Job 26
1 And Job answers and says:
Toda Job je odgovoril in rekel:
2 “How you have helped the powerless, Saved an arm not strong!
»Kako si pomagal tistemu, ki je brez moči? Kako rešuješ laket, ki nima moči?
3 How you have given counsel to the unwise, And made known wise plans in abundance.
Kako si svetoval tistemu, ki nima modrosti? Kako si obilno oznanil stvar, kakor je ta?
4 With whom have you declared words? And whose breath came forth from you?
Komu si izrekal besede? Čigav duh je prišel od tebe?
5 The Rephaim are formed, Also their inhabitants beneath the waters.
Mrtve stvari so oblikovane pod vodami in njihovi prebivalci.
Pekel je nag pred njim in uničenje nima pokrivala. (Sheol h7585)
7 Stretching out the north over desolation, Hanging the earth on nothing,
Sever izteguje nad praznim krajem in zemljo obeša na nič.
8 Binding up the waters in His thick clouds, And the cloud is not burst under them.
Vode povezuje v svoje debele oblake in pod njimi se oblak ne pretrga.
9 Taking hold of the face of the throne, Spreading His cloud over it.
Zadržuje obličje svojega prestola in svoj oblak razprostira nad njim.
10 He has placed a limit on the waters, To the boundary of light with darkness.
Vode je obdal z vezmi, dokler dan in noč ne prideta do konca.
11 Pillars of the heavens tremble, And they wonder because of His rebuke.
Stebri nebes trepetajo in so osupli ob njegovem opominu.
12 By His power He has quieted the sea, And by His understanding struck the proud.
On s svojo močjo razdeljuje morje in s svojim razumevanjem udarja po ponosnih.
13 He beautified the heavens by His Spirit, His hand has formed the fleeing serpent.
S svojim duhom je okrasil nebo; njegova roka je oblikovala sprijeno kačo.
14 Behold, these [are] the borders of His way, and how little a matter is heard of Him, and who understands the thunder of His might?”
Glej! To so delčki njegovih poti. Toda kako majhen delček je slišati o njem? Toda kdo lahko razume grom njegove moči?«
