Job 12
1 And Job answers and says:
Iyyoob akkana jedhee deebise:
2 “Truly—you [are] the people, and wisdom dies with you.
“Nama jechuun dhugumaan isin; ogummaanis isin wajjin duuti!
3 I also have a heart like you, I am not fallen more than you, And with whom is there not like these?
Garuu anis akkuma keessan sammuun qaba; ani isinii gad miti. Namni waan akkanaa hin beekne eenyu?
4 I am a laughter to his friend: He calls to God, and He answers him, A laughter [is] the perfect righteous one.
“Ani nama Waaqa waammatee deebii argate taʼu illee, michoota koo biratti nama kolfaa taʼeera. Ani utuun nama qajeelaa hirʼina hin qabne taʼee jiruu nama kolfaa taʼeera.
5 A torch—despised in the thoughts of the secure Is prepared for those sliding with the feet.
Warri itti tole rakkinatti qoosu; nama kufuuf miilli isaa mucucaateenis kun hiree isaati jedhu.
6 The tents of spoilers are at peace, And those provoking God have confidence, Into whose hand God has brought.
Dunkaanni saamtotaa hin jeeqamu; warri Waaqa isaanii harkatti baatanii jooran, warri Waaqa dheekkamsiisan nagaan jiraatu.
7 And yet, now ask [one of] the beasts, And it shows you, And a bird of the heavens, And it declares to you.
“Mee horii gaafadhu; isaan si barsiisu; yookaan simbirroota samii gaafadhu; isaan sitti himu;
8 Or talk to the earth, and it shows you, And fishes of the sea recount to you:
yookaan lafatti dubbadhu; inni si barsiisa; yookaan qurxummiiwwan galaanaa sitti haa himan.
9 Who has not known in all these, That the hand of YHWH has done this?
Akka harki Waaqayyoo waan kana hojjete, isaan kanneen hunda keessaa eenyutu hin beekne?
10 In whose hand [is] the breath of every living thing, And the spirit of all flesh of man.
Lubbuun uumama hundaa, hafuurri nama hundaas harka isaa keessa jira.
11 Does the ear not try words? And the palate taste food for itself?
Akkuma arrabni nyaata afaaniin qabu, gurris dubbii dhagaʼee addaan hin baasuu?
12 With the very aged [is] wisdom, And [with] length of days [is] understanding.
Ogummaan jaarsolii biratti, hubannaanis warra umuriin dheerate biratti argama mitii?
13 With Him [are] wisdom and might, To Him [are] counsel and understanding.
“Ogummaa fi humni kan Waaqaa ti; gorsii fi hubannaanis kan isaa ti.
14 Behold, He breaks down, and it is not built up, He shuts against a man, And it is not opened.
Waan inni diigu eenyu iyyuu deebisee ijaaruu hin dandaʼu; nama inni hidhe eenyu iyyuu hiikuu hin dandaʼu.
15 Behold, He keeps in the waters, and they are dried up, And He sends them forth, And they overturn the land.
Yoo inni bishaan dhowwate, hongeetu buʼa; yoo inni gad dhiise immoo biyya balleessa.
16 With Him [are] strength and wisdom, His the deceived and deceiver.
Jabinnii fi ogummaan kan isaa ti; namni gowwoomfamuu fi inni gowwoomsus kanuma isaa ti.
17 Causing counselors to go away [as] a spoil, Indeed, He makes fools of judges.
Inni gorsitoota qullaa deemsisa; abbootii murtiis gowwoota godha.
18 He has opened the bands of kings, And He binds a girdle on their loins.
Inni mootota irraa hidhaa hiikee, mudhii isaaniitti sabbata hidha.
19 Causing ministers to go away [as] a spoil And strong ones He overthrows.
Luboota qullaa deemsisa; jajjabeeyyiis ni gaggaragalcha.
20 Turning aside the lip of the steadfast, And the reason of the aged He takes away.
Gorsitoota amanamoo afaan qabachiisa; hubannaa jaarsoliis irraa fuudha.
21 Pouring contempt on princes, And the girdle of the mighty He made feeble.
Warra kabajamootti salphina fida; warra jajjaboo immoo hidhata hiikachiisa.
22 Removing deep things out of darkness, And He brings out to light death-shade.
Inni icciitii dukkanaa keessaa ifatti baasa; dukkana limixiis ifatti geeddara.
23 Magnifying the nations, and He destroys them, Spreading out the nations, and He quiets them.
Inni saboota ni guddisa; ni balleessas; saboota ni baayʼisa; ni bittinneessas.
24 Turning aside the heart Of the heads of the people of the land, And He causes them to wander In vacancy—no way!
Bulchitoota addunyaa hubannaa malee hambisa; gammoojjii daandii hin qabne keessas isaan joorsa.
25 They feel darkness, and not light, He causes them to wander as a drunkard.”
Isaan dukkana ifa hin qabne keessa qaqqabannaadhaan deemu; inni akka isaan akkuma nama machaaʼeetti gatantaranis ni godha.
