< Job 28 >
1 “Surely there is a source for silver, And a place for the gold they refine;
Nítòótọ́, koto fàdákà ń bẹ, àti ibi tí wọ́n ti máa ń da wúrà.
2 Iron is taken from the dust, And bronze [from] the firm stone.
Nínú ilẹ̀ ni à ń gbé ń wa irin, bàbà ni a sì ń dà láti inú òkúta wá.
3 He has set an end to darkness, And he is searching to all perfection, A stone of darkness and death-shade.
Ènìyàn ni ó fi òpin si òkùnkùn, ó sì ṣe àwárí ìṣúra láti inú òjìji ikú sí ìhà gbogbo.
4 A stream has broken out from a sojourner, Those forgotten of the foot, They were low, they wandered from man.
Wọ́n wa ihò ilẹ̀ tí ó jì sí àwọn tí ń gbé òkè, àwọn tí ẹsẹ̀ ènìyàn gbàgbé wọ́n rọ́ sí ìsàlẹ̀, wọ́n rọ́ sí ìsàlẹ̀ jìnnà sí àwọn ènìyàn.
5 The earth! Bread comes forth from it, And its under-part is turned like fire.
Bí ó ṣe ti ilẹ̀ ni, nínú rẹ̀ ni oúnjẹ ti ń jáde wá, àti ohun tí ó wà ní ìsàlẹ̀ ni ó yí padà bi iná;
6 A place of the sapphire [are] its stones, And it has dust of gold.
òkúta ibẹ̀ ni ibi òkúta safire, o sì ní erùpẹ̀ wúrà.
7 A path—a ravenous bird has not known it, Nor has an eye of the falcon scorched it,
Ipa ọ̀nà náà ni ẹyẹ kò mọ̀, àti ojú gúnnugún kò rí i rí.
8 Nor have the sons of pride trodden it, The fierce lion has not passed over it.
Àwọn ẹranko agbéraga kò rìn ibẹ̀ rí, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kìnnìún tí ń ké ramúramù kò kọjá níbẹ̀ rí.
9 He sent forth his hand against the flint, He overturned mountains from the root.
Ó fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ lé akọ òkúta, ó yí òkè ńlá po láti ìdí rẹ̀ wá.
10 Among rocks, he has cleaved brooks, And his eye has seen every precious thing.
Ó sì la ipa odò ṣíṣàn nínú àpáta, ojú inú rẹ̀ sì rí ohun iyebíye gbogbo.
11 He has bound overflowing rivers, And the hidden thing brings out [to] light.
Ó sì ṣe ìṣàn odò kí ó má ṣe kún àkúnya, ó sì mú ohun tí ó pamọ́ hàn jáde wá sí ìmọ́lẹ̀.
12 And the wisdom—from where is it found? And where [is] this, the place of understanding?
Ṣùgbọ́n níbo ni á ó gbé wá ọgbọ́n rí, níbo sì ni òye ń gbe?
13 Man has not known its arrangement, Nor is it found in the land of the living.
Ènìyàn kò mọ iye rẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò le è rí i ní ilẹ̀ àwọn alààyè.
14 The deep has said, It [is] not in me, And the sea has said, It is not with me.
Ọ̀gbun wí pé, “Kò sí nínú mi”; omi òkun sì wí pé, “Kò si nínú mi.”
15 Gold is not given for it, Nor is silver weighed—its price.
A kò le è fi wúrà rà á, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò le è fi òsùwọ̀n wọn fàdákà ní iye rẹ̀.
16 It is not valued with pure gold of Ophir, With precious onyx and sapphire,
A kò le è fi wúrà Ofiri, tàbí òkúta óníkìsì iyebíye, tàbí òkúta safire díye lé e.
17 Gold and crystal do not equal it, Nor [is] its exchange a vessel of fine gold.
Wúrà àti òkúta kristali kò tó ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò le è fi ohun èlò wúrà ṣe pàṣípàrọ̀ rẹ̀.
18 Corals and pearl are not remembered, The acquisition of wisdom [is] above rubies.
A kò lè dárúkọ iyùn tàbí òkúta jasperi; iye ọgbọ́n sì ju iyùn lọ.
19 The topaz of Cush does not equal it, It is not valued with pure gold.
Òkúta topasi ti Kuṣi kò tó ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò le fi wúrà dáradára díwọ̀n iye rẹ̀.
20 And the wisdom—from where does it come? And where [is] this, the place of understanding?
Níbo ha ni ọgbọ́n ti jáde wá? Tàbí níbo ni òye ń gbé?
21 It has been hid from the eyes of all living. And from the bird of the heavens It has been hidden.
A rí i pé, ó fi ara sinko kúrò ní ojú àwọn alààyè gbogbo, ó sì fi ara sin fún ẹyẹ ojú ọ̀run.
22 Destruction and death have said: With our ears we have heard its fame.
Ibi ìparun àti ikú wí pé, àwa ti fi etí wa gbúròó rẹ̀.
23 God has understood its way, And He has known its place.
Ọlọ́run ni ó mọ òye ipa ọ̀nà rẹ̀, òun ni ó sì mọ ibi tí ó ń gbé.
24 For He looks to the ends of the earth, He sees under the whole heavens,
Nítorí pé ó wòye dé òpin ayé, ó sì rí gbogbo ìsàlẹ̀ ọ̀run,
25 To make a weight for the wind, And He meted out the waters in measure.
láti dà òsùwọ̀n fún afẹ́fẹ́, ó sì fi òsùwọ̀n wọ́n omi.
26 In His making for the rain a limit, And a way for the brightness of the voices,
Nígbà tí ó pàṣẹ fún òjò, tí ó sì la ọ̀nà fún mọ̀nàmọ́ná àrá,
27 Then He has seen and declares it, He has prepared it, and also searched it out,
nígbà náà ni ó rí i, ó sì sọ ọ́ jáde; ó pèsè rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, ó sì ṣe ìwádìí rẹ̀ rí.
28 And He says to man: Behold, fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom, And to turn from evil [is] understanding.”
Àti fún ènìyàn ni ó wí pé, “Kíyèsi i, ẹ̀rù Olúwa èyí ni ọgbọ́n, àti láti jáde kúrò nínú ìwà búburú èyí ni òye.”
