Jeremiah 35
1 The word that has been to Jeremiah from YHWH, in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
Palabra que vino a Jeremías de parte de Yahvé en los días de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, diciendo:
2 “Go to the house of the Rechabites, and you have spoken with them, and brought them into the house of YHWH, to one of the chambers, and caused them to drink wine.”
“Ve a la casa de los recabitas y habla con ellos, y hazlos entrar en la casa de Yahvé, en una de las habitaciones, y dales de beber vino.”
3 And I take Jaazaniah son of Jeremiah, son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and all the house of the Rechabites,
Entonces tomé a Jaazanías hijo de Jeremías, hijo de Habazzinías, con sus hermanos, con todos sus hijos y con toda la casa de los recabitas;
4 and bring them into the house of YHWH, to the chamber of the sons of Hanan son of Igdaliah, a man of God, that [is] near to the chamber of the princes, that [is] above the chamber of Maaseiah son of Shallum, keeper of the threshold;
y los llevé a la casa de Yahvé, a la habitación de los hijos de Hanán hijo de Igdaliah, el hombre de Dios, que estaba junto a la habitación de los príncipes, que estaba encima de la habitación de Maasías hijo de Salum, el guardián del umbral.
5 and I put before the sons of the house of the Rechabites goblets full of wine, and cups, and I say to them, “Drink wine.”
Puse delante de los hijos de la casa de los recabitas tazones llenos de vino y copas, y les dije: “¡Beban vino!”
6 And they say, “We do not drink wine: for Jonadab son of Rechab, our father, charged us, saying, You do not drink wine, you and your sons—for all time;
Pero ellos dijeron: “No beberemos vino, porque Jonadab, hijo de Recab, nuestro padre, nos lo ordenó diciendo: “No beberéis vino, ni vosotros ni vuestros hijos, para siempre.
7 and you do not build a house, and you do not sow seed, and you do not plant a vineyard, nor have of [these]; for you dwell in tents all your days, that you may live many days on the face of the ground to where you are sojourning.
No construiréis casa, ni sembraréis semilla, ni plantaréis viña, ni tendréis nada; sino que todos vuestros días habitaréis en tiendas, para que viváis muchos días en la tierra en que vivís como nómadas.’
8 And we listen to the voice of Jonadab son of Rechab, our father, to all that he commanded us, not to drink wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, and our daughters;
Hemos obedecido la voz de Jonadab, hijo de Recab, nuestro padre, en todo lo que nos ordenó: no beber vino en todos nuestros días, ni nosotros, ni nuestras mujeres, ni nuestros hijos, ni nuestras hijas;
9 nor to build houses to dwell in; and we have no vineyard, and field, and seed;
y no construir casas para habitarlas. No tenemos viña, ni campo, ni semilla;
10 and we dwell in tents, and we listen, and we do according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us;
sino que hemos vivido en tiendas, y hemos obedecido y hecho conforme a todo lo que nos mandó nuestro padre Jonadab.
11 and it comes to pass, in the coming up of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to the land, that we say, Come, and we enter Jerusalem, because of the force of the Chaldeans, and because of the force of Aram—and we dwell in Jerusalem.”
Pero cuando Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, subió al país, dijimos: “¡Ven! Vayamos a Jerusalén por miedo al ejército de los caldeos, y por miedo al ejército de los sirios; así moraremos en Jerusalén’”.
12 And there is a word of YHWH to Jeremiah, saying, “Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel:
Entonces vino la palabra de Yahvé a Jeremías, diciendo:
13 Go, and you have said to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Do you not receive instruction to listen to My words? A declaration of YHWH.
“Yahvé de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, dice: ‘Ve y di a los hombres de Judá y a los habitantes de Jerusalén: “¿No recibiréis instrucción para escuchar mis palabras?”, dice Yahvé.
14 The words of Jonadab son of Rechab, when he commanded his sons not to drink wine, have stood, and they have not drunk to this day, for they have obeyed the command of their father; and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not listened to Me.
“Las palabras de Jonadab, hijo de Recab, que ordenó a sus hijos que no bebieran vino, se han cumplido; y hasta el día de hoy no beben, pues obedecen el mandato de su padre; pero yo os he hablado, madrugando y hablando, y no me habéis escuchado.
15 And I send all My servants the prophets to you, rising early and sending, saying, Please turn back, each from his evil way, and amend your doings, indeed, you do not walk after other gods, to serve them; and dwell on the ground that I have given to you and to your fathers; and you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to Me.
También os he enviado a todos mis siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos, diciendo: ‘Cada uno de vosotros debe volver ahora de su mal camino, enmendar sus acciones y no ir tras otros dioses para servirles. Entonces habitaréis en la tierra que os he dado a vosotros y a vuestros padres;’ pero no habéis inclinado vuestro oído ni me habéis escuchado.
16 Because the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab have stood by the command of their father that he commanded them, and this people have not listened to Me,
Los hijos de Jonadab, hijo de Recab, han cumplido el mandamiento de su padre que él les ordenó, pero este pueblo no me ha escuchado.”’
17 therefore, thus said YHWH, God of Hosts, God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing to Judah, and to all inhabitants of Jerusalem, all the calamity that I have spoken against them, because I have spoken to them, and they have not listened, indeed, I call to them, and they have not answered.”
“Por tanto, Yahvé, el Dios de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, dice: ‘He aquí que yo traigo sobre Judá y sobre todos los habitantes de Jerusalén todo el mal que he pronunciado contra ellos, porque les he hablado, pero no han escuchado; y los he llamado, pero no han respondido.’”
18 And Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites: “Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Because that you have listened to the command of your father Jonadab, and you observe all his commands, and do according to all that he commanded you;
Jeremías dijo a la casa de los recabitas: “Yahvé de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, dice: ‘Porque habéis obedecido el mandato de Jonadab, vuestro padre, y habéis guardado todos sus preceptos, y habéis hecho conforme a todo lo que os ha mandado’,
19 therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: A man of Jonadab son of Rechab is not cut off [from] standing before Me all the days.”
por lo tanto Yahvé de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, dice: ‘A Jonadab, hijo de Recab, no le faltará un hombre que esté delante de mí para siempre’”.
