< Job 17 >
1 “My spirit has been destroyed, My days extinguished—graves [are] for me.
“Lespri m fin kase. Jou m yo etenn; tonbo a pare pou mwen.
2 If not—mockeries [are] with me. And my eye lodges in their provocations.
Anverite mokè yo avè m, e zye m fikse sou pwovokasyon yo.
3 Now place my pledge with You; Who is he that strikes hand with me?
“Depoze la koulye a, yon sekirite. Kanpe kon garanti mwen, ak Ou menm. Se kilès ki kab antann avè m?
4 For You have hidden their heart from understanding, Therefore You do not exalt them.
Paske Ou te anpeche kè yo konprann; pou sa, ou pa p egzalte yo.
5 For a portion he shows friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.
Sila ki enfòme kont zanmi li yo pou piyaj la, menm zye pitit li yo va vin gate.
6 And He set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And I am a wonder before them.
“Men Li te fè m vin tounen yon vye pwovèb pou pèp la. Konsa, yo vin krache sou figi m.
7 And my eye is dim from sorrow, And my members—all of them—as a shadow.
Anplis, zye m vin pa wè klè akoz doulè m, e tout nanm mwen tankou lonbraj.
8 The upright are astonished at this, and the innocent stirs himself up against the profane.
Moun ladwati va byen twouble ak sa, e linosan an va leve li menm kont enkwayan yo.
9 And the righteous lays hold [on] his way, And the clean of hands adds strength.
Malgre, moun dwat la va kenbe chemen li e sila ki gen men pwòp yo va vin pi fò e pi fò.
10 But please return and come in, all of you, And I do not find a wise man among you.
Men nou tout, retounen; malgre mwen pa twouve yon nonm saj pami nou.
11 My days have passed by, My plans have been broken off, The possessions of my heart!
Jou pa m yo fin pase, plan mwen yo vin chire nèt, menm dezi a kè mwen yo.
12 They appoint night for day, Light [is] near because of darkness.
Yo fè lannwit mwen vin sanble lajounen. Yo di ‘limyè a toupre’ lè tout se fènwa.
13 If I wait—Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my bed. (Sheol )
Si mwen chache Sejou mò yo kon lakay mwen, si mwen fè kabann mwen nan tenèb la; (Sheol )
14 To corruption I have called: You [are] my father. To the worm: My mother and my sister.
Si mwen kriye a fòs tonbo a: ‘Se ou ki papa m’; epi a vè a: “Ou se manman m ak sè m’;
15 And where [is] my hope now? Indeed, my hope, who beholds it?
Alò, koulye a, se kibò espwa mwen ye? Epi se kilès k ap okipe espwa m?
16 You go down [to] the parts of Sheol, If we may rest together on the dust.” (Sheol )
Èske espwa m va desann avèk mwen nan Sejou Lanmò yo? Èske se ansanm n ap desann nan pousyè a?” (Sheol )
