< Job 34 >
1 And Elihu answers and says:
Afei Elihu kae se,
2 “Hear, O wise men, my words, And, O knowing ones, give ear to me.
“Mo anyansafo, muntie me nsɛm; mo nimdefo monyɛ aso mma me.
3 For the ear tries words, And the palate tastes to eat.
Efisɛ aso sɔ nsɛm hwɛ sɛnea tɛkrɛma ka aduan hwɛ no.
4 Let us choose judgment for ourselves, Let us know among ourselves what [is] good.
Momma yɛnsese, nhu nea eye ma yɛn. Momma yɛn nyinaa mmɔ mu nsua nea eye.
5 For Job has said, I have been righteous, And God has turned aside my right,
“Hiob ka se, ‘Me ho nni asɛm, nanso Onyankopɔn abu me ntɛnkyew.
6 Against my right do I lie? My arrow [is] mortal—without transgression.
Ɛwɔ mu sɛ mʼasɛm da kwan mu, nanso wobu me ɔtorofo; ɛwɔ mu sɛ menyɛɛ bɔne biara, nanso ne bɛmma no ama me apirakuru a enwu da.’
7 Who [is] a man like Job? He drinks scoffing like water,
Onipa bɛn na ɔte sɛ Hiob a ɔnom animtiaabu sɛ nsu?
8 And he has traveled for company With workers of iniquity, So as to go with men of wickedness.
Ɔne amumɔyɛfo nantew; na ɔne atirimɔdenfo nso bɔ.
9 For he has said, It does not profit a man When he delights himself with God.
Efisɛ ɔka se, ‘Sɛ onipa bɔ mmɔden sɛ ɔbɛsɔ Onyankopɔn ani a onnya so mfaso biara.’
10 Therefore, O men of heart, listen to me; Far be it from God to do wickedness, And [from] the Mighty to do perverseness,
“Enti mo mmarima a mowɔ ntease muntie me. Ɛmpare Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔbɛyɛ bɔne, sɛ Otumfo no bɛyɛ mfomso.
11 For He repays the work of man to him, And according to the path of each He causes him to find.
Nnipa nneyɛe so na ɔhwɛ tua wɔn ka; nea ɛfata ne nneyɛe na ɔma ɛba ne so.
12 Indeed, truly, God does not do wickedly, And the Mighty does not pervert judgment.
Ɛmfata sɛ wɔde mfomso susuw Onyankopɔn, na ɛmfata sɛ wɔde ntɛnkyew susuw Otumfo.
13 Who has inspected for Himself the earth? And who has placed all the habitable world?
Hena na ɔde no sii asase so? Hena na ɔde wiase nyinaa hyɛɛ ne nsa?
14 If He sets His heart on him, [If] He gathers His Spirit and His breath to Himself,
Sɛ ɛyɛɛ ne pɛ na oyii ne Honhom ne nʼahome a,
15 All flesh expires together, And man returns to dust.
anka adesamma nyinaa bɛbɔ mu ayera, na onipa bɛsan akɔ mfutuma mu.
16 And if [there is] understanding, hear this, Give ear to the voice of my words.
“Sɛ mowɔ nhumu a, muntie eyi; muntie nea meka.
17 Indeed, does one hating justice govern? Or do you condemn the Most Just?
So obi a okyi atɛntrenee betumi adi nnipa so? Mubetumi abu Ɔtreneeni kɛse no fɔ ana?
18 Who has said to a king, Worthless, To princes, Wicked?
Ɛnyɛ Ɔno na ɔka kyerɛ ahemfo se, ‘Mo so nni mfaso,’ na ɔka kyerɛɛ atitiriw se, ‘Moyɛ atirimɔdenfo,’
19 That has not accepted the person of princes, Nor has known the rich before the poor, For all of them [are] a work of His hands.
nea ɔnhwɛ mmapɔmma anim na onyiyi adefo ne ahiafo mu, efisɛ wɔn nyinaa yɛ ne nsa ano adwuma.
20 [In] a moment they die, And at midnight people shake, And they pass away, And they remove the mighty without hand.
Wowuwu mmere tiaa bi mu, wɔ anadwo dasu mu; nnipa no ho wosow na wɔsen kɔ; ahoɔdenfo totɔ a emfi nipa.
21 For His eyes [are] on the ways of each, And He sees all his steps.
“Nʼani hwɛ nnipa akwan; na ohu wɔn anammɔntu biara.
22 There is no darkness nor death-shade, For workers of iniquity to be hidden there;
Baabiara nni hɔ a aduru sum, sum kabii, a amumɔyɛfo betumi ahintaw.
23 For He does not permit man anymore, To go to God in judgment,
Ɛho nhia Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔbɛhwehwɛ nnipa mu bio, a enti ɛsɛ sɛ wɔba nʼanim begye atemmu.
24 He breaks the mighty—no searching! And He appoints others in their stead.
Ɔbobɔ abirɛmpɔn gu a ɔnyɛ nhwehwɛmu biara, na ɔde afoforo sisi wɔn anan mu.
25 Therefore He knows their works, And He has overturned by night, And they are bruised.
Efisɛ ohu wɔn nneyɛe, otu wɔn gu anadwo na wɔdwerɛw wɔn.
26 As wicked He has struck them, In the place of beholders.
Otua wɔn amumɔyɛsɛm so ka wɔ faako a obiara betumi ahu wɔn,
27 Because that against right They have turned aside from after Him, And have considered none of His ways,
efisɛ wɔman fii nʼakyi kɔe na wɔampɛ nʼakwan biara anhwɛ.
28 To cause to come to Him The cry of the poor, And He hears the cry of the afflicted.
Wɔmaa ahiafo sufrɛ duu nʼanim na ɛma ɔtee mmɔborɔni su.
29 And He gives rest, and who makes wrong? And hides the face, and who beholds it? And in reference to a nation and to a man, [It is] the same.
Nanso sɛ ɔyɛ komm a, hena na obetumi abu no fɔ? Sɛ ɔde nʼanim hintaw nso a, hena na obehu no? Nanso odi onipa ne ɔman so pɛpɛɛpɛ,
30 From the reigning of a profane man, From the snares of a people;
ɔmma onipa a onnim Nyame nni hene, sɛnea ɔrensum nnipa no mfiri.
31 For has any said to God: I have taken away, I do not do corruptly,
“Sɛ ɛba sɛ onipa ka kyerɛ Onyankopɔn se, ‘Mayɛ bɔne na merenyɛ bɔne bio.
32 Besides [that which] I see, You show me, If I have done iniquity—I do not add?
Kyerɛ me na minhu; na sɛ mayɛ bɔne a, merenyɛ saa bio.’
33 Does He repay by you, that you have refused—That you choose, and not I? And what you have known, speak.
So ɛsɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn gyina nea woka so tua wo ka, wɔ bere a woayɛ sɛ worennu wo ho ana? Ɛsɛ sɛ wusi gyinae, ɛnyɛ me; enti ka nea wunim kyerɛ me.
34 Let men of heart say to me, And a wise man is listening to me:
“Nnipa a wɔwɔ ntease pae mu ka, nimdefo a wotie me ka kyerɛ me se,
35 Job—he does not speak with knowledge, And his words [are] not with wisdom.
‘Hiob nkasa nimdeɛ kwan so; aba biara nni ne kasa mu.’
36 My Father! Let Job be tried—to victory, Because of answers for men of iniquity,
Ao, sɛ wɔsɔɔ Hiob hwɛ kɔɔ akyiri a anka eye, efisɛ oyiyii nsɛm ano sɛ omumɔyɛfo!
37 For he adds to his sin, He vomits transgression among us, And multiplies his sayings to God.”
Ɔde atuatew ka ne bɔne ho; ɔde ahantan bɔ ne nsam gu yɛn so na ɔma ne nsɛm a ɔka tia Onyankopɔn no dɔɔso.”
