Jeremiah 9
1 Who makes my head waters, And my eye a fountain of tears? And I weep by day and by night, For the wounded of the daughter of my people.
Kto mi to da, aby głowa moja wodą była, a oczy moje źródłem łez, abym we dnie i w nocy płakał pomordowanych córki ludu mego!
2 Who gives me in a wilderness A lodging-place for travelers? And I leave my people, and go from them, For all of them [are] adulterers, An assembly of treacherous ones.
Któż mi da na puszczy gospodę podróżnych, abym opuścił lud mój, i odszedł od nich? bo wszyscy są cudzołożnicy, zgraja przestępników;
3 “And they bend their tongue, Their bow [is] a lie, And they have not been mighty for steadfastness in the land, For they have gone forth from evil to evil, And they have not known Me,” A declaration of YHWH!
I naciągają języka swego do kłamstwa jako łuku swego, zmocnili się na ziemi, ale nie ku prawdzie; bo ze złego w złe postępują, a mnie nie znają, mówi Pan.
4 “You each beware of his friend, And do not trust any brother, For every brother utterly supplants, For every friend slanderously walks,
Każdy niech się strzeże bliźniego swego, a nie każdemu bratu dowierza; bo każdy brat jest na tem jakoby podszedł, a każdy bliźni zdradliwie postępuje.
5 And they each mock at his friend, And they do not speak truth, They taught their tongue to speak falsehood, They have labored to commit iniquity.
Każdy też bliźniego swego oszukuje, a prawdy nie mówi; naucza języka swego mówić kłamstwo, źle czyniąc ustawają
6 Your dwelling [is] in the midst of deceit, Through deceit they refused to know Me,” A declaration of YHWH.
Mieszkanie twoje, o proroku! jest w pośrodku ludu zdradliwego; dla zdrad nie chcą mię poznać, mówi Pan.
7 Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Behold, I am refining them, and have tried them, For how do I deal with the daughter of My people?
A przetoż tak mówi Pan zastępów: Oto Ja pławiąc ich próbowałem ich; jakoż się tedy już mam obchodzić z córką ludu mego?
8 Their tongue [is] a slaughtering arrow, It has spoken deceit in its mouth, It speaks peace with its neighbor, And in its heart it lays its ambush,
Strzałą śmiertelną jest język ich, zdradę mówi; usty swemi o pokoju z przyjacielem swym mówi, ale w sercu swem zakłada nań sidła swoje.
9 Do I not see after them for these things?” A declaration of YHWH, “Does My soul not avenge itself against a nation such as this?”
Izali dlatego nienawidzę ich? mówi Pan; izali nad narodem takowym nie pomści się dusza moja?
10 I lift up weeping and wailing for the mountains, And a lamentation for the habitations of the wilderness, For they have been burned up without any passing over, Nor have they heard the voice of livestock, From the bird of the heavens and to the beast—they have fled, They have gone.
Dla tych gór udam się na płacz i na narzekanie, i dla pastwisk, które są na puszczy, na kwilenie; bo spalone będą, tak, że nie będzie, ktoby je przechodził, ani tam głosu bydlęcia słychać będzie; ptastwo niebieskie i bydlęta rozbieżą się i odejdą.
11 “And I make Jerusalem become heaps, A habitation of dragons, And I make the cities of Judah a desolation, Without inhabitant.”
I obrócę Jeruzalem w gromady rumu, w mieszkanie smoków; a miasta Judzkie obrócę w pustynię, tak, iż nie będzie obywatela.
12 Who [is] the wise man? And he understands this, And he to whom the mouth of YHWH spoke? And he declares it, For why has the land perished? It has been burned up as a wilderness, Without any passing through.
Któż jest tak mądry, coby to wyrozumiał? a do kogo mówiły usta Pańskie, coby to oznajmił, dlaczego zginąć ma ta ziemia, i wypalona być ma jako pustynia, tak aby nie było, ktoby ją przeszedł?
13 And YHWH says: “Because of their forsaking My law that I set before them, And they have not listened to My voice nor walked in it,
Bo Pan mówi: Iż opuścili zakon mój, którym im przedłożył, a nie słuchali głosu mojego, ani chodzili za nim;
14 And they walk after the stubbornness of their heart, And after the Ba‘alim, That their fathers taught them,”
Ale chodzili za uporem serca swego i za Baalem, czego ich nauczyli ojcowie ich.
15 Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: “Behold, I am causing them—this people—to eat wormwood, And I have caused them to drink water of gall,
Dlatego tak mówi Pan zastępów, Bóg Izraelski: Oto Ja nakarmię ich, to jest lud ten, piołunem, a napoję ich wodą żółci.
16 And I have scattered them among nations Which they did not know, they and their fathers, And have sent the sword after them, Until I have consumed them.”
Albowiem rozproszę ich między narody, których nie znali oni i ojcowie ich, i poślę za nimi miecz, aż ich do końca wygładzę.
17 Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Consider, and call for mourning women, And they come, And send to the wise women, And they come,
Tak mówi Pan zastępów: Uważcie to, a przyzówcie narzekających niewiast, niech przyjdą, a do tych, które są w tem wyćwiczone, poślijcie, aby przyszły;
18 And they hurry, and lift up a wailing for us. And tears run down our eyes, And waters flow from our eyelids.
Niech się pospieszą, a niech uczynią nad nami narzekanie, aby oczy nasze łzy wylewały, a powieki nasze opływały wodą.
19 For a voice of wailing is heard from Zion: How we have been spoiled! We have been greatly ashamed, Because we have forsaken the land, Because they have cast down our dwelling places.”
Głos zaiste narzekania słyszeć z Syonu: O jakośmy spustoszeni! bardzośmy zelżeni; bośmy stracili ziemię, bo rozrzucone są przybytki nasze.
20 But hear, you women, a word of YHWH, And your ear receives a word of His mouth, And teach your daughters wailing, And each her neighbor lamentation.
Owszem, słuchajcie niewiasty! słowa Pańskiego, a niech przyjmie ucho wasze wyrok ust jego, abyście uczyły córek swoich lamentu, a każda z was towarzyszkę swoję narzekania;
21 For death has come up into our windows, It has come into our palaces, To cut off the suckling from outside, Young men from the broad places.
Bo wlazła śmierć oknami naszemi, weszła na pałace nasze, aby wytraciła dzieci z rynku, a młodzieńce z ulic.
22 Speak thus, “A declaration of YHWH, And the carcass of man has fallen, As dung on the face of the field, And as a handful after the reaper, And there is none gathering.”
(Mów i to: Tak mówi Pan: ) I padły trupy ludzkie jako gnój po polu, a jako snopy za żeńcami, a niemasz ktoby pochował.
23 Thus said YHWH: “Do not let the wise boast himself in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty boast himself in his might, Do not let the rich boast himself in his riches,
Tak mówi Pan: Niech się nie chlubi mądry z mądrości swojej, i niech się nie chlubi mocarz z mocy swojej, i niech się nie chlubi bogaty z bogactw swoich;
24 But let the boaster boast himself in this, In understanding and knowing Me, For I [am] YHWH, doing kindness, Judgment, and righteousness, in the earth, For I have delighted in these,” A declaration of YHWH.
Ale w tem niechaj się chlubi, kto się chlubi, że rozumie a zna mię, żem Ja jest Pan, który czynię miłosierdzie, sąd i sprawiedliwość na ziemi; bo mi się to podoba, mówi Pan.
25 “Behold, days are coming,” A declaration of YHWH, “And I have laid a charge on all circumcised in the foreskin,
Oto dni idą, mówi Pan, w których nawiedzę każdego obrzezańca i nieobrzezańca:
26 On Egypt, and on Judah, and on Edom, And on the sons of Ammon, and on Moab, And on all cutting the corner [of the beard], Who are dwelling in the wilderness, For all the nations [are] uncircumcised, And all the house of Israel [are] uncircumcised in heart!”
Egipczanów, i Judę, i Edomczyków, i Amonitczyków, i Moabczyków, i wszystkich, którzy w ostatnim kącie mieszkają na puszczy; bo te wszystkie narody nieobrzezane są, a wszystek dom Izraelski jest nieobrzezany sercem.
