Joel 1

1 A word of YHWH that has been to Joel, son of Pethuel:

೧ಪೆತೂವೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವೇಲನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯವು.

2 Hear this, you aged ones, And give ear, all you inhabitants of the land, Has this been in your days? Or in the days of your fathers?

೨ವೃದ್ಧರೇ, ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ. ಇಂಥ ಬಾಧೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತೋ?

3 Concerning it talk to your sons, And your sons to their sons, And their sons to another generation.

೩ಇದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಮುಂದಿನ ತಲೆಮಾರಿನವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿ.

4 What is left of the palmer-worm, the locust has eaten, And what is left of the locust, The cankerworm has eaten, And what is left of the cankerworm, The caterpillar has eaten.

೪ಚೂರಿಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದು ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಗುಂಪು ಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು; ಗುಂಪು ಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದು ಉಳಿದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕುದರೆ ಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು; ಕುದರೆ ಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದು ಉಳಿದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಬಳಿ ಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.

5 Awake, you drunkards, and weep, And howl all drinking wine, because of the juice, For it has been cut off from your mouth.

೫ಅಮಲೇರಿದವರೇ, ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಳಿರಿ! ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ ಕುಡಿಯುವವರೇ, ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದ ಸಿಹಿಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

6 For a nation has come up on My land, Strong, and there is no number, Its teeth [are] the teeth of a lion, And it has the jaw-teeth of a lioness.

೬ನನ್ನ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ ಒಂದು ಜನಾಂಗವು ಏರಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ; ಅದರ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಸಿಂಹದ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳೇ; ಅದರ ಕೋರೆ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಮೃಗರಾಜನ ಕೋರೆಗಳೇ.

7 It has made My vine become a desolation, And My fig tree become a splinter, It has made it thoroughly bare, and has cast down, Its branches have been made white.

೭ಅದು ನನ್ನ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾತೋಟವನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ಅಂಜೂರದ ಗಿಡವನ್ನು ಮುರಿದುಹಾಕಿದೆ. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿ ದೂರ ಬಿಸಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ; ಅದರ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳು ಬಿಳುಪಾದವು.

8 Wail, as a virgin girds with sackcloth, For the husband of her youth.

೮ಯೌವನದ ಪತಿಗಾಗಿ ದುಃಖದಿಂದ ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಗೋಳಾಡುವ ಕನ್ಯೆಯಂತೆ ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ.

9 Present and drink-offering have been cut off from the house of YHWH, The priests have mourned, servants of YHWH.

೯ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪಾನದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರು ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

10 The field is spoiled, The ground has mourned, For the grain is spoiled, New wine has been dried up, oil languishes.

೧೦ಬೆಳೆ ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಹೊಲವು ಹಾಳಾಗಿದೆ, ನೆಲವು ದುಃಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಧಾನ್ಯವು ನಾಶವಾಗಿದೆ, ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವು ಒಣಗಿದೆ, ಎಣ್ಣೆಯು ಕೆಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿದೆ.

11 Be ashamed, you farmers, Howl, vinedressers, for wheat and for barley, For the harvest of the field has perished.

೧೧ರೈತರೇ, ರೋದಿಸಿರಿ, ತೋಟಗಾರರೇ ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ, ಗೋದಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಜವೆಗೋದಿಯೂ ಹಾಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಹೊಲದ ಬೆಳೆಯು ನಾಶವಾಗಿದೆ.

12 The vine has been dried up, And the fig tree languishes, Pomegranate, also palm, and apple-tree, All trees of the field have withered, For joy has been dried up from the sons of men.

೧೨ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾಲತೆಯು ಒಣಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಜೂರದ ಗಿಡವು ಬಾಡಿಹೋಗಿದೆ; ದಾಳಿಂಬೆ, ಖರ್ಜೂರ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇಬು ಮರಗಳು ಹಾಗು ಹೊಲದ ಸಕಲ ವನವೃಕ್ಷಗಳು ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಸೊರಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕಳೆಗುಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

13 Gird, and lament, you priests, Howl, you servants of the altar, Come in, lodge in sackcloth, servants of my God, For present and drink-offering have been withheld from the house of your God.

೧೩ಯಾಜಕರೇ, ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಉಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ! ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಸೇವಕರೇ, ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ. ನನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕರೇ, ಬಂದು ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪಾನದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದೆ ನಿಂತುಹೋಗಿದೆ.

14 Sanctify a fast, proclaim a restraint, Gather [the] elderly [and] all those inhabiting the land, [Into the] house of your God YHWH,

೧೪ಉಪವಾಸ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿರಿ, ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿರಿ. ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಿರಿ.

15 And cry to YHWH, “Aah! For the day! For [the] Day of YHWH [is] near, And it comes as destruction from [the] Almighty.

೧೫ಯೆಹೋವನು ಬರುವ ದಿನವು ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿತು. ಅದು ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ದಿನ.

16 Is food not cut off before our eyes? Joy and rejoicing from the house of our God?

೧೬ನಮ್ಮ ಆಹಾರವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹಾಳಾಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ, ಸಂತೋಷವೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸವೂ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಯಿತ್ತಲ್ಲಾ!

17 Scattered things have rotted under their clods, Storehouses have been desolated, Granaries have been broken down, For the grain has withered.

೧೭ಬೀಜಗಳು, ಹೆಂಟೆಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಉಗ್ರಾಣಗಳು ಬರಿದಾಗಿವೆ. ಕಣಜಗಳು ಕೆಡವಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿವೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಧಾನ್ಯವು ಒಣಗಿದೆ.

18 How livestock have sighed! Perplexed have been droves of oxen, For there is no pasture for them, Also droves of sheep have been desolated.

೧೮ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಪಶುಗಳು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ನರಳುತ್ತವೆ! ಮೇವಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ದನದ ಮಂದೆಗಳು ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೇವು ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕುರಿಹಿಂಡುಗಳು ಕಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತವೆ.

19 To You, O YHWH, I call, For fire has consumed lovely places of a wilderness, And a flame has set on fire all trees of the field.

೧೯ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಕಾಡಿನ ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ, ವನವೃಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

20 Also the livestock of the field long for You, For dried up have been streams of water, And fire has consumed lovely places of a wilderness!”

೨೦ಅಡವಿಯ ಮೃಗಗಳು ಸಹ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಲೆಯೆತ್ತಿವೆ. ನೀರಿನ ಹೊಳೆಗಳು ಬತ್ತಿಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಕಾಡಿನ ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
