< Jeremiah 36 >

1 And it comes to pass, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word has been to Jeremiah from YHWH, saying,
Ie amy faha-efa-tao’ Iehoiakime ana’ Iosia, mpanjaka’ Iehodày, le niheo am’ Iirmeà ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
2 “Take a roll of a scroll to yourself, and you have written on it all the words that I have spoken to you concerning Israel, and concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day;
Mangalà boke-peleke le sokiro ao ze hene tsara nivolañako ty am’ Israele naho Iehodà vaho o hene fifeheañeo sikal’ amy andro nivolañeko ama’o faha’ Iosiay pake henanekeo.
3 perhaps the house of Israel so hears all the evil that I am thinking of doing to them, so that they each turn back from his evil way, and I have been propitious to their iniquity, and to their sin.”
Kera ho janjiñe’ ty anjomba’ Iehodà ze hene hankàñe nisafirieko hanoañe; ke sindre hibalintoa amo sata’ rati’eo ondatio, vaho hapoko ty hakeo’ iareo naho o tahi’ iareoo.
4 And Jeremiah calls Baruch son of Neriah, and Baruch writes from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of YHWH, that He has spoken to him, on a roll of a scroll.
Aa le kinoi’ Iirmeà t’i Baroke ana’ i Nerià; vaho sinoki’ i Baroke am-boke-pelek’ ao boak’ am-palie’ Iirmeà ze hene tsara nitsara’ Iehovà ama’e.
5 And Jeremiah commands Baruch, saying, “I am restrained, I am not able to enter the house of YHWH;
Le hoe t’Iirmeà amy Baroke: sinebañe iraho tsy himoak’ añ’anjomba’ Iehovà ao;
6 but you have entered—and you have read in the scroll that you have written from my mouth, the words of YHWH, in the ears of the people, in the house of YHWH, in the day of the fast, and you also read them in the ears of all Judah who are coming in from their cities;
akia arè, mamakia amy boke-peleke nanokira’o o tsara’ Iehovà boak’am-bavakooy, an-dravembia’ ondaty añ’anjomba’ Iehovà ao ami’ty androm-pililirañe; mbore vakio an-dravembia’ Iehoda miakatse o rova’eo iaby.
7 perhaps their supplication so falls before YHWH, and they each turn back from his evil way, for the anger and the fury that YHWH has spoken concerning this people [is] great.”
Hera hibanabana soloho am’ Iehovà, naho songa hibalik’ amo sata-rati’eo; amy te miforoforo ty haviñera’ Iehovà naho ty fifomboa’e nitaroñeñe am’ ondaty retoa.
8 And Baruch son of Neriah does according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, to read in the scroll the words of YHWH in the house of YHWH.
Aa le nanoe’ i Baroke ana’ i Neria i hene nandilia’ Iirmeà mpitoky ama’ey, le vinaki’e amy bokey ty tsara’ Iehovà añ’anjomba’ Iehovà ao.
9 And it comes to pass, in the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, they proclaimed a fast before YHWH to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people who are coming in from cities of Judah to Jerusalem;
Aa ie ami’ty volam-paha-sive’ i taom-paha-lime’ Iehoiakime ana’ Iosia mpanjaka’ Iehoday, le nambarañe fililirañe añatrefa’ Iehovà: naho nimb’ e Ierosalaime mb’eo ondati’ Ierosalaimeo naho ze hene boak’ amo rova’ Iehodao.
10 and Baruch reads in the scroll the words of Jeremiah in the house of YHWH, in the chamber of Gemariah son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the opening of the New Gate of the house of YHWH, in the ears of all the people.
Le vinaki’ i Baroke amy bokey o saontsi’ Iirmeào, añ’anjomba’ Iehovà, añ’efe’ i Gemaria ana’ i Safane mpanokitse, an-kiririsa ambone, amy fimoahan-Dalam-bey Vao’ i anjomba’ Iehovàiy, an-dravembia’ ze fonga ondaty.
11 And Michaiah son of Gemariah, son of Shaphan, hears all the words of YHWH from off the scroll,
Aa ie jinanji’ i Mikaieho ana’ i Gemaria, ana’ i Safane ze hene tsara’ Iehovà boak’ amy bokey,
12 and he goes down [to] the house of the king, to the chamber of the scribe, and behold, there all the heads are sitting: Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan son of Acbor, and Gemariah son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the heads.
le nizotso mb’ añ’ anjomba’ i mpanjakay mb’eo, añ’ efe’ o mpanokitseo; le heheke te hene niambesatse ao o roandriañeo— i Elisama, mpanokitse, naho Delaia ana’ i Semaià, naho i Elnatane ana i Akbore, naho i Gemaria, ana’ i Safane, naho i Tsidkia ana’ i Kananià, naho o roandriañe iabio.
13 And Micaiah declares to them all the words that he has heard when Baruch reads in the scroll in the ears of the people;
Le tinaro’ i Mikaieho ze hene tsara jinanji’e amy Baroke, ie namaky i bokey an-dravembia’ ondatio.
14 and all the heads send to Baruch, Jehudi son of Nethaniah, son of Shelemiah, son of Cushi, saying, “Take in your hand the scroll, which you have read in the ears of the people, and come.” And Baruch son of Neriah takes the scroll in his hand and comes to them,
Aa le nampihitrife’ o roandriañe iabio t’Iehodý ana’ i Netanià ana’ i Selemia, ana’ i Kosy, mb’ amy Baroke hanoa’e ty hoe: Endeso am-pità’o i peleke vinaki’o an-dravembia’ ondatioy, vaho mb’etoy. Aa le rinambe’ i Baroke ana’ i Neria am-pità’e amy zao i pelekey vaho nimb’ am’ iereo ao.
15 and they say to him, “Please sit down and read it in our ears,” and Baruch reads [it] in their ears,
Le hoe iereo ama’e: Miambesara vaho ivakio an-dravembia’ay. Aa le vinaki’ i Baroke an-dravembia’ iareo.
16 and it comes to pass, when they hear all the words, they have been afraid—one to another—and say to Baruch, “We surely declare all these words to the king.”
Ie amy zao, naho hene jinanji’ iereo i tsaray, le nifampitolik’ an-kahembañañe vaho nanao ty hoe amy Baroke: Tsy mete tsy hene taroñe’ay amy mpanjakay o tsara zao.
17 And they asked Baruch, saying, “Please declare to us, how did you write all these words from his mouth?”
Le nañontane i Baroke iereo, ty hoe, Ehe, isaontsio, akore ty nanokira’o o tsara iaby zao? boak’am-palie’e hao?
18 And Baruch says to them, “He pronounces from his mouth all these words to me, and I am writing on the scroll with ink.”
Le hoe ty natoi’ i Baroke: Hene sinaontsi’e amako am-palie o tsara retoañe, vaho sinokiko an-drano-mainte amo bokeo.
19 And the heads say to Baruch, “Go, be hidden, you and Jeremiah, and let no one know where you [are].”
Le hoe o roandriañeo amy Baroke, Akia, mietaha, ihe naho Iirmeà, vaho ko apo’o ho fohi’ ondaty te aia.
20 And they go to the king, to the court, and they have laid up the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and they declare all the words in the ears of the king.
Aa le nimoak’ amy mpanjakay an-kiririsa’e ao iereo; fa nado’ iareo añ’efe’ i Elisama mpanokitse ao i pelekey; vaho tinaro’ iareo an-dravembia’ i mpanjakay i tsara iabiy.
21 And the king sends Jehudi to take the scroll, and he takes it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and Jehudi reads it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the heads who are standing by the king;
Aa le nampihitrife’ i mpanjakay t’Iehody hangalake i pelekey; le nalae’e añ’efe’ i Elisame mpanokitse ao naho vinaki’ Iehody an-dravembia’ i mpanjakay vaho an-dravembia’ o roandriañe iaby nijohañe marine i mpanjakaio.
22 and the king is sitting in the winter-house, in the ninth month, and the stove is burning before him,
Niambesatse añ’anjomban’ asotry ao i mpanjakay amy volam-pahasivey, ie nisodotse añ’atrefa’e eo ty toko-pamindroañe.
23 and it comes to pass, when Jehudi reads three or four leaves, he cuts it out with the scribe’s knife, and has cast [it] into the fire that [is] on the stove, until the consumption of all the scroll by the fire that [is] on the stove.
Aa naho nivakia’ Iehody ty fange’e efatse ndra telo, le tinori’e amy kelelahi’ey vaho nahifi’e amy afo amy tokoiy, ampara’ te fonga niforototoe’ ty afo amy toko-pamindroañey i pelekey.
24 And the king and all his servants who are hearing all these words have not been afraid, nor torn their garments.
F’ie tsy nahahembañe iareo, leo raike tsy nandriatse sikiñe, ndra i mpanjakay ndra o mpitoro’e nahajanjiñe i tsaraio.
25 And also Elnathan, and Delaiah, and Gemariah have interceded with the king not to burn the scroll, and he has not listened to them.
Mbore nihalaly amy mpanjakay t’i Elnatane naho i Delaia vaho i Gemaria tsy hampiforehete’e i pelekey; fe tsy hinao’e;
26 And the king commands Jerahmeel son of Hammelek, and Seraiah son of Azriel, and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, and YHWH hides them.
vaho linili’ i mpanjakay t’Ierakmeele, ana’ i mpanjakay, naho i Seraià, ana’ i Azriele, naho i Selemià, ana’ i Abdile ty hitsepake i Baroke mpanokitse naho Iirmeà mpitoky; f’ie naeta’ Iehovà.
27 And there is a word of YHWH to Jeremiah—after the king’s burning the scroll, even the words that Baruch has written from the mouth of Jeremiah—saying:
Ie finorototo’ i mpanjakay i pelekey, naho o tsara’ sinoki’ i Baroke am-palie’ Iirmeào le niheo am’ Iirmeà ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
28 “Turn, take another scroll to yourself, and write on it all the former words that were on the first scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah burned,
Mangalà peleke indraike, le hene isokiro i tsara tamy peleke valoha’e nisodore’ i mpanjaka’ Iehodaiiy.
29 and say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus said YHWH: You have burned this scroll, saying, Why have you written on it, saying, The king of Babylon surely comes in, and has destroyed this land, and caused man and beast to cease from it?
Le hoe ty ho saontsie’o am’ Iehoiakime mpanjaka’ Iehodà: Hoe t’Iehovà: Fa noroa’o i pelekey, amy ty hoe, Ino ty nanokira’o ao ty hoe te tsy mete tsy hivotrak’ atoy ty mpanjaka’ i Bavele handrotsake o tane atoio, vaho ho mongore’e ze fonga ondaty naho hare ama’e?
30 Therefore, thus said YHWH concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He has none sitting on the throne of David, and his carcass is cast out to heat by day, and to cold by night;
Aa le hoe t’Iehovà ty am’ Iehoiakime mpanjaka’ Iehodà, t’ie tsy hanan-kiambesatse amy fiambesa’ i Davidey; vaho havokovoko an-tariñandroke ey ty lolo’e te handro, vaho amy fanalay te haleñe.
31 and I have charged on him, and on his seed, and on his servants, their iniquity; and I have brought in on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the men of Judah, all the evil that I have spoken to them, and they did not listen.”
Le ho liloveko, ie naho o tiri’eo naho o mpitoro’eo ty amo hakeo’ iareoo, vaho hafetsako am’ iereo naho amo mpimone’ Ierosalaimeo, naho am’ondati’ Iehodao, ze hene hankàñe nivolañako; o tsy hinao’ iereoo.
32 And Jeremiah has taken another scroll, and gives it to Baruch son of Neriah the scribe, and he writes on it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah has burned in the fire; and again there were added to them many words like these.
Aa le nandrambe peleke ila’e t’Iirmeà, le natolo’e amy Baroke, mpanokitse, ana’ i Nerià; vaho hene sinoki’e ao boak’am-palie’ Iirmeà o tsara’ i peleke noroa’ Iehoiakime mpanjaka’ Iehodaio; mbore tinovo’e tsara maro manahak’ izay.
