Jeremiah 40
1 The word that has been to Jeremiah from YHWH, after Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, has sent him from Ramah, in his taking him—and he a prisoner in chains—in the midst of all the expulsion of Jerusalem and of Judah, who are removed to Babylon.
रामामा राजाका अङ्गरक्षकका कप्तान नबूजरदानले यर्मियालाई मुक्त गरेपछि परमप्रभुबाट यर्मियाकहाँ यो वचन आयो । तिनले यर्मियालाई बेबिलोनमा निर्वासनमा लगिने यरूशलेम र यहूदाका सबै बन्दीका बिचमा साङ्लाले बाँधिएको भेट्टाए ।
2 And the chief of the executioners takes Jeremiah and says to him, “Your God YHWH has spoken this calamity concerning this place,
अङ्गरक्षकका कप्तानले यर्मियालाई लगे र भने, “परमप्रभु तिम्रा परमेश्वरले यस ठाउँको लागि यो विपत्तिको आज्ञा दिनुभयो ।
3 and YHWH brings [it] in, and does as He spoke, because you have sinned against YHWH, and have not listened to His voice, even this thing has been to you.
त्यसैले परमप्रभुले नै यो विपत्ति ल्याउनुभयो । उहाँले भन्नुभएझैं उहाँले गर्नुभयो, किनकि तिमीहरूले उहाँको विरुद्धमा पाप गर्यौ, र उहाँको कुरा मानेनौ । त्यसकारण यो विपत्ति तिमीहरूमाथि आइपरेको हो ।
4 And now, behold, I have loosed you today from the chains that [are] on your hand; if [it is] good in your eyes to come with me [to] Babylon, come, and I keep my eye on you: and if [it is] evil in your eyes to come with me to Babylon, refrain; see, all the land [is] before you, to where [it is] good, and to where [it is] right in your eyes to go—go.”
तर अब हेर, तिम्रा हातमा भएका साङ्लाबाट मैले तिमीलाई आज मुक्त गरेको छु । तिम्रो दृष्टिमा मसितै बेबिलोन आउनु उचित हो भने आऊ, र म तिम्रो हेरचाह गर्नेछु । तर तिम्रो दृष्टिमा मसितै बेबिलोन आउनु उचित होइन भने, त्यसो नगर । तिम्रो सामु भएको सबै देशलाई हेर । तिम्रो दृष्टिमा जहाँ जान ठिक र उचित लाग्छ, त्यहीँ जाऊ ।”
5 And while he does not reply—“Or turn back to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him in the midst of the people, or wherever it is right in your eyes to go—go.” And the chief of the executioners gives a ration and gift to him, and sends him away,
यर्मियाले जवाफ नदिएपछि नबूजरदानले भने, “शापानका नाति, अहीकामका छोरा गदल्याहकहाँ जाऊ, जसलाई बेबिलोनका राजाले यहूदाका सहरहरूको रेखदेख गर्ने जिम्मा दिएका छन् । मानिसहरूका बिचमा तिनीसँगै बस वा तिम्रो दृष्टिमा जहाँ जानु उचित लाग्छ, त्यहीँ जाऊ ।” राजाक अङ्गरक्षकका कप्तानले तिनलाई खाना र उपहार दिए, र त्यसपछि तिनलाई पठाए ।
6 and Jeremiah comes to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and dwells with him in the midst of the people who are left in the land.
त्यसैले यर्मिया मिस्पामा अहीकामका छोरा गदल्याहकहाँ गए । तिनी देशमा छाडिएका मानिसहरूकै बिचमा तिनीसित बसे ।
7 And all the heads of the forces that [are] in the field hear, they and their men, that the king of Babylon has appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over the land, and that he has charged him [with] men, and women, and infants, and of the poor of the land, of those who have not been removed to Babylon;
बेबिलोनका राजाले अहीकामका छोरा गदल्याहलाई देशको गभर्नरमा नियुक्त गरेका थिए भनी गाउँबस्तीमा बाँकी रहेका यहूदी सिपाहीहरूका केही अधिकारीहरू र तिनीहरूका मानिसहरूले सुने । बेबिलोनमा निर्वासित नभएका सबैभन्दा गरिब पुरुषहरू, स्त्रीहरू, बालबालिकाहरूको जिम्मामा तिनलाई नियुक्त गरिएको थियो भनेर पनि तिनीहरूले सुने ।
8 and they come to Gedaliah at Mizpah, even Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan [the] sons of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maachathite, they and their men.
त्यसैले तिनीहरू मिस्पामा गदल्याहकहाँ गए । यी मानिसहरू यी नै थिएः नतन्याहका छोरा इश्माएल, कारेहका दुई छोरा योहानान र जोनाथन, तन्हूमेतका छोरा सरायाह, नतोपाती एफैका छोराहरू, माकातीका छोरा याजन्याह र यी सबैका मानिसहरू ।
9 And Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, swears to them and to their men, saying, “Do not be afraid of serving the Chaldeans, abide in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it is well for you;
शापानका नाति, अहीकामका छोरा गदल्याहले तिनीहरू र तिनीहरूका मानिसहरूलाई शपथ खुवाए र तिनीहरूलाई भने, “कल्दी अधिकारीहरूको सेवा गर्नदेखि नडराओ । यही देशमा बसे र बेबिलोनका राजाको सेवा गर, र तिमीहरूको भलो हुनेछ ।
10 and I, behold, I am dwelling in Mizpah to stand before the Chaldeans who have come to us, and you, gather wine, and summer fruit, and oil, and put [them] in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that you have taken.”
हामीकहाँ आउने कल्दीहरूसित भेट गर्न म मिस्पामा बस्दैछु । त्यसैले तिमीहरूले दाखमद्य, ग्रीष्म ऋतुका फलहरू र तेलको खेती गर र आफ्ना भाँडाहरूमा जम्मा गर । तिमीहरूले छानेका सहरहरूमा बस ।”
11 And also all the Jews who [are] in Moab, and among the sons of Ammon, and in Edom, and who [are] in all the lands, have heard that the king of Babylon has given a remnant to Judah, and that he has appointed over them Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan,
तब मोआबमा भएका सबै यहूदी, अम्मोनीहरू र एदोमीहरूका बिचमा भएका र हरेक देशमा भएका यहूदीहरूले यो कुरा सुने, कि बेबिलोनका राजाले यहूदाका बाँकी रहेकाहरूलाई बस्न दिएका छन्, र शापानका नाति, अहीकामका छोरा गदल्याहलाई तिनीहरूमाथि अधिकारी नियुक्त गरेका छन् ।
12 and all the Jews from all the places to where they have been driven, return and enter the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and they gather wine and summer fruit—to multiply abundantly.
त्यसैले सबै यहूदी आफू छरपष्ट भएको हरेक ठाउँबाट फर्के । तिनीहरू यहूदाको देशको मिस्पामा गदल्याहकहाँ फर्केर आए । तिनीहरूले प्रचुर मात्रा दाखमद्य र ग्रीष्म ऋतुको फल उत्पादन गरे ।
13 And Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces that [are] in the field, have come to Gedaliah at Mizpah,
कारेहका छोरा योहानान र गाउँबस्तीमा भएका सेनाका अधिकृतहरू मिस्पामा गदल्याहकहाँ आए ।
14 and they say to him, “Do you really know that Ba‘alis king of the sons of Ammon has sent Ishmael son of Nethaniah to strike your soul?” And Gedaliah son of Ahikam has not given credence to them.
तिनीहरूले तिनलाई भने, “अम्मोनीहरूका राजा बालीसले नतन्याहका छोरा इश्माएललाई तपाईंको हत्या गर्न पठाएका छन् भन्ने कुरो तपाईंलाई थाहा छ?” तर अहीकामका छोरा गदल्याहले तिनीहरूको कुरो विश्वास गरेनन् ।
15 And Johanan son of Kareah has spoken to Gedaliah in secret, in Mizpah, saying, “Please let me go, and I strike Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one knows; why does he strike your soul? And all Judah who are gathered to you have been scattered, and the remnant of Judah has perished.”
त्यसैले मिस्पामा कारेहका छोरा योहानानले गदल्याहलाई गुप्तमा कुरा गरे र भने, “नतन्याहको छोरो इश्माएललाई मार्न मलाई अनुमति दिनुहोस् । कसैले मलाई शङ्का गर्नेछैन । त्यसले तपाईंलाई किन मार्ने? तपाईंकहाँ जम्मा भएका सबै यहूदीलाई किन तितर-बितर हुन दिने र यहूदाका बाँकी रहेकाहरूलाई किन नष्ट हुन दिने?”
16 And Gedaliah son of Ahikam says to Johanan son of Kareah, “You do not do this thing, for you are speaking falsehood concerning Ishmael.”
तर अहीकामका छोरा गदल्याहले कारेहका छोरा योहानानलाई भने, “यो कुरो नगर, किनकि तिमीले इश्माएलको विषयमा मसित झूट बोल्दैछौ ।”
