Jeremiah 7

1 The word that has been to Jeremiah from YHWH, saying,

Dies ist das Wort, welches geschah zu Jeremia vom HERRN, und sprach:

2 “Stand in the gate of the house of YHWH, and you have proclaimed this word there, and have said, Hear a word of YHWH, all you of Judah, who are coming in at these gates, to bow before YHWH.”

Tritt ins Tor im Hause des HERRN und predige, daselbst dies Wort und sprich: Höret des HERRN Wort, ihr alle von Juda, die ihr zu diesen Toren eingehet, den HERRN anzubeten.

3 Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: “Amend your ways, and your doings, And I cause you to dwell in this place.

So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Bessert euer Leben und Wesen, so will ich bei euch wohnen an diesem Ort.

4 Do not trust for yourselves To the words of falsehood, saying, The temple of YHWH! The temple of YHWH! These [are] the temple of YHWH!

Verlasset euch nicht auf die Lügen, wenn sie sagen: Hie ist des HERRN Tempel, hie ist des HERRN Tempel, hie ist des HERRN Tempel!

5 For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, If you thoroughly do judgment Between a man and his neighbor,

Sondern bessert euer Leben und Wesen, daß ihr recht tut einer gegen den andern

6 You do not oppress sojourner, fatherless, and widow, And innocent blood is not shed in this place, And [you] do not walk after other gods, for evil to yourselves,

und den Fremdlingen, Waisen und Witwen keine Gewalt tut und nicht unschuldig Blut vergießet an diesem Ort; und folget nicht nach andern Göttern zu eurem eigenen Schaden;

7 Then I have caused you to dwell in this place, In the land that I gave to your fathers, From age even to age.

so will ich immer und ewiglich bei euch wohnen an diesem Ort, im Lande, das ich euren Vätern gegeben habe.

8 Behold, you are trusting for yourselves On the words of falsehood, so as not to profit.

Aber nun verlasset ihr euch auf Lügen, die kein nütze sind.

9 Stealing, murdering, and committing adultery, And swearing to falsehood, and giving incense to Ba‘al, And going after other gods whom you did not know.

Daneben seid ihr Diebe, Mörder, Ehebrecher und Meineidige und räuchert dem Baal und folget fremden Göttern nach, die ihr nicht kennet.

10 And you have come in and stood before Me, In this house on which My Name is called, And have said, We have been delivered, In order to do all these abominations.

Danach kommt ihr denn und tretet vor mich in diesem Hause, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, und sprechet: Es hat keine Not mit uns, weil wir solche Greuel tun.

11 Has this house, On which My Name is called, Been a den of burglars in your eyes? Even I, behold, have seen,” A declaration of YHWH.

Haltet ihr denn dies Haus, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, für eine Mördergrube? Siehe, ich sehe es wohl, spricht der HERR.

12 “But go now to My place that [is] in Shiloh, Where I caused My Name to dwell at first, And see that which I have done to it, For the wickedess of My people Israel.

Gehet hin an meinen Ort zu Silo, da vorhin mein Name gewohnet hat, und schauet, was ich daselbst getan habe um der Bosheit willen meines Volks Israel.

13 And now, because of your doing all these works,” A declaration of YHWH, “And I speak to you, rising early and speaking, And you have not listened, And I call you, and you have not answered,

Weil ihr denn alle solche Stücke treibet, spricht der HERR, und ich stets euch predigen lasse, und ihr wollt nicht hören, ich rufe euch, und ihr wollt nicht antworten:

14 I also have done to the house on which My Name is called, In which you are trusting, And to the place that I gave to you, and to your fathers, As I have done to Shiloh.

so will ich dem Hause, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, darauf ihr euch verlasset, und dem Ort, den ich euren Vätern gegeben habe, eben tun, wie ich Silo getan habe.

15 And I have cast you from before My face, As I have cast out all your brothers, The whole seed of Ephraim.

Und will euch von meinem Angesicht wegwerfen, wie ich weggeworfen habe alle eure Brüder, den ganzen Samen Ephraims.

16 And you do not pray for this people, Nor lift up crying and prayer for them, Nor intercede with Me, for I do not hear you.

Und du sollst für dies Volk nicht bitten und sollst für sie keine Klage noch Gebet vorbringen, auch nicht sie vertreten vor mir; denn ich will dich nicht hören.

17 Are you not seeing what they are doing In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem?

Denn siehest du nicht, was sie tun in den Städten Judas und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem?

18 The sons are gathering wood, And the fathers are causing the fire to burn, And the women are kneading dough, To make cakes to the queen of the heavens, And to pour out drink-offerings to other gods, So as to provoke Me to anger.

Die Kinder lesen Holz, so zünden die Väter das Feuer an, und die Weiber kneten den Teig, daß sie der Melecheth des Himmels Kuchen backen und Trankopfer den fremden Göttern geben, daß sie mir Verdrieß tun.

19 Are they provoking Me to anger?” A declaration of YHWH, “Is it not themselves, For the shame of their own faces?”

Aber sie sollen nicht mir damit, spricht der HERR, sondern ihnen selbst Verdrieß tun und müssen zuschanden werden.

20 Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: “Behold, My anger and My fury is poured out on this place, On man, and beast, and on tree of the field, And on fruit of the ground, And it has burned, and it is not quenched.”

Darum spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, mein Zorn und mein Grimm ist ausgeschüttet über diesen Ort, beide, über Menschen und über Vieh über Bäume auf dem Felde und über Früchte des Landes; und der soll brennen, daß niemand löschen möge.

21 Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: “Add your burnt-offerings to your sacrifices and eat flesh.

So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Tut eure Brandopfer und andere Opfer zuhauf und fresset Fleisch.

22 For I did not speak with your fathers, Nor did I command them in the day of My bringing them out of the land of Egypt, Concerning the matters of burnt-offering and sacrifice,

Denn ich habe euren Vätern des Tages, da ich sie aus Ägyptenland führete, weder gesagt noch geboten von Brandopfern und andern Opfern,

23 But this thing I commanded them, saying, Listen to My voice, And I have been to you for God, And you are to Me for a people, And have walked in all the way that I command you, So that it is well for you.

sondern dies gebot ich ihnen und sprach: Gehorchet meinem Wort, so will ich euer Gott sein, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein, und wandelt auf allen Wegen; die ich euch gebiete, auf daß es euch wohlgehe.

24 And they have not listened, nor inclined their ear, And they walk in the counsels, [And] in the stubbornness, of their evil hearts, And are backward and not forward.

Aber sie wollten nicht hören noch ihre Ohren zuneigen, sondern wandelten nach ihrem eigenen Rat und nach ihres bösen Herzens Gedünken und gingen hinter sich und nicht vor sich.

25 Even from the day when your fathers Went out of the land of Egypt until this day, I send all My servants the prophets to you, Daily rising early and sending,

Ja, von dem Tage an, da ich eure Väter aus Ägyptenland geführet habe, bis auf diesen Tag habe ich stets zu euch gesandt alle meine Knechte, die Propheten.

26 And they have not listened to Me, Nor inclined their ear—and they harden their neck, They have done evil above their fathers.

Aber sie wollen mich nicht hören noch ihre Ohren neigen, sondern sind halsstarrig und machen's ärger denn ihre Väter.

27 And you have spoken all these words to them, And they do not listen to you, And you have called to them, And they do not answer you.

Und wenn du ihnen dies alles schon sagest, so werden sie dich doch nicht hören; rufst du ihnen, so werden sie dir nicht antworten.

28 And you have said to them: This [is] the nation that has not listened, To the voice of its God YHWH, Nor have they accepted instruction, Steadfastness has perished, Indeed, it has been cut off from their mouth.

Darum sprich zu ihnen: Dies ist das Volk, das den HERRN, ihren Gott, nicht hören noch sich bessern will. Der Glaube ist untergegangen und ausgerottet von ihrem Munde.

29 Cut off your crown, and cast [it] away, And lift up lamentation on high places, For YHWH has rejected, And He leaves the generation of His wrath.

Schneide deine Haare ab und wirf sie von dir und heule kläglich auf den Höhen; denn der HERR hat dies Geschlecht, über das er zornig ist, verworfen und verstoßen.

30 For the sons of Judah Have done evil in My eyes,” A declaration of YHWH, “They have set their abominations in the house On which My Name is called—to defile it,

Denn die Kinder Juda tun übel vor meinen Augen, spricht der HERR. Sie setzen ihre Greuel in das Haus, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, daß sie es verunreinigen,

31 And have built the high places of Tophet, That [are] in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, To burn their sons and their daughters with fire, Which I did not command, Nor did it come up on My heart.

und bauen die Altäre Thopheth im Tal Ben-Hinnom, daß sie ihre Söhne und Töchter verbrennen, welches ich nie geboten noch in Sinn genommen habe.

32 Therefore, behold, days are coming,” A declaration of YHWH, “And it is no longer said, The Tophet, And, Valley of the Son of Hinnom, But, Valley of the Slaughter, And they have buried in Tophet—without place.

Darum siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß man es nicht mehr heißen soll Thopheth und das Tal Ben-Hinnom, sondern Würgetal; und man wird in Thopheth müssen begraben, weil sonst kein Raum mehr sein wird.

33 And the carcass of this people has been for food To a bird of the heavens, and to a beast of the earth, And there is none troubling.

Und die Leichname dieses Volks sollen den Vögeln des Himmels und den Tieren auf Erden zur Speise werden, davon sie niemand scheuchen wird.

34 And I have caused to cease from cities of Judah, And from streets of Jerusalem, The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, For the land becomes a desolation!”

Und will in den Städten Judas und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem wegnehmen das Geschrei der Freude und Wonne und die Stimme des Bräutigams und der Braut; denn das Land soll wüste sein.
