 From this time I tell you, before its coming to pass, that, when it may come to pass, you may believe that I AM;
Ta hayssa haira intes yootzay izi poletza woode ta oonnakone inte ammanana malako.
20 truly, truly, I say to you, he who is receiving whomsoever I may send, receives Me; and he who is receiving Me, receives Him who sent Me.”
Ta intes tummu gays ta kittdadee ekkizzadey tana ekes, tana ekkizadey tana kittdade ekkes.
21 Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in the spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will deliver Me up”;
Yesussay hessa gi simmidi kezi qoofan gelidinee “ta intes tummu gays inte garssafe isadey tana aththi immana” gidi qonccen yootdes.
22 the disciples were looking, therefore, at one another, doubting concerning of whom He speaks.
Iza kaallizayt hessa izi oonna gish gidakone errontta gish ba garssan isay isara xeeletdes.
23 And there was one of His disciples reclining in the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus was loving;
Iza kaallizzayta garssafe Yesussay siqqiza isay Yesussa achchan uttides.
24 Simon Peter, then, beckons to this one, to inquire who he may be concerning whom He speaks,
Simmona geetettza phixirossay Yanssa sommii besidi “izi oonna gish gizakone ane iza oychcha” gides.
25 and that one having leaned back on the breast of Jesus, responds to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
Hessa gish izi ba qodhe gede Yesussa hayththako shishshidi “godo! izi oonne? gidi oychchdes.
26 Jesus answers, “It is that one to whom I, having dipped the morsel, will give it”; and having dipped the morsel, He gives [it] to Judas of Simon, Iscariot.
Yesussayka zaaridi “izadey ta hai budena woxen dhim77eda barssizade” gides, hessa gi simmid budena woxen dhim77i ekkid asiqorotepe yida simmona na yuda barisides.
27 And after the morsel, then Satan entered into that one. Jesus, therefore, says to him, “What you do—do quickly”;
Yuday iza badhida mala herakka xalaeey izan gelides, Yesussayka Yuda “ne ooththanays qoopidaysa elela ooththa” gides.
28 and none of those reclining to eat knew for what intent He said this to him,
Yesussay hessa aazas gidakoone maadan uttda asape gelidadey oonnika dena.
29 for certain [of them] were thinking, since Judas had the bag, that Jesus says to him, “Buy what we have need of for the celebration”; or that he may give something to the poor;
Yuday mishshe oykizade gidida gish Yesussa kaallizayttape baggat Yesussay yuda ba77elezas koshshizaysa shaama woykoo manqqootas muxata iima” gida milatdes.
30 having received, therefore, the morsel, that one immediately went forth, and it was night.
Yudayka budena badhida mala herakka kezzidi bides, izi bishin gadeey qammako.
31 When, therefore, he went forth, Jesus says, “Now was the Son of Man glorified, and God was glorified in Him;
Yuday kezii bidape guye Yesussay hizzgdes “asa nay hai bonchetdes, iza gaason Xoossika bonchetdes.
32 if God was glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself; indeed, He will immediately glorify Him.

33 Little children, yet a little [while] am I with you; you will seek Me, and according as I said to the Jews, I also say to you now: To where I go away, you are not able to come.
Ta Naytoo, ta intenara daroo wode gam77ike inte tana koyana ta kase ayhudata halaqattasika “ta bizzaso inte yana danddaekeista gada yootda mala haika intesiika hessaththo yootays.

36 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, to where do You go away?” Jesus answered him, “To where I go away, you are not able now to follow Me, but afterward you will follow Me.”
Hessafe guye Simmona geetettza phixirossay yesussa “Godo! ne awa bane?” gidii oychchdes, Yesussay qasse “ta bizasoo ne hai tana kaalana dandda7eka shin guyepe ne tana kaalana” gides.
37 Peter says to Him, “Lord, why am I not able to follow You now? I will lay down my life for You”;
Phixirossayka “Godo! ta nena hai kaalanas ays dandda7ikna? haray attoshshin tani ta shemhaaththaoka ne gish aththa immana” gides.
38 Jesus answered him, “You will lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you may deny Me three times.”
