Jeremiah 8

1 “At that time,” A declaration of YHWH, “They bring the bones of the kings of Judah, And the bones of its princes, And the bones of the priests, And the bones of the prophets, And the bones of inhabitants of Jerusalem, Out of their graves,

“‘யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறதாவது, அந்த நாட்களில் யூதா நாட்டு அரசர்களுடைய மற்றும் அதிகாரிகளுடைய எலும்புகளும், ஆசாரியர்களுடைய மற்றும் இறைவாக்கு உரைப்போருடைய எலும்புகளும், எருசலேம் மக்களின் எலும்புகளும் சவக்குழிகளிலிருந்து வெளியே எடுக்கப்படும்.

2 And have spread them to sun, and to moon, And to all the host of the heavens, that they have loved, And that they have served, And that they have walked after, And that they have sought, And to which they have bowed themselves, They are not gathered, nor buried, They are for dung on the face of the ground.

சூரியனையும், சந்திரனையும் வானத்திலுள்ள எல்லா நட்சத்திரங்களையும் அவர்கள் நேசித்து, பணிசெய்து, பின்பற்றி, ஆலோசனை கேட்டு வணங்கினார்களே. அவைகளுக்கு முன்பாகவே அவர்களின் எலும்புகள் ஒரு காட்சிப் பொருளாய் சிதறிக் கிடக்கும். அவை சேர்த்தெடுக்கப்படுவதுமில்லை; புதைக்கப்படுவதுமில்லை. அவை நிலத்தின் குப்பையைப்போலவே கிடக்கும்.

3 And death is chosen rather than life By all the remnant who are left of this evil family, In all the remaining places, to where I have driven them,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.

இந்தத் தீமையான வம்சத்தில் மீதியாயிருப்பவர்களை நான் எங்கெல்லாம் நாடு கடத்தினேனோ அங்கெல்லாம் அவர்கள் வாழ்வைவிட, சாவையே விரும்புவார்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா கூறுகிறார்.’

4 “And you have said to them, Thus said YHWH: Do they fall, and not rise? Does he turn back, and not return?

“நீ அவர்களிடம், ‘யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “‘மனிதர்கள் விழுந்தால், அவர்கள் எழும்புவதில்லையோ? ஒருவன் வழிவிலகிப் போனால் மீண்டும் திரும்புவதில்லையோ?

5 Why has this people of Jerusalem Turned back—a continuous backsliding? They have kept hold on deceit, They have refused to turn back.

அப்படியானால் ஏன் இந்த மக்கள் வழிவிலகிப் போய்விட்டார்கள்? எருசலேம் ஏன் எப்பொழுதுமே வழிவிலகிப்போகிறது? அவர்கள் வஞ்சகத்தைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டு திரும்பிவர மறுக்கிறார்கள்.

6 I have given attention, indeed, I listen, They do not speak right, No man has sighed over his wickedness, Saying, What have I done? Everyone has turned to his courses, As a horse is rushing into battle.

நான் மிகவும் கவனித்துக் கேட்டேன். ஆனால் அவர்கள் சரியானதைச் சொல்கிறதில்லை. “நான் என்ன செய்துவிட்டேன்!” என்று சொல்லி ஒருவனும் தனது கொடுமையிலிருந்து மனந்திரும்புகிறதில்லை. போர்க்களத்திற்குள் பாய்ந்து தாக்கும் குதிரையைப்போல், ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன்தன் சொந்த வழிகளிலேயே தொடர்ந்து போகிறான்.

7 Even a stork in the heavens has known her seasons, And turtle, and swallow, and crane, Have watched the time of their coming, And—My people have not known the judgment of YHWH.

ஆகாயத்து நாரைகூட, தனக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பருவகாலங்களை அறியும். புறாவும், நீளவால் குருவியும், பாடும் குருவியுங்கூட தாங்கள் இடம் பெயரும் காலத்தை அறியும். ஆனால் என் மக்களோ யெகோவாவின் நியமங்களை அறியாதிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று சொல்.

8 How do you say, We [are] wise, And the Law of YHWH [is] with us? Surely, behold, it has worked falsely, The false pen of scribes.

“‘எழுத்தாளனின் பொய்யான எழுதுகோல், உண்மையல்லாததைத் தவறாகக் கையாண்டிருக்கும்போது, “நாங்கள் ஞானிகள்; யெகோவாவின் சட்டம் எங்களிடம் இருக்கிறது” என்று நீங்கள் எப்படிச் சொல்லமுடியும்?

9 The wise have been ashamed, They have been frightened, and are captured, Behold, they kicked against a word of YHWH, And what wisdom do they have?

ஞானிகள் வெட்கத்துக்குள்ளாவார்கள். அவர்கள் மனங்குழம்பி பொறியில் அகப்படுவார்கள். யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையைப் புறக்கணித்தவர்களிடம் எப்படிப்பட்ட ஞானம் இருக்கிறது?

10 Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even to the greatest, Everyone is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even to priest, everyone is dealing falsely.

ஆகவே அவர்கள் மனைவிகளை வேறு மனிதருக்குக் கொடுப்பேன். அவர்கள் வயல்களையும் புதியவர்களுக்குச் சொந்தமாக்குவேன். தாழ்ந்தோர்முதல் உயர்ந்தோர்வரை எல்லோரும் அநியாய இலாபம் பெற பேராசைப்படுகிறார்கள். இறைவாக்கினர்முதல் ஆசாரியர்வரை அனைவரும் ஒருமித்து வஞ்சனையே செய்கிறார்கள்.

11 And they heal the breach of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying, Peace, peace! And there is no peace.

என் மகளாகிய மக்களின் கடுமையான காயத்தை, கடுமையற்றதைப்போல் மருந்திட்டுக் கட்டுகிறார்கள். “சமாதானம், சமாதானம்” என்று சொல்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் சமாதானமோ அங்கே இல்லை.

12 They were ashamed when they did abomination! Indeed, they are not ashamed at all, And they have not known blushing, Therefore, they fall among falling ones, They stumble in the time of their inspection, said YHWH.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் அருவருப்பான நடத்தையைக் குறித்து வெட்கப்படுகிறார்களா? இல்லை, சிறிதளவும் வெட்கமில்லை. நாணங்கொள்ளவும் அவர்கள் அறியார்கள். ஆகவே அவர்கள் விழுந்தவர்கள் மத்தியில் விழுவார்கள். அவர்களைத் தண்டிக்கும்போது அவர்கள் தள்ளுண்டு போவார்கள் என்று யெகோவா கூறுகிறார்.

13 I utterly consume them,” A declaration of YHWH, “There are no grapes in the vine, Indeed, there are no figs in the fig tree, And the leaf has faded, And the strength they have passes from them.

“‘நான் அவர்களின் அறுவடையை எடுத்துச் செல்வேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். திராட்சைக்கொடியில் திராட்சைப் பழங்களோ, அத்திமரத்தில் அத்திப்பழங்களோ இருக்கமாட்டாது. அவைகளின் இலைகளும் வாடிவிடும். நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தவை அவர்களைவிட்டு எடுபட்டுப் போகும்.’”

14 Why are we sitting still? Be gathered, and we go into the fortified cities, And we are silent there, For our God YHWH has made us silent, Indeed, He causes us to drink water of gall, For we have sinned against YHWH.

அப்பொழுது மக்கள், நாம் ஒன்றும் செய்யாமல் ஏன் இன்னும் இங்கே இருக்கவேண்டும். வாருங்கள், ஒன்றுசேருவோம். அரணான பட்டணங்களுக்குள் ஓடிப்போய் அங்கே அழிவோம். ஏனெனில், நாங்கள் எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்தபடியால், அவர் எங்களைப் பேராபத்துக்கு நியமித்திருக்கிறார். அவர் குடிப்பதற்கு நஞ்சு கலந்த தண்ணீரையும் நமக்குத் தந்துள்ளார்.

15 Looking for peace—and there is no good, For a time of healing, and behold—terror.

நாங்கள் சமாதானத்தை எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தோம். ஒரு நன்மையுமே வரவில்லை. குணமாகும் நேரத்திற்குக் காத்திருந்தோம். ஆனால் ஆபத்து மட்டுமே ஏற்பட்டது.

16 The snorting of his horses has been heard from Dan, From the voice of the neighings of his mighty ones, All the land has trembled, And they come in and consume the land and its fullness, The city and the inhabitants in it.

பகைவரின் குதிரைகளின் சீற்றம், தாணிலிருந்து கேட்கப்படுகிறது. அவர்களின் ஆண் குதிரைகளின் கனைக்கிற சத்தத்தால் நாடு முழுவதும் நடுங்குகிறது. நாட்டையும் அதிலுள்ள யாவற்றையும், பட்டணத்தையும், அதிலுள்ள குடிகள் யாவரையும் விழுங்குவதற்கு அவர்கள் வந்துள்ளார்கள் என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.

17 For behold, I am sending serpents among you, Vipers that have no charmer, And they have bitten you,” A declaration of YHWH.

இதோ உங்கள் மத்தியில் நச்சுப் பாம்புகளை அனுப்புவேன். அவை வசியப்படுத்த முடியாத விரியன் பாம்புக் குட்டிகள். அவை உங்களைக் கடிக்கும் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.

18 My sorrow [is] beyond comfort, My heart [is] sick in me.

என் துக்கத்தில் எனக்கு ஆறுதலாக இருப்பவரே, என் இருதயம் எனக்குள் சோர்ந்துபோகிறது.

19 Behold, the voice of a cry of the daughter of my people from a far-off land, Is YHWH not in Zion? Is her King not in her? “Why have they provoked Me with their carved images, With the vanities of a foreigner?”

தூரத்திலுள்ள ஒரு நாட்டிலிருந்து வரும் என் மக்களின் கதறுதலை உற்றுக் கேளுங்கள்; “சீயோனில் யெகோவா இல்லையோ? அவளுடைய அரசர் இனிமேல் அங்கு இருக்கமாட்டாரோ?” அவரோ, வார்க்கப்பட்ட உருவச்சிலைகளாலும், பயனற்ற அந்நிய விக்கிரகங்களாலும், ஏன் எனக்குக் கோபமூட்டினார்கள்? என்கிறார்.

20 Harvest has passed, summer has ended, And we have not been saved.

மேலும் மக்கள் சொல்கிறதாவது, “அறுவடைக்காலம் முடிந்துவிட்டது. கோடைகாலம் போய்விட்டது. நாங்களோ இன்னும் விடுவிக்கப்படவில்லை.”

21 For a breach of the daughter of my people I have been broken, I have been dark, Astonishment has seized me.

என் மக்கள் நசுக்கப்பட்டதினால் நானும் நசுக்கப்பட்டேன். நான் துக்கமாயிருக்கிறேன். என்னை திகில் பற்றிக்கொண்டது.

22 Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why has the health of the daughter of my people not gone up?

கீலேயாத்தில் தைலம் இல்லையோ? அங்கே ஒரு வைத்தியனும் இல்லையோ? அப்படியானால் ஏன் என் மக்களின் காயம் குணமடையாமல் இருக்கிறது?
