< Job 21 >
1 And Job answers and says:
“Konsa, Job te reponn:
2 “Hear my word diligently, And this is your consolation.
Koute pawòl mwen byen pre; kite sa sèvi tankou chemen pou konsole.
3 Bear with me, and I speak, And after my speaking—you may deride.
Pran pasyans pou m kab pale, epi tann lè m fini pou ou kab giyonnen m.
4 [Is] my complaint [against] man? And if [so], why may my temper not become short?
Pou mwen, èske plent mwen an se anvè yon nonm? Epi poukisa mwen pa ta dwe manke pasyans?
5 Turn to me, and be astonished, And put hand to mouth.
Gade mwen! Vin etone! Kouvri bouch ou ak men ou!
6 Indeed, if I have remembered, then I have been troubled. And my flesh has taken fright.
Lè m sonje, mwen twouble. Chè m vin ranpli ak laperèz.
7 Why do the wicked live? They have become old, Indeed, they have been mighty in wealth.
“Poukisa mechan yo viv toujou, vin vye e vin pwisan nèt?
8 Their seed is established, Before their face with them, And their offspring before their eyes.
Desandan yo vin etabli pou yo ka wè yo, ak pitit pa yo devan zye yo.
9 Their houses [are] peace without fear, Nor [is] a rod of God on them.
Lakay yo pwoteje kont laperèz, e baton Bondye pa janm rive sou yo.
10 His bullock breeds without fail. His cow brings forth safely, and does not miscarry.
Towo yo toujou kouple san manke. Vach yo fè pitit e pa fè foskouch.
11 They send forth their sucklings as a flock, And their children skip,
Yo mete pitit yo deyò tankou yon bann. Yo flannen e danse toupatou.
12 They lift [themselves] up at timbrel and harp, And rejoice at the sound of a pipe.
Yo chante ak tanbouren avèk ap, e rejwi ak son flit la.
13 They wear out their days in good, And in a moment go down [to] Sheol. (Sheol )
Yo pase jou yo nan byen reyisi. Epi konsa yo desann nan Sejou Lanmò Yo. (Sheol )
14 And they say to God, Turn aside from us, And the knowledge of Your ways We have not desired.
Yo di Bondye: ‘Kite nou!’ Nou pa menm vle konnen chemen Ou yo.
15 What [is] the Mighty One that we serve Him? And what do we profit when we meet with Him?
‘Se kilès Toupwisan an ye pou nou ta sèvi Li, e ki rekonpans nou ta twouve si nou ta priye anvè Li?’
16 Behold, their good [is] not in their hand (The counsel of the wicked Has been far from me).
Gade byen, bonè pa yo pa rete nan men yo; konsèy a mechan yo lwen mwen.
17 How often is the lamp of the wicked extinguished, And their calamity comes on them? He apportions pangs in His anger.
“Èske se souvan ke lanp a mechan yo etenn? Èske malè konn vin tonbe sou yo? Èske Bondye mezire destriksyon nan lakòlè Li?
18 They are as straw before wind, And as chaff a windstorm has stolen away,
Èske se tankou pay nan van yo ye vrè, pay ke van pouse ale?
19 God lays up for his sons his sorrow, He gives repayment to him—and he knows.
Ou di ke ‘Bondye konsève inikite a yon nonm pou fis li yo.’ Kite Bondye rekonpanse li menm pou l konnen sa.
20 His own eyes see his destruction, And he drinks of the wrath of the Mighty.
Kite pwòp zye pa li wè lè l pouri gate. Kite li bwè lakòlè Bondye.
21 For what [is] his delight in his house after him, And the number of his months cut off?
Paske ki konsiderasyon ki genyen pou lakay sila ki swiv li a, lè fòs kantite mwa li yo vin koupe?
22 Does [one] teach knowledge to God, Since He judges [those] on high?
“Èske gen moun kab bay Bondye konesans? Se Li menm ki jije sila anwo yo.
23 This [one] dies in his perfect strength, Wholly at ease and quiet.
Yon moun mouri ak tout fòs li, byen alèz e kal;
24 His breasts have been full of milk, And marrow moistens his bones.
Tout bokal li yo plen lèt e tout mwèl zo l li byen mou,
25 And this [one] dies with a bitter soul, And has not eaten with gladness.
Pandan yon lòt mouri ak yon nanm anmè, e pa janm goute nan sa ki bon.
26 Together they lie down on the dust, And the worm covers them over.
Ansanm yo kouche nan pousyè a e vè vin kouvri yo.
27 Behold, I have known your thoughts, And the schemes against me you do wrongfully.
“Gade byen, mwen konnen sa ou ap panse ak plan nou sèvi pou fè m tò yo.
28 For you say, Where [is] the house of the noble? And where the tent—the dwelling places of the wicked?
Paske ou ap di: ‘Kote kay a prens lan e kote tant kote mechan an rete a?’
29 Have you not asked those passing by the way? And do you not know their signs?
Èske nou pa janm mande vwayajè yo? Èske nou pa konnen temwayaj yo bay?
30 That the wicked is spared to a day of calamity. They are brought to a day of wrath.
Paske mechan an, li menm, konsève pou gwo jou malè a; Y ap vin parèt nan jou kòlè a.
31 Who declares his way to his face? And [for] that which he has done, Who gives repayment to him?
Se kilès ki va fè l repwòch pou zak li yo? E kilès ki va rekonpanse li pou sa l fè?
32 And he is brought to the graves, And a watch is kept over the heap.
Pandan l ap pote nan tonbo a, y ap veye tonm li.
33 The clods of the valley have been sweet to him, And he draws every man after him, And there is no numbering before him.
Bòl tè vale a va kouvri l ak tout dousè; anplis, tout moun va swiv dèyè li, menm ak gran fòs san kontwòl yo, yo te ale devan l.
34 And how do you comfort me [with] vanity, And trespass has been left in your answers?”
Konsa, se kijan pou m ta twouve rekonfò nan konsolasyon an ven nou yo? Paske repons nou yo fèt ak manti.”
