< Job 17 >
1 “My spirit has been destroyed, My days extinguished—graves [are] for me.
“Mtima wanga wasweka, masiku anga atha, manda akundidikira.
2 If not—mockeries [are] with me. And my eye lodges in their provocations.
Ndithudi, anthu ondiseka andizungulira; maso anga akupenyetsetsa mdani wanga.
3 Now place my pledge with You; Who is he that strikes hand with me?
“Inu Mulungu, patseni chikole chimene mukufuna. Ndani wina amene adzandiperekera ine chikole?
4 For You have hidden their heart from understanding, Therefore You do not exalt them.
Inu mwatseka maganizo awo kuti asamvetse zinthu; choncho simudzawalola kuti apambane.
5 For a portion he shows friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.
Ngati munthu apereka mnzake chifukwa cha chuma, ana ake sadzaona mwayi.
6 And He set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And I am a wonder before them.
“Mulungu wandisandutsa chisudzo chochiseka aliyense, munthu amene anthu amalavulira malovu nkhope yake.
7 And my eye is dim from sorrow, And my members—all of them—as a shadow.
Mʼmaso mwanga mwada ndi chisoni; ndawonda ndi mutu womwe.
8 The upright are astonished at this, and the innocent stirs himself up against the profane.
Anthu olungama akudabwa nazo zimenezi; anthu osachimwa akupsera mtima anthu osapembedza Mulungu.
9 And the righteous lays hold [on] his way, And the clean of hands adds strength.
Komabe anthu olungama adzasunga njira zawo, ndipo anthu a makhalidwe abwino mphamvu zawo zidzanka zikuchuluka.
10 But please return and come in, all of you, And I do not find a wise man among you.
“Tsono bwerani nonsenu, bwerezaninso mawu anuwo, sindidzapezapo munthu wanzeru pakati panupo.
11 My days have passed by, My plans have been broken off, The possessions of my heart!
Masiku anga atha, zimene ndinakonza zalephereka, pamodzinso ndi zokhumba za mtima wanga.
12 They appoint night for day, Light [is] near because of darkness.
Anthu awa amasandutsa usiku kukhala usana, nthawi ya usiku iwo amati ‘kwatsala pangʼono kucha.’
13 If I wait—Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my bed. (Sheol )
Ngati nyumba imene ndikuyiyembekezera ndi manda, ngati ndiyala bedi langa mu mdima, (Sheol )
14 To corruption I have called: You [are] my father. To the worm: My mother and my sister.
ngati ndinena kwa dzenje la manda ‘ndinu abambo anga,’ ndiponso kwa mphutsi kuti, ‘ndinu amayi anga’ kapena ‘mlongo wanga,’
15 And where [is] my hope now? Indeed, my hope, who beholds it?
tsono chiyembekezo changa chili kuti? Ndani angaone populumukira panga?
16 You go down [to] the parts of Sheol, If we may rest together on the dust.” (Sheol )
Ndithu sindidzakhalanso ndi chiyembekezo chilichonse, polowa mʼmanda, pamene ndidzatsikira ku fumbi.” (Sheol )
