Jeremiah 43
1 And it comes to pass, when Jeremiah finishes speaking to all the people all the words of their God YHWH, with which their God YHWH has sent him to them—all these words—
Und es geschah, als Jeremia zu dem ganzen Volke alle Worte Jehovas, ihres Gottes, zu Ende geredet, womit ihn Jehova, ihr Gott, zu ihnen gesandt hatte, alle jene Worte,
2 that Azariah son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and all the proud men, speak to Jeremiah, saying, “You are speaking falsehood; our God YHWH has not sent you to say, Do not enter Egypt to sojourn there;
da sprachen Asarja [Wahrsch. ist zu l.: Jesanja [S. Kap. 42,1], ] der Sohn Hoschajas, und Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle frechen Männer-sie sprachen zu Jeremia: Du redest Lügen! Jehova, unser Gott, hat dich nicht gesandt und gesagt: Ihr sollt nicht nach Ägypten ziehen, um euch daselbst aufzuhalten;
3 for Baruch son of Neriah is moving you against us, in order to give us up into the hand of the Chaldeans, to put us to death, and to remove us to Babylon.”
sondern Baruk, der Sohn Nerijas, hetzt dich wider uns auf, um uns in die Hand der Chaldäer zu liefern, damit sie uns töten und uns nach Babel wegführen. -
4 And Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces, and all the people, have not listened to the voice of YHWH, to dwell in the land of Judah;
Und so hörten Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle Heerobersten und das ganze Volk nicht auf die Stimme Jehovas, im Lande Juda zu bleiben.
5 and Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces, take all the remnant of Judah who have turned from all the nations to where they were driven to sojourn in the land of Judah,
Und Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle Heerobersten nahmen den ganzen Überrest von Juda, welche aus allen Nationen, wohin sie vertrieben worden, zurückgekehrt waren [S. Kap. 40,11. 12., ] um sich im Lande Juda aufzuhalten:
6 the men, and the women, and the infant, and the daughters of the king, and every person that Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch son of Neriah,
die Männer und die Weiber und die Kinder und die Königstöchter, und alle Seelen, welche Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Trabanten, bei Gedalja, dem Sohne Achikams, des Sohnes Schaphans, zurückgelassen hatte, und auch den Propheten Jeremia und Baruk, den Sohn Nerijas;
7 and they enter the land of Egypt, for they have not listened to the voice of YHWH, and they come as far as Tahpanhes.
und sie zogen nach Ägypten, denn sie hörten nicht auf die Stimme Jehovas. Und sie kamen nach Tachpanches [S. die Anm. zu Hes. 30,18.]
8 And there is a word of YHWH to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu Jeremia in Tachpanches also:
9 “Take great stones in your hand, and you have hidden them in the clay in the brick-kiln, that [is] at the opening of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, before the eyes of the men of Judah,
Nimm große Steine in deine Hand und verbirg sie in den Mörtel am Ziegelofen, der bei dem Eingang des Hauses des Pharao in Tachpanches ist, vor den Augen der jüdischen Männer;
10 and you have said to them, Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Behold, I am sending, and I have taken Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and I have set his throne above these stones that I have hid, and he has stretched out his pavilion over them,
und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich sende hin und hole Nebukadrezar, den König von Babel, meinen Knecht, und setze seinen Thron über diese Steine, die ich eingesenkt habe; und er wird seinen Prachtteppich über ihnen ausbreiten.
11 and he has come, and struck the land of Egypt—those who [are] for death to death, and those who [are] for captivity to captivity, and those who [are] for the sword to the sword.
Und er wird kommen und das Land Ägypten schlagen: Wer zum Tode bestimmt ist, gehe zum Tode; und wer zur Gefangenschaft, zur Gefangenschaft; und wer zum Schwerte, zum Schwerte.
12 And I have kindled a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and it has burned them, and he has taken them captive, and covered himself with the land of Egypt, as the shepherd covers himself with his garment, and he has gone forth there in peace;
Und ich werde ein Feuer anzünden in den Häusern der Götter Ägyptens, und er wird sie verbrennen und sie wegführen. Und er wird das Land Ägypten um sich wickeln, wie der Hirt sein Oberkleid um sich wickelt; und er wird von dannen ziehen in Frieden.
13 and he has broken the standing pillars of the house of the sun, that [is] in the land of Egypt, and he burns the houses of the gods of Egypt with fire.”
Und er wird die Säulen [d. h. die Obelisken] von Beth-Semes [Beth Schemesch [Sonnenstadt] ist die hebr. Übersetzung des heiligen Namens der Stadt On, welche durch ihre dem Sonnengott geweihten Tempel berühmt war, ] welche im Lande Ägypten sind, zerschlagen, und die Häuser der Götter Ägyptens mit Feuer verbrennen.
