< Jeremiah 47 >
1 That which has been the word of YHWH to Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh strikes Gaza:
Ansa na Farao bɛto ahyɛ Gasa so no, yei ne Awurade asɛm a ɛfa Filistifoɔ ho a ɛbaa odiyifoɔ Yeremia nkyɛn:
2 “Thus said YHWH: Behold, waters are going up from the north, And have been for an overflowing stream, And they overflow the land and its fullness, The city, and those dwelling in it, And men have cried out, And every inhabitant of the land has howled.
Sei na Awurade seɛ: “Monhwɛ sɛdeɛ nsuo retue wɔ atifi fam; ɛbɛbu afa asase no ne biribiara a ɛwɔ soɔ so, nkuro no ne nnipa a wɔtete mu. Nnipa no bɛteateam; wɔn a wɔte asase no so nyinaa bɛtwa adwo
3 From the sound of the stamping of the hooves of his mighty ones, From the rushing of his chariot, The noise of his wheels, Fathers have not turned to sons, From feebleness of hands,
ɛberɛ a wɔate apɔnkɔ a wɔdi mmirika no nan ase nnyegyeɛ, na wɔate atamfoɔ no nteaseɛnam gyegyeegye ne wɔn ntwahonan nnyegyeɛ. Agyanom rentwa wɔn ani nhwɛ wɔn mma; wɔn nsa bɛsensɛn wɔn ho kwa.
4 Because of the day that has come to spoil all the Philistines, To cut off every helping remnant from Tyre and from Sidon. For YHWH is spoiling the Philistines, The remnant of the island of Caphtor.
Na ɛda no aba sɛ wɔsɛe Filistifoɔ no nyinaa na wɔtwa wɔn a wɔaka no nyinaa gu, wɔn a anka wɔtumi boa Tiro ne Sidon no. Awurade rebɛsɛe Filistifoɔ no, nkaeɛfoɔ a wɔfiri Kreta mpoano no.
5 Baldness has come to Gaza, Ashkelon has been cut off, O remnant of their valley, Until when do you cut yourself?
Gasa bɛbɔ tikwa ɛberɛ a ɔretwa adwo; wɔbɛma Askelon atɔre mum. Ao nkaeɛfoɔ a mowɔ tata so, mobɛsu akɔsi da bɛn?
6 Behold, sword of YHWH, until when are you not quiet? Be removed to your sheath, rest and cease.
“Mosu sɛ, ‘Aa Awurade akofena, da bɛn na wobɛhome? Sane kɔhyɛ wo bɔha mu; gyae na da dinn.’
7 How will it be quiet, And YHWH has given a charge to it, Against Ashkelon and against the seashore? He has appointed it there!”
Na ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na ada dinn ɛberɛ a Awurade ahyɛ no sɛ ɔnkoto nhyɛ Askelon ne mpoano no so?”
