< Job 28 >

1 “Surely there is a source for silver, And a place for the gold they refine;
“Nitie kama ikunyoe fedha kod kama ilenyoe dhahabu.
2 Iron is taken from the dust, And bronze [from] the firm stone.
Chuma ikunyo koa e lowo, kendo mula ilenyo kigolo kuom kite.
3 He has set an end to darkness, And he is searching to all perfection, A stone of darkness and death-shade.
Ji kunyo kite ma nengogi tek kuonde matut mogik kendo motimo mudho, omenyo nyaka ei buche maboyo miwuoro, nyaka kuonde molil ti, mondo onwangʼie kite mabeyo.
4 A stream has broken out from a sojourner, Those forgotten of the foot, They were low, they wandered from man.
Opowo kor gode modhi mabor gi kuonde ma ji odakie, mochop nyaka kuonde ma ji ok wuothie; ka giliero e tonde marundore koni gi koni.
5 The earth! Bread comes forth from it, And its under-part is turned like fire.
Lowo e kama chiemo wuokie, to pinyne ibaroe lwendni gi mach.
6 A place of the sapphire [are] its stones, And it has dust of gold.
Lwendinigo ema kite ma nengogi tek miluongo ni Safir wuokie kendo buru ema otingʼo dhahabu.
7 A path—a ravenous bird has not known it, Nor has an eye of the falcon scorched it,
Kuom winy machamo ringʼo, onge moro amora mongʼeyo yore manie buchego, kendo onge achuth mosenene gi wangʼe.
8 Nor have the sons of pride trodden it, The fierce lion has not passed over it.
Ondiegi mager pok nowuotho kuondego, kendo kata sibuor pok oruto kuno.
9 He sent forth his hand against the flint, He overturned mountains from the root.
Ji baro lwanda matek ka chuma kendo thulo gode oko gie tiendegi.
10 Among rocks, he has cleaved brooks, And his eye has seen every precious thing.
Otucho kor lwanda; mi wengene ne mwandu duto manie kor gode.
11 He has bound overflowing rivers, And the hidden thing brings out [to] light.
Omanyo kuonde ma aore ochakoree, mi okel gik mopandi e lela.
12 And the wisdom—from where is it found? And where [is] this, the place of understanding?
“To rieko to diyud kanye? Koso ere kuma ngʼeyo wuokie?
13 Man has not known its arrangement, Nor is it found in the land of the living.
Dhano mangima ok ongʼeyo kaka iyude; kendo ok oyudre e piny joma ngima.
14 The deep has said, It [is] not in me, And the sea has said, It is not with me.
Kut wacho ni, ‘Oonge e iya;’ to nam wacho ni, ‘Oonge koda ka.’
15 Gold is not given for it, Nor is silver weighed—its price.
Ok nyal ngʼiewe gi dhahabu maler mogik kendo nengone ok nyal pim gi fedha.
16 It is not valued with pure gold of Ophir, With precious onyx and sapphire,
Ok nyal ngʼiewe gi dhahabu mokuny Ofir, kata gi kite ma nengogi tek kaka Oniks kata Safir.
17 Gold and crystal do not equal it, Nor [is] its exchange a vessel of fine gold.
Dhahabu kata kite mamil ma nengogi tek ok nyal pimego bende ok nyal pime gi gima olos gi dhahabu.
18 Corals and pearl are not remembered, The acquisition of wisdom [is] above rubies.
Kit nam ma nengone tek kod kit ombo marieny ok di wuo kuomgi nikech nengo rieko oyombo nengo kit rubi maratiglo.
19 The topaz of Cush does not equal it, It is not valued with pure gold.
Kata mana kit topaz mokuny Kush ok nyal pim kode; ok nyal ngʼiewe gi dhahabu malerie mogik.
20 And the wisdom—from where does it come? And where [is] this, the place of understanding?
“To rieko to diyud kanye? Koso ere kuma ngʼeyo wuokie?
21 It has been hid from the eyes of all living. And from the bird of the heavens It has been hidden.
Opondo ne wenge gik mangima duto, kendo opande koda kane winy mafuyo e kor polo.
22 Destruction and death have said: With our ears we have heard its fame.
Kethruok gi tho jowacho ni, ‘Humbe kende ema osechopo e itwa!’
23 God has understood its way, And He has known its place.
Nyasaye ema ongʼeyo yo miyudego kendo en kende ema ongʼeyo kama odakie,
24 For He looks to the ends of the earth, He sees under the whole heavens,
nikech wengene okwako tungʼ piny gi tungʼ piny kendo oneno gimoro amora manie bwo polo.
25 To make a weight for the wind, And He meted out the waters in measure.
Kane oguro teko mar yamo kendo opimo giko nembe,
26 In His making for the rain a limit, And a way for the brightness of the voices,
kane ogolo chik ne koth kendo ogoro yor mil polo,
27 Then He has seen and declares it, He has prepared it, and also searched it out,
e kinde mane onenoe rieko mi opimo berne kaka chalo mi onwangʼo.
28 And He says to man: Behold, fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom, And to turn from evil [is] understanding.”
Kendo nowachone dhano ni, ‘Luoro Ruoth Nyasaye kelo rieko, kendo ka idwaro bedo gi ngʼeyo to nyaka iwe richo!’”
