John 10
1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who is not entering through the door to the fold of the sheep, but is going up from another side, that one is a thief and a robber;
En vérité, en vérité, je vous le déclare, celui qui n'entre pas par la porte dans la bergerie, mais qui y monte par un autre endroit, celui-là est un voleur et un brigand.
2 and he who is entering through the door is shepherd of the sheep;
Mais celui qui entre par la porte est le berger des brebis.
3 the doorkeeper opens to this one, and the sheep hear his voice, and his own sheep he calls by name, and leads them forth;
Le portier lui ouvre, et les brebis entendent sa voix; il appelle ses brebis par leur nom, et il les mène dehors.
4 and when he may put forth his own sheep, he goes on before them, and the sheep follow him, because they have known his voice;
Quand il les a toutes fait sortir, il marche devant elles, et les brebis le suivent, parce qu'elles connaissent sa voix.
5 and they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, because they have not known the voice of strangers.”
Mais elles ne suivront pas un étranger; au contraire, elles le fuiront, parce qu'elles ne connaissent point la voix des étrangers.
6 Jesus spoke this allegory to them, and they did not know what the things were that He was speaking to them;
Jésus leur dit cette similitude, mais ils ne comprirent pas ce qu'il voulait dire.
7 Jesus therefore said again to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I AM the door of the sheep;
Jésus leur dit encore: En vérité, en vérité, je vous le déclare, je suis la porte des brebis.
8 all, as many as came before Me, are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them;
Tous ceux qui sont venus avant moi sont des voleurs et des brigands; mais les brebis ne les ont pas écoutés.
9 I AM the door, if anyone may come in through Me, he will be saved, and he will come in, and go out, and find pasture.
Je suis la porte: si quelqu'un entre par moi, il sera sauvé; il entrera et sortira, et il trouvera de la pâture.
10 The thief does not come, except that he may steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly.
Le voleur ne vient que pour dérober, pour égorger et pour détruire; moi, je suis venu, afin que les brebis aient la vie, et qu'elles l'aient en abondance.
11 I AM the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays His life down for the sheep;
Je suis le bon berger; le bon berger donne sa vie pour ses brebis.
12 and the hired worker, and not being a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholds the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf snatches them, and scatters the sheep;
Le mercenaire, qui n'est pas le berger, et à qui les brebis n'appartiennent pas, s'il voit venir le loup, abandonne les brebis et s'enfuit; et le loup les ravit et les disperse.
13 and the hired worker flees because he is a hired worker, and is not caring for the sheep.
C'est qu'il est mercenaire, et qu'il ne se soucie pas des brebis.
14 I AM the good shepherd, and I know My [sheep], and am known by Mine,
Je suis le bon berger! Je connais mes brebis, et mes brebis me connaissent,
15 according as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father, and My life I lay down for the sheep,
comme le Père me connaît et comme je connais le Père; et je donne ma vie pour mes brebis.
16 and other sheep I have that are not of this fold, these also it is necessary for Me to bring, and My voice they will hear, and there will become one flock—one shepherd.
J'ai encore d'autres brebis qui ne sont pas de cette bergerie; il faut aussi que je les amène. Elles entendront ma voix, et il y aura un seul troupeau, un seul berger!
17 Because of this the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, that again I may take it;
Voici pourquoi le Père m'aime: c'est parce que je donne ma vie, afin de la reprendre.
18 no one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself; authority I have to lay it down, and authority I have again to take it; this command I received from My Father.”
Personne ne me l'ôte, mais je la donne de moi-même; j'ai le pouvoir de la donner, et j'ai le pouvoir de la reprendre: j'ai reçu cet ordre de mon Père.
19 Therefore, again, there came a division among the Jews, because of these words,
Les Juifs furent de nouveau divisés, à cause de ces paroles.
20 and many of them said, “He has a demon, and is mad, why do you hear Him?”
Plusieurs d'entre eux disaient: Il est possédé d'un démon, il est hors de sens; pourquoi l'écoutez-vous?
21 Others said, “These sayings are not those of a demoniac; is a demon able to open blind men’s eyes?”
D'autres disaient: Ce ne sont pas là les paroles d'un possédé. Un démon peut-il ouvrir les yeux des aveugles?
22 And the Dedication in Jerusalem came, and it was winter,
On célébrait à Jérusalem la fête de la Dédicace. C'était l'hiver;
23 and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the porch of Solomon,
et Jésus se promenait dans le temple, sous le portique de Salomon.
24 the Jews, therefore, came around Him and said to Him, “Until when do You hold our soul in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us freely.”
Les Juifs se rassemblèrent autour de lui, et lui dirent: Jusques à quand nous tiendras-tu l'esprit en suspens? Si tu es le Christ, dis-le-nous franchement.
25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in the Name of My Father, these testify concerning Me;
Jésus leur répondit: Je vous l'ai dit, et vous ne croyez pas; les oeuvres que je fais au nom de mon Père me rendent témoignage.
26 but you do not believe, for you are not of My sheep,
Mais vous ne croyez pas, parce que vous n'êtes pas de mes brebis.
27 according as I said to you: My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me,
Mes brebis entendent ma voix; je les connais, et elles me suivent.
29 My Father, who has given to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch out of the hand of My Father;
Mon Père, qui me les a données, est plus grand que tous; et personne ne peut les ravir de la main du Père.
30 I and the Father are one.”
Moi et le Père, nous sommes un.
31 Therefore, again, the Jews took up stones that they may stone Him;
Les Juifs prirent de nouveau des pierres pour le lapider.
32 Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from My Father; because of which work of them do you stone Me?”
Jésus leur dit: J'ai fait sous vos yeux beaucoup de bonnes oeuvres de la part du Père; pour laquelle me lapidez-vous?
33 The Jews answered Him, saying, “We do not stone You for a good work, but for slander, and because You, being a man, make Yourself God.”
Les Juifs lui répondirent: Ce n'est pas pour une bonne oeuvre que nous te lapidons, mais pour un blasphème, parce que, étant homme, tu te fais Dieu.
34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not having been written in your law: I said, you are gods?
Jésus leur répondit: N'est-il pas écrit dans votre Loi: «J'ai dit: Vous êtes des dieux»?
35 If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the Writing is not able to be broken),
Si elle a appelé «dieux» ceux à qui la parole de Dieu était adressée, et si l'Écriture ne peut être anéantie,
36 of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, do you say—You slander, because I said, I am [the] Son of God?
comment dites-vous que je blasphème, — moi que le Père a consacré et qu'il a envoyé dans le monde; — parce que j'ai dit: Je suis le Fils de Dieu?
37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;
Si je ne fais pas les oeuvres de mon Père, ne me croyez point.
38 and if I do, even if you may not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and may believe that the Father [is] in Me, and I in Him.”
Mais si je les fais, quand même vous ne me croiriez pas, croyez à mes oeuvres, afin que vous appreniez et que vous sachiez que le Père est en moi, et que je suis dans le Père.
39 Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, and He went forth out of their hand,
Ils cherchaient encore à s'emparer de lui; mais il s'échappa de leurs mains.
40 and went away again to the other side of the Jordan, to the place where John was at first immersing, and remained there,
Puis il s'en alla de nouveau au delà du Jourdain, à l'endroit où Jean avait baptisé tout d'abord, et il y demeura.
41 and many came to Him and said, “John, indeed, did no sign, and all things, as many as John said about this One were true”;
Beaucoup de gens vinrent à lui, et ils disaient: Jean n'a fait aucun miracle, mais tout ce que Jean a dit de cet homme était vrai.
42 and many believed in Him there.
Et il y en eut là plusieurs qui crurent en lui.
