Jeremiah 6
1 “Strengthen yourselves, sons of Benjamin, From the midst of Jerusalem, And blow a horn in Tekoa, And lift up a flame over Beth-Haccerem, For evil has been seen from the north, And great destruction.
১“হে বিন্যামীনের লোকেরা, রক্ষা পাবার জন্য যিরূশালেম থেকে পালাও। তকোয় শহরে তূরী বাজাও। বৈৎ-হক্কেরমে সংকেত তোলো, কারণ উত্তর দিক থেকে অমঙ্গল ও ভয়ঙ্কর ধ্বংস উঁকি মারছে।
2 I have cut off the lovely and delicate one, The daughter of Zion.
২সুন্দরী ও সুখভোগকারী সিয়োনের মেয়েকে আমি হত্যা করব।
3 Shepherds and their droves come to her, They have struck tents by her all around, They have each fed [in] his own station.”
৩মেষপালক এবং তাদের ভেড়ার পাল তাদের কাছে যাবে; তারা তার বিরুদ্ধে চারিদিকে তাঁবু খাটাবে; প্রত্যেকে নিজের হাতে পাল চরাবে।
4 “Sanctify the battle against her, Rise, and we go up at noon. Woe to us, for the day has turned, For the shades of evening are stretched out,
৪সদাপ্রভুর নামে তাকে আক্রমণ কর। ওঠ, আমরা দুপুর বেলায় আক্রমণ করি। এটি খুবই খারাপ বিষয় যে দিনের আলো কমে যাচ্ছে, সন্ধ্যার ছায়া পড়ছে।
5 Rise, and we go up by night, And we destroy her palaces.”
৫তাই ওঠ, আমরা রাতেই আক্রমণ করি এবং তার দুর্গগুলি ধ্বংস করি।”
6 For thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Cut down her wood, And pour out a mound against Jerusalem, She [is] the city to be inspected, She [is] full of oppression in her midst.
৬বাহিনীগনের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “তার গাছপালা কেটে দাও এবং তা দিয়ে যিরূশালেমের বিরুদ্ধে ঢিবি তৈরী কর। এটাই আক্রমণ করার সঠিক শহর, কারণ এটি অত্যাচারে ভরে গেছে।
7 As the digging of a well, is [for] its waters, So she has dug [for] her wickedness, Violence and spoil is heard in her, Sickness and striking [are] continually before My face.
৭কূয়োর ঠান্ডা জল যেমন এতে ধরা থাকে, তেমন এই শহর তার দুষ্টতা ধরে রাখে। তার মধ্যে হিংস্রতা ও গণ্ডগোলের শব্দ শোনা যায়। তার অসুস্থতা ও আঘাত সব দিন আমার সামনে রয়েছে।
8 Be instructed, O Jerusalem, Lest My soul be alienated from you, Lest I make you a desolation, A land [that is] not inhabited.”
৮হে যিরূশালেম, শাসন গ্রহণ কর, না হলে আমি তোমার কাছ থেকে ফিরে যাব এবং তোমার দেশ ধ্বংস ও জনশূন্য করব।”
9 Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “They surely glean, as a vine, the remnant of Israel, Put your hand back, as a gatherer to the baskets.”
৯বাহিনীগনের সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “আঙ্গুরের মত যারা ইস্রায়েলে ছড়িয়ে আছে তাদের তারা জড়ো করবে। আঙ্গুর গাছ থেকে আঙ্গুর তোলার জন্য তোমার হাত বাড়াও।
10 To whom do I speak, and testify, and they hear? Behold, their ear [is] uncircumcised, And they are not able to attend. Behold, a word of YHWH has been to them for a reproach, They do not delight in it.
১০আমি কাকে বললে ও কাকে সাবধান করলে তারা আমার কথা শুনবে? দেখ! তাদের কান বন্ধ হচ্ছে, তাই তারা মনোযোগ দেয় না। দেখ! সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য তাদের কাছে শোধরানোর জন্য এসেছে, কিন্তু তারা তা চায় না।
11 And I have been filled with the fury of YHWH (I have been weary of containing), “To pour [it] on the suckling in the street, And on the assembly of youths together, For even husband with wife are captured, [The] elderly with one full of days,
১১তাই আমি সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধে পূর্ণ হয়েছি। আমি তা ভিতরে ধরে রাখতে রাখতে ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়েছি। রাস্তার লোকেদের উপরে ও যুবকদের সভার উপরে একসঙ্গে তা ঢেলে দাও। প্রত্যেক স্বামীকে তার স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে, প্রত্যেক প্রাচীনদেরও খুব বয়ষ্কদের সঙ্গে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে।
12 And their houses have been turned to others, Fields and wives together, For I stretch out My hand against the inhabitants of the land,” A declaration of YHWH.
১২আর ভূমি ও স্ত্রী সমেত তাদের বাড়ি পরের অধিকারে চলে যাবে। কারণ আমি এই দেশের অধিবাসীদের বিরুদ্ধে শাস্তির হাত বাড়াব। এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
13 “For from their least to their greatest, Everyone is gaining dishonest gain, And from prophet even to priest, Everyone is dealing falsely,
১৩কারণ তারা ছোট ও বড় সবাই লাভের জন্য লোভ করে; এমন কি, ভাববাদী ও যাজকেরাও ছলনা করে।
14 And they heal the breach of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying, Peace, peace! And there is no peace.
১৪কিন্তু তারা অবহেলার সঙ্গে আমার লোকদের ভগ্নতা সুস্থ করে, যখন তারা বলে, ‘শান্তি! শান্তি!’ কিন্তু সেখানে শান্তি নেই।
15 They were ashamed when they did abomination! Indeed, they are not at all ashamed, Indeed, they have not known blushing, Therefore they fall among those falling, In the time I have inspected them, They stumble,” said YHWH.
১৫তারা কি তাদের সেই জঘন্য কাজের জন্য লজ্জিত? তাদের কোন লজ্জা নেই; তারা নম্রতা জানে না। তাই তারা তাদের সাথে পড়বে, যাদের আমি শাস্তি দেব। তাদের নত করা হবে।” সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
16 Thus said YHWH: “Stand by the ways and see, and ask for paths of old, Where [is] this—the good way? And go in it, And find rest for yourselves. And they say, We do not go.
১৬সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: রাস্তার চৌমাথায় দাঁড়াও ও দেখ; পুরানো পথের কথা জিজ্ঞাসা কর। ভাল পথ কোথায়? তখন সেই পথে চল এবং তোমরা নিজের অন্তরে বিশ্রাম পাবে। কিন্তু লোকেরা বলে, আমরা যাব না।
17 And I have raised up watchmen for you, Attend to the voice of the horn. And they say, We do not attend.
১৭আমি তোমাদের উপরে তূরীর ধ্বনি শোনার জন্য পাহারাদার নিযুক্ত করেছি। কিন্তু তারা বলেছে, আমরা শুনব না।
18 Therefore hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, That which [is] on them.
১৮অতএব, হে জাতিরা, শোন! দেখ, তোমরা সাক্ষী, তাদের প্রতি কি হবে।
19 Hear, O earth, behold, I am bringing evil on this people, The fruit of their plans, For they gave no attention to My words, And My law—they kick against it.
১৯শোন, হে পৃথিবী! দেখ, আমি এই লোকেদের উপর বিপদ ডেকে আনব, যা তাদের পরিকল্পনার ফল। তারা আমার বাক্য বা ব্যবস্থায় মনোযোগ দেয়নি, কিন্তু তার পরিবর্তে তারা অগ্রাহ্য করেছে।
20 Why [is] this to Me? Frankincense comes from Sheba, And the sweet cane from a far-off land, Your burnt-offerings [are] not for acceptance, And your sacrifices have not been sweet to Me.”
২০শিবা থেকে আমার কাছে কেন ধূপ আসে? কিংবা দূর দেশ থেকে যে মিষ্টি সুগন্ধি আসে? তোমাদের হোমবলি আমার গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়, তোমাদের বলিদানও আমাকে সন্তুষ্ট করে না।
21 Therefore, thus said YHWH: “Behold, I give stumbling blocks to this people, And fathers and sons have stumbled against them together, The neighbor and his friend perish.”
২১তাই সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “দেখ, আমি এই লোকেদের বিরুদ্ধে নানা বাধা স্থাপন করব। বাবারা ও ছেলেরা একসঙ্গে তাতে হোঁচট খাবে। প্রতিবেশীরা ও বন্ধুরা বিনষ্ট হয়ে যাবে।”
22 Thus said YHWH: “Behold, a people has come from a north country, And a great nation is stirred up from the sides of the earth.
২২সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “দেখ, উত্তর দেশ থেকে একদল লোক আসছে। কারণ দূর দেশ থেকে একটি বড় জাতি উত্তেজিত হয়ে আসছে।
23 They take hold of bow and javelin, It [is] fierce, and they have no mercy, Their voice sounds as a sea, And they ride on horses, Set in array as a man of war, Against you, O daughter of Zion.”
২৩তারা ধনুক ও বর্শা নেবে। তারা নিষ্ঠুর এবং কোন দয়া নেই। সমুদ্রের গর্জনের মত তাদের শব্দ এবং তারা ঘোড়ায় চড়ে যোদ্ধার মত প্রস্তুত হয়ে আসছে, হে সিয়োনের মেয়ে।”
24 We have heard its sound, our hands have been feeble, Distress has seized us, pain as of a travailing woman.
২৪আমরা তাদের সম্বন্ধে খবর পেয়েছি। আমাদের হাত অবশ হয়ে গেল। প্রসবকারিণী স্ত্রীলোকদের মত যন্ত্রণা আমাদের ধরেছে।
25 Do not go forth to the field, And do not walk in the way, For the enemy has a sword, Fear [is] all around.
২৫তোমরা মাঠে যেয়ো না ও রাস্তায় হেঁটো না, কারণ শত্রুর তরোয়াল এবং চারিদিকে ভীষণ ভয় রয়েছে।
26 O daughter of my people, Gird on sackcloth, And roll yourself in ashes, Make mourning [as for] an only one, A most bitter lamentation, For the spoiler suddenly comes against us.
২৬হে আমার প্রজাদের মেয়েরা, একমাত্র ছেলের মৃত্যুশোকে চট পর এবং ছাইয়ের মধ্যে গড়াগড়ি দাও। নিজেদের জন্য প্রচণ্ড শোক কর। কারণ আমাদের উপরে হঠাৎ ধ্বংসকারী এসে পড়বে।
27 “I have given you a watchtower, A fortress among My people, And you know, and have tried their way.
২৭যিরমিয়, আমি তোমাকে আমার লোকেদের যাচাইকারী করেছি, তাই তুমি তাদের পথ বিচার করবে এবং পরীক্ষা করবে।
28 All of them are turned aside by apostates, Walking slanderously—bronze and iron, All of them are corrupters.
২৮তারা সবাই খুব একগুঁয়ে লোক, যারা অন্য লোকের নিন্দা করে চলে। তারা সবাই ব্রোঞ্জ আর লোহার মত; খুব খারাপ আচরণ করে।
29 The bellows have been burned, The lead has been consumed by fire, A refiner has refined in vain, And the wicked have not been drawn away.
২৯জাঁতা তাদের আগুনে পুড়েছে, সীসা আগুনের শিখায় বিনষ্ট হয়েছে। অনর্থক তারা শুদ্ধ করার চেষ্টা করছে, কারণ দুষ্টদেরকে বের করা যাচ্ছে না।
30 They have called them rejected silver, For YHWH has kicked against them!”
৩০তাদের বাতিল রূপা বলা হবে, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাদের অগ্রাহ্য করেছেন।
