Job 42
1 And Job answers YHWH and says:
És felelt Jób az Örökkévalónak és mondta:
2 “You have known that [for] all things You are able, And no purpose is withheld from You.
Tudom, hogy mindent tehetsz, s nem vonható meg tőled semmi szándék.
3 [You said], Who [is] this hiding counsel without knowledge? Therefore, I have declared, and do not understand, Too wonderful for me, and I do not know.
Ki az, ki elburkolja a tanácsot tudás nélkül? – Azért hát olyat hirdettem, mit nem értek, olyakat, a mik csodásak nekem s nem tudom. -
4 Please hear, and I speak; [You said], I ask you, and you cause Me to know.
Halljad csak, majd beszélek én, hadd kérdelek, s te tudasd velem. –
5 By the hearing of the ear I heard You, And now my eye has seen You.
Fülhallás szerint hallottam rólad, de most szemem látott téged.
6 Therefore I loathe [it], And I have sighed on dust and ashes.”
Azért elvetem és megbánom, porban és hamuban.
7 And it comes to pass after YHWH’s speaking these words to Job, that YHWH says to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger has burned against you and against your two friends, because you have not spoken correctly concerning Me, like My servant Job.
És volt, miután elmondta az Örökkévaló e szavakat Jóbnak, szólt az Örökkévaló a Témánbeli Élífáhzhoz: Föllobbant haragom ellened és két barátod ellen, mert nem beszéltetek rólam helyeset, úgy mint szolgám Jób.
8 And now, take seven bullocks and seven rams for yourselves, and go to My servant Job, and you have caused a burnt-offering to ascend for yourselves; and Job My servant prays for you, for surely I accept his face, so as not to do folly with you, because you have not spoken correctly concerning Me, like My servant Job.”
Most tehát vegyetek magatoknak hét tulkot és hét kost s menjetek szolgámhoz, Jóbhoz és hozzatok magatokért égőáldozatot; Jób szolgám pedig imádkozni fog értetek, mert csak az ő személyét tekintem, hogy valami csúfságot nem teszek veletek, mert nem beszéltetek rólam helyeset, úgy mint szolgám, Jób.
9 And they go—Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, Zophar the Naamathite—and do as YHWH has spoken to them; and YHWH accepts the face of Job.
És mentek a Témánbeli Élífáz, a Súachbeli Bildád és a Náamabeli Czófar és cselekedtek, a mint szólott hozzájok az Örökkévaló; és tekintettel volt az Örökkévaló Jób személyére.
10 And YHWH has turned [to] the captivity of Job in his praying for his friends, and YHWH adds [to] all that Job has—to double.
Az Örökkévaló pedig helyrehozta Jób veszteségét, midőn barátjaiért imádkozott; s megtoldotta az Örökkévaló mind azt, a mi Jóbé volt, kétszeresére.
11 And all his brothers come to him, and all his sisters, and all his former acquaintances, and they eat bread with him in his house, and bemoan him, and comfort him concerning all the calamity that YHWH had brought on him, and they each gave to him one kesitah, and each one ring of gold.
Eljöttek hozzá mind a fivérei és mind a nővérei és mind az előbbi ismerősei s ettek kenyeret vele az ő házában, szánakoztak rajta és megvigasztalták őt mind azon veszedelem miatt, a melyet reá hozott az Örökkévaló, és adtak neki ki-ki egy keszítát és ki-ki egy arany gyűrűt.
12 And YHWH has blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning, and he has fourteen thousand of a flock, and six thousand camels, and one thousand pairs of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.
S az Örökkévaló megáldotta Jób végét, inkább mint a kezdetét; és volt neki tizennégyezer juha, hatezer tevéje, ezer iga marhája és ezer nőstény szamara.
13 And he has seven sons and three daughters;
S volt neki hét fia és három leánya.
14 and he calls the name of the first Jemima, and the name of the second Kezia, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.
És elnevezte az egyiket Jemímának, a másodiknak neve pedig Keczía és a harmadiknak neve Kéren-Happúkh.
15 And there have not been found women [as] beautiful as the daughters of Job in all the land, and their father gives to them an inheritance in the midst of their brothers.
S nem találtattak oly szép nők, mint Jób leányai, az egész országban; s adott nekik atyjok birtokot fivéreik között.
16 And Job lives after this one hundred and forty years, and sees his sons, and his sons’ sons, four generations;
És élt Jób ezután száznegyven esztendőt, és látta gyermekeit és gyermekeinek gyermekeit: négy nemzedéket.
17 and Job dies, aged and satisfied [with] days.
És meghalt Jób öregen és napokkal telten.
