Job 9
1 And Job answers and says:
फ़िर अय्यूब ने जवाब दिया
2 “Truly I have known that [it is] so, But how is man righteous with God?
दर हक़ीक़त में मैं जानता हूँ कि बात यूँ ही है, लेकिन इंसान ख़ुदा के सामने कैसे रास्तबाज़ ठहरे।
3 If he delights to strive with Him—He does not answer him one of a thousand.
अगर वह उससे बहस करने को राज़ी भी हो, यह तो हज़ार बातों में से उसे एक का भी जवाब न दे सकेगा।
4 Wise in heart and strong in power—Who has hardened toward Him and is at peace?
वह दिल का 'अक़्लमन्द और ताक़त में ज़ोरआवर है, किसी ने हिम्मत करके उसका सामना किया है और बढ़ा हो।
5 Who is removing mountains, And they have not known, Who has overturned them in His anger.
वह पहाड़ों को हटा देता है और उन्हें पता भी नहीं लगता वह अपने क़हर में उलट देता है।
6 Who is shaking earth from its place, And its pillars move themselves.
वह ज़मीन को उसकी जगह से हिला देता है, और उसके सुतून काँपने लगते हैं।
7 Who is commanding to the sun, and it does not rise, And the stars He seals up.
वह सूरज को हुक्म करता है और वह तुलू' नहीं होता है, और सितारों पर मुहर लगा देता है
8 Stretching out the heavens by Himself, And treading on the heights of the sea,
वह आसमानों को अकेला तान देता है, और समन्दर की लहरों पर चलता है
9 Making the Great Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, And the inner chambers of the south.
उसने बनात — उन — नाश और जब्बार और सुरैया और जुनूब के बुजों' को बनाया।
10 Doing great things until there is no searching, And wonderful, until there is no numbering.
वह बड़े बड़े काम जो बयान नहीं हो सकते, और बेशुमार अजीब काम करता है।
11 Behold, He goes over by me, and I do not see, And He passes on, and I do not attend to it.
देखो, वह मेरे पास से गुज़रता है लेकिन मुझे दिखाई नहीं देता; वह आगे भी बढ़ जाता है लेकिन मैं उसे नहीं देखता।
12 Behold, He snatches away, who brings it back? Who says to Him, What [are] You doing?
देखो, वह शिकार पकड़ता है; कौन उसे रोक सकता है? कौन उससे कहेगा कि तू क्या करता है?
13 God does not turn back His anger, Proud helpers have bowed under Him.
“ख़ुदा अपने ग़ुस्से को नहीं हटाएगा। रहब' के मददगार उसके नीचे झुकजाते हैं।
14 How much less do I answer Him? Choose out my words with Him?
फिर मेरी क्या हक़ीक़त है कि मैं उसे जवाब दूँ और उससे बहस करने को अपने लफ़्ज़ छाँट छाँट कर निकालूँ?
15 Whom, though I were righteous, I do not answer, For my judgment I make supplication.
उसे तो मैं अगर सादिक़ भी होता तो जवाब न देता। मैं अपने मुख़ालिफ़ की मिन्नत करता।
16 Though I had called and He answers me, I do not believe that He gives ear [to] my voice.
अगर वह मेरे पुकारने पर मुझे जवाब भी देता, तोभी मैं यक़ीन न करता कि उसने मेरी आवाज़ सुनी।
17 Because He bruises me with a storm, And has multiplied my wounds for nothing.
वह तूफ़ान से मुझे तोड़ता है, और बे वजह मेरे ज़ख़्मों को ज़्यादा करता है।
18 He does not permit me to refresh my spirit, But fills me with bitter things.
वह मुझे दम नहीं लेने देता, बल्कि मुझे तल्ख़ी से भरपूर करता है।
19 If of power, behold, the Strong One; And if of judgment—who convenes me?
अगर ज़ोरआवर की ताक़त का ज़िक्र हो, तो देखो वह है। और अगर इन्साफ़ का, तो मेरे लिए वक़्त कौन ठहराएगा?
20 If I am righteous, my mouth declares me wicked; [If] I am perfect, it declares me perverse.
अगर मैं सच्चा भी हूँ, तोभी मेरा ही मुँह मुझे मुल्ज़िम ठहराएगा। और अगर मैं कामिल भी हूँ तोभी यह मुझे आलसी साबित करेगा।
21 I am perfect; I do not know my soul, I despise my life.
मैं कामिल तो हूँ, लेकिन अपने को कुछ नहीं समझता; मैं अपनी ज़िन्दगी को बेकार जानता हूँ।
22 It is the same thing, therefore I said, He is consuming the perfect and the wicked.
यह सब एक ही बात है, इसलिए मैं कहता हूँ कि वह कामिल और शरीर दोनों को हलाक कर देता है।
23 If a scourge puts to death suddenly, He laughs at the trial of the innocent.
अगर वबा अचानक हलाक करने लगे, तो वह बेगुनाह की आज़माइश का मज़ाक़ उड़ाता है।
24 Earth has been given Into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of her judges, If not—where, who [is] he?
ज़मीन शरीरों को हवाले कर दी गई है। वह उसके हाकिमों के मुँह ढाँक देता है। अगर वही नहीं तो और कौन है?
25 My days have been swifter than a runner, They have fled, they have not seen good,
मेरे दिन हरकारों से भी तेज़रू हैं। वह उड़े चले जाते हैं और ख़ुशी नहीं देखने पाते।
26 They have passed on with ships of reed, As an eagle darts on food.
वह तेज़ जहाज़ों की तरह निकल गए, और उस उक़ाब की तरह जो शिकार पर झपटता हो।
27 Though I say, I forget my talking, I forsake my corner, and I brighten up!
अगर मैं कहूँ, कि 'मैं अपना ग़म भुला दूँगा, और उदासी छोड़कर दिलशाद हूँगा,
28 I have been afraid of all my griefs, I have known that You do not acquit me.
तो मैं अपने दुखों से डरता हूँ, मैं जानता हूँ कि तू मुझे बेगुनाह न ठहराएगा।
29 I become wicked; why [is] this? I labor [in] vain.
मैं तो मुल्ज़िम ठहरूँगा; फिर मैं 'तो मैं ज़हमत क्यूँ उठाऊँ?
30 If I have washed myself with snow-water, And purified my hands with soap,
अगर मैं अपने को बर्फ़ के पानी से धोऊँ, और अपने हाथ कितने ही साफ़ करूँ।
31 Then You dip me in corruption, And my garments have detested me.
तोभी तू मुझे खाई में ग़ोता देगा, और मेरे ही कपड़े मुझ से घिन खाएँगे।
32 But if a man like myself—I answer Him, We come together into judgment.
क्यूँकि वह मेरी तरह आदमी नहीं कि मैं उसे जवाब दूँ, और हम 'अदालत में एक साथ हाज़िर हों।
33 If there were a mediator between us, He places his hand on us both.
हमारे बीच कोई बिचवानी नहीं, जो हम दोनों पर अपना हाथ रख्खे।
34 He turns aside His rod from off me, And His terror does not make me afraid,
वह अपनी लाठी मुझ से हटा ले, और उसकी डरावनी बात मुझे परेशान न करे।
35 I speak, and do not fear Him, but I am not right with myself.”
तब मैं कुछ कहूँगा और उससे डरने का नहीं, क्यूँकि अपने आप में तो मैं ऐसा नहीं हूँ।
