John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;
सुरुमा वचन हुनुहुन्थ्यो । वचन परमेश्वरसँग हुनुहुन्थ्यो । अनि वचन नै परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
2 this One was in the beginning with God;
उहाँ सुरुदेखि नै परमेश्वरसँग हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
3 all things happened through Him, and without Him not even one thing happened that has happened.
सबै थोकहरू उहाँद्वारा बनिए, र बनिएको कुनै पनि थोक उहाँविना बनिएन ।
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men,
उहाँमा जीवन थियो, अनि त्यो जीवन सबै मानिसहरूका लागि ज्योति थियो ।
5 and the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not perceive it.
ज्योति अन्धकारमा चम्किन्छ, अनि अन्धकारले यसलाई जितेन ।
6 There came a man—having been sent from God—whose name [is] John,
परमेश्वरबाट पठाइएका एक जना मानिस थिए, जसको नाउँ यूहन्ना थियो ।
7 this one came for testimony, that he might testify about the Light, that all might believe through him;
उहाँद्वारा सबैले विश्वास गरून् भनेर उहाँ ज्योतिको बारेमा गवाही दिन साक्षीको रूपमा आउनुभयो ।
8 that one was not the Light, but—that he might testify about the Light.
यूहन्ना ज्योति थिएनन्, तर ज्योतिको बारेमा गवाही दिन भनेर उनी आए ।
9 He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world;
उहाँ सबै मानिसहरूलाई ज्योति दिनुहुने र संसारमा आउनुहुने सत्य ज्योति हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him:
उहाँ संसारमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो र संसार उहाँद्वारा नै बनियो, तर संसारले उहाँलाई चिनेन ।
11 He came to [His] own, and [His] own did not receive Him;
उहाँ आफ्नैहरूकहाँ आउनुभयो, तर उहाँलाई आफ्नैहरूले स्वीकार गरेनन् ।
12 but as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become sons of God—to those believing in His Name,
तर जतिले उहाँलाई स्वीकार गरे अर्थात् उहाँको नाउँमा विश्वास गरे उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई परमेश्वरका सन्तानहरू हुने अधिकार दिनुभयो ।
13 who were begotten, not of blood, nor of will of flesh, nor of will of man, but of God.
यिनीहरू न रगतले, न शारीरिक इच्छाअनुसार, न मानिसको इच्छाअनुसार नै जन्मेका थिए, तर परमेश्वरबाट जन्मेका थिए ।
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of [the] only begotten of [the] Father, full of grace and truth.
अनि वचन देहधारी हुनुभयो र हाम्रा बिचमा बास गर्नुभयो । हामीले पिताबाट आउनुभएका एक मात्रको जस्तो अर्थात् अनुग्रह र सत्यताले पूर्ण महिमा देख्यौँ ।
15 John testifies concerning Him, and has cried, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who is coming after me has come before me, for He was before me.”
यूहन्नाले उहाँको बारेमा गवाही दिए, र ठुलो सोरले यसो भने, “मपछि आउनुहुने मभन्दा महान् हुनुहुन्छ, किनकि उहाँ मभन्दा अगिदेखि नै हुनुहुन्छ भनी मैले भनेको व्यक्ति उहाँ नै हुनुहुन्छ ।”
16 And we all received out of His fullness, and grace for grace;
किनकि उहाँको पूर्णताबाट हामी सबैले अनुग्रहमाथि अनुग्रह पाएका छौँ ।
17 for the Law was given through Moses, the grace and the truth came through Jesus Christ.
किनकि व्यवस्था मोशाद्वारा दिइयो । अनुग्रह र सत्यता येशू ख्रीष्टद्वारा आयो ।
18 No one has ever seen God; the only begotten God who is on the bosom of the Father—He has expounded [Him].
कसैले पनि परमेश्वरलाई कहिल्यै देखेको छैन । पिताको छातीमा अडेस लाग्नुहुने एक मात्र परमेश्वरले उहाँलाई चिनाउनुभएको छ ।
19 And this is the testimony of John when the Jews sent priests and Levites out of Jerusalem, that they might question him, “Who are you?”
यहूदीहरूले यरूशलेमबाट पुजारीहरू र लेवीहरूलाई “तिमी को हौ?” भनी सोध्न पठाउँदा यूहन्नाको गवाही यही हो ।
20 And he confessed and did not deny, and confessed, “I am not the Christ.”
उनले खुला भएर भने, र इन्कार गरेनन्, तर जवाफ दिए, “म ख्रीष्ट होइनँ ।”
21 And they questioned him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he says, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
त्यसकारण, तिनीहरूले उनलाई भने, “त्यसो भए तिमी को हौ त? के तिमी एलिया हौ?” उनले भने, “होइनँ ।” तिनीहरूले भने, “के तिमी अगमवक्ता हौ?” उनले जवाफ दिए, “होइनँ ।”
22 Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those sending us? What do you say concerning yourself?”
तब तिनीहरूले उनलाई भने, “तिमी को हौ, ताकि हामीलाई पठाउनेहरूलाई हामीले जवाफ दिन सकौँ? तिमी आफ्नै बारेमा के भन्छौ?”
23 He said, “I [am] a voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the LORD, as Isaiah the prophet said.”
उनले भने, “म मरुभूमिमा कराइरहेको एउटा आवाज हुँ । ‘परमप्रभुको निम्ति बाटो सोझो बनाओ’ जस्तो यशैया अगमवक्ताले भने ।”
24 And those sent were of the Pharisees,
ती पठाइएकाहरू फरिसीहरूबाटका थिए ।
25 and they questioned him and said to him, “Why, then, do you immerse, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”
तिनीहरूले उनलाई सोधे र भने, “तिमी न ख्रीष्ट, न एलिया, न अगमवक्ता नै हौ भने किन बप्तिस्मा दिन्छौ?”
26 John answered them, saying, “I immerse in water, but in the midst of you has stood He whom you have not known, it is this One who is coming after me, who has been before me,
अनि यूहन्नाले तिनीहरूलाई यसो भनेर जवाफ दिए, “म पानीले बप्तिस्मा दिन्छु । तर तिमीहरूका माझमा तिमीहरूले नचिनेको कोही खडा हुनुहुन्छ,
27 of whom I am not worthy that I may loose the strap of His sandal.”
उहाँ जो मपछि आउनुहुन्छ, म उहाँको जुत्ताको फित्ता खोल्न लायकको छैनँ ।”
28 These things came to pass in Bethabara, beyond the Jordan, where John was immersing.
यर्दनको पारिपट्टि बेथानियामा यी कुराहरू गरिएका थिए, जहाँ यूहन्नाले बप्तिस्मा दिइरहेका थिए ।
29 On the next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who is taking away the sin of the world;
अर्को दिन यूहन्नाले येशू आफूकहाँ आइरहनुभएको देखे र भने, “हेर, संसारको पाप उठाइलानुहुने परमेश्वरका थुमा!
30 this is He concerning whom I said, After me comes a Man who has come before me, because He was before me:
मपछि आउनुहुने मभन्दा महान् हुनुहुन्छ, किनकि उहाँ मभन्दा अगिदेखि नै हुनुहुन्छ भनी मैले भनेको उहाँ नै हुनुहुन्छ ।
31 and I did not know Him, but that He might be revealed to Israel, because of this I came immersing in water.”
म उहाँलाई चिन्दिनथेँ, तर उहाँलाई इस्राएलीहरूप्रति प्रकट गराउन सकियोस् भनी म पानीले बप्तिस्मा दिँदै आएँ ।”
32 And John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit coming down out of Heaven as a dove, and [that] One remained on Him;
यूहन्नाले यसरी गवाही दिए, “मैले पवित्र आत्मा स्वर्गबाट ढुकुरझैँ ओर्लिरहनुभएको र उहाँमाथि बस्नुभएको देखेँ ।
33 and I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water, He said to me, On whomsoever you may see the Spirit coming down, and remaining on Him, this is He who is immersing in the Holy Spirit;
मैले उहाँलाई चिन्दिनथेँ, तर पानीमा बप्तिस्मा दिन पठाउनुहुनेले मलाई भन्नुभयो, ‘तिमीले जसमाथि पवित्र आत्मा ओर्लिरहनुभएको र उहाँमाथि रहनुभएको देख्छौ, पवित्र आत्माले बप्तिस्मा दिनुहुने उहाँले नै हुनुहुन्छ ।’
34 and I have seen, and have testified, that this is the Son of God.”
मैले देखेको, र उहाँ नै परमेश्वरका पुत्र हुनुहुन्छ भनेर गवाही दिएको छु ।”
35 On the next day, again, John was standing, and two of his disciples,
फेरि अर्को दिन यूहन्ना आफ्ना दुई जना चेलासँग उभिरहँदा,
36 and having looked on Jesus walking, he says, “Behold, the Lamb of God”;
तिनीहरूले येशू त्यही बाटो भएर हिँडिरहनुभएको देखे, र यूहन्नाले भने, “हेर, परमेश्वरका थुमा!”
37 and the two disciples heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus.
यी दुई चेलाले यूहन्नाले यसो भनेका सुने, र तिनीहरूले येशूलाई पछ्याए ।
38 And Jesus having turned, and having beheld them following, says to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is, being interpreted, Teacher), “where do You remain?”
तब येशूले तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई पछ्याइरहेका देख्नुभयो र तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिमीहरू के चाहन्छौ?” तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई जवाफ दिए, “रब्बी (जसको अर्थ हो, गुरु), तपाईं कहाँ बस्दै हुनुहुन्छ?”
39 He says to them, “Come and see”; they came and saw where He remains, and they remained with Him that day and the hour was about the tenth.
उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “आऊ अनि देख्छौ ।” तब उनीहरू आए र उहाँ कहाँ बसिरहनुभएको थियो भनी देखे । त्यस दिन तिनीहरू उहाँसँगै बसे, किनभने दसौँ पहर हुन लागेको थियो ।
40 Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard from John, and followed Him;
यूहन्नाले भनेको सुन्ने र येशूलाई पछ्याउनेहरू यी दुई जनामध्ये एक जना सिमोन पत्रुसका भाइ अन्द्रियास थिए ।
41 this one first finds his own brother Simon and says to him, “We have found the Messiah,” (which is, being interpreted, Anointed One),
अन्द्रियासले आफ्ना भाइ सिमोनलाई भेट्टाएर भने, “हामीले मसीह (जसलाई ख्रीष्ट भनिन्छ) लाई भेट्टाएका छौँ ।”
42 and he brought him to Jesus: and having looked on him, Jesus says, “You are Simon, the son of Jonas, you will be called Cephas,” (which is interpreted, A rock).
उनले आफ्ना भाइलाई येशूकहाँ ल्याए । अनि येशूले उनलाई हेर्नुभयो र भन्नुभयो, “तिमी यूहन्नाका छोरा सिमोन हौ । तिमीलाई केफास (जसको अर्थ पत्रुस हो ) भनिनेछ ।
43 On the next day He willed to go forth to Galilee, and He finds Philip and says to him, “Follow Me.”
अर्को दिन जब येशू गालीलतिर जान त्यस ठाउँलाई छोड्न चाहनुभयो, उहाँले फिलिपलाई भेट्नुभयो र उनलाई भन्नुभयो, “मलाई पछ्याऊ ।”
44 And Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter;
फिलिप बेथसेदाका थिए जुन अन्द्रियास र पत्रुसको सहर थियो ।
45 Philip finds Nathanael and says to him, “Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the Prophets, we have found, Jesus the Son of Joseph, who [is] from Nazareth!”
फिलिपले नथानेललाई भेटे र उनलाई भने, “मोशाको व्यवस्थामा र अगमवक्ताहरूले लेखेका अर्थात् नासरतका योसेफका छोरो येशूलाई हामीले भेट्टाएका छौँ ।”
46 And Nathanael said to him, “Is any good thing able to be out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
नथानेलले उनलाई भने, “के नासरतबाट कुनै असल कुरा आउन सक्छ र?” फिलिपले उनलाई भने, “आएर हेर!”
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and He says concerning him, “Behold, truly an Israelite, in whom is no guile”;
येशूले नथानेललाई आफूकहाँ आइरहेको देख्नुभयो र उनलाई उनको बारेमा भन्नुभयो, “हेर, कुनै छल नभएका एक इस्राएली!”
48 Nathanael says to Him, “From where do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip’s calling you, being under the fig tree, I saw you.”
नथानेलले उहाँलाई भने, “तपाईं मलाई कसरी चिन्नुहुन्छ?” येशूले उनलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो र भन्नुभयो, “फिलिपले बोलाउनुभन्दा पहिले तिमी नेभाराको रुखमुनि हुँदा नै मैले तिमीलाई देखेँ ।”
49 Nathanael answered and says to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God, You are the King of Israel.”
नथानेलले जवाफ दिए, “रब्बी, तपाईं परमेश्वरका पुत्र हुनुहुन्छ! तपाईं इस्राएलका राजा हुनुहुन्छ!”
50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, you believe; you will see greater things than these”;
येशूले तिनलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो र भन्नुभयो, “‘मैले तिमीलाई नेभाराको रुखमुनि देखेँ भनेको कारण, के तिमी मलाई विश्वास गर्छौ? तिमीले योभन्दा ठुला-ठुला कुराहरू देख्नेछौ ।”
51 and He says to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, from now on you will see Heaven opened, and the messengers of God going up and coming down on the Son of Man.”
येशूले भन्नुभयो, “साँचो, साँचो म तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु, “तिमीहरूले स्वर्ग उघ्रिएको, अनि परमेश्वरका स्वर्गदूतहरू मानिसका पुत्रमाथि ओर्लिरहेका र उक्लिरहेका देख्नेछौ ।”
