< Job 4 >

1 And Eliphaz the Temanite answers and says:
To naah Teman acaeng Eliphaz mah,
2 “Has one tried a word with you? You are weary! And who is able to keep in words?
lok kang thuih o nahaeloe, na thaima doeh om tih, toe mi maw lokthui ai ah om thai tih?
3 Behold, you have instructed many, And feeble hands you make strong.
Khenah, kami paroeai na thuitaek boeh, thacak ai kaminawk ih ban to tha na caksak boeh.
4 Your words raise up the stumbling one, And you strengthen bowing knees.
Amtimh kami to na lok hoiah na patawnh moe, thacak khokkhu to tha na caksak boeh.
5 But now, it comes to you, And you are weary; It strikes to you, and you are troubled.
Toe vaihi loe na nuiah raihaih phak moe, palung na boeng sut boeh; ang boh moe, raihaih na tongh boeh.
6 Is your reverence not your confidence? Your hope—the perfection of your ways?
Hae loe sithaw na zithaih, na oephaih hoi toenghaih loklam ah na ai maw oh?
7 Now remember, Who, being innocent, has perished? And where have the upright been cut off?
Zaehaih tawn ai kami loe amro vai maw? To tih ai boeh loe kawbaktih ahmuen ah maw katoeng kami amro vaih? Tito poek ah.
8 As I have seen—plowers of iniquity, And sowers of misery, reap it!
Ka hnuk ih baktih toengah, kahoih ai hmuen sah kami, sethaih aanmu haeh kami ni, a sak ih baktih toengah aah.
9 From the breath of God they perish, And from the spirit of His anger [are] consumed.
To baktih kaminawk loe Sithaw ih palungphuihaih hoiah amro o moe, Sithaw anghahhaih takhi hoiah duek o.
10 The roaring of a lion, And the voice of a fierce lion, And teeth of young lions have been broken.
Nihcae loe kasan kaipui ih lok baktih, kaipui baktiah hang o cadoeh, kaipui haa kangkhaek baktiah amro o.
11 An old lion is perishing without prey, And the whelps of the lioness separate.
Kaipui mitong loe caak han moi om ai pongah duek, a caanawk loe anghmaa angtaa o.
12 And a thing is secretly brought to me, And my ear receives a little of it.
Vaihi kai khaeah tamquta hoi lok ang thuih, thuih duem ih lok to ka thaih.
13 In thoughts from visions of the night, In the falling of deep sleep on men,
Kaminawk loe iih o boih boeh, qum amang ah hnuksakhaih to ka poek naah,
14 Fear has met me, and trembling, And the multitude of my bones caused to fear.
zithaih ka nuiah phak naah, ka huhnawk anghuenh khoek to tasoeh takuenhaih hoiah ka oh.
15 And a spirit passes before my face, The hair of my flesh stands up;
Ka hmaa ah muithla caeh pongah; ka nganmui angthawk tahang;
16 It stands, and I do not discern its aspect, A likeness [is] before my eyes, Silence! And I hear a voice:
to muithla loe angdoet sut, krang loe kahoih ah amtueng ai, krang tahlip khue ni ka hnuk; to naah kamding rue, to pacoengah ka thaih ih lok maeto mah,
17 Is mortal man more righteous than God? Is a man cleaner than his Maker?
kadueh thaih kami loe Sithaw pongah toeng kue maw? Kami loe anih sahkung pongah ciim kue maw?
18 Behold, He puts no credence in His servants, Nor sets praise in His messengers.
Khenah, Sithaw mah loe a tamnanawk maeto mataeng doeh oep ai; angmah ih vankaminawk mataeng doeh sakpazaehaih hnu nahaeloe,
19 Also—the inhabitants of houses of clay (Whose foundation [is] in the dust, They bruise them before a moth).
tangphrung long hoiah sak ih im ah kaom, karaa pongah amro han kazoi kue, maiphu hoiah sak ih kaminawk cae loe kawkruk maw sakpazaehaih hnu pae tih!
20 From morning to evening are beaten down, Without any regarding, they perish forever.
Nihcae loe akhawnbang hoi duembang salakah amro o moe, mi mah doeh panoek ai ah dungzan khoek to anghmat o.
21 Has their excellence not been removed with them? They die, and not in wisdom!”
Nihcae hoihhaih loe anghmat moe, nihcae loe palunghahaih tawn ai ah duek o na ai maw? tiah thuih.
