Jeremiah 32
1 The word that has been to Jeremiah from YHWH in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah—it [is] the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar—
Parola che fu rivolta a Geremia dal Signore nell'anno decimo di Sedecìa re di Giuda, cioè nell'anno decimo ottavo di Nabucodònosor.
2 And then the forces of the king of Babylon are laying siege against Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet has been shut up in the court of the prison that [is] in the house of the king of Judah,
L'esercito del re di Babilonia assediava allora Gerusalemme e il profeta Geremia era rinchiuso nell'atrio della prigione, nella reggia del re di Giuda,
3 where Zedekiah king of Judah has shut him up, saying, “Why are you prophesying, saying, Thus said YHWH: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he has captured it;
e ve lo aveva rinchiuso Sedecìa re di Giuda, dicendo: «Perché profetizzi con questa minaccia: Dice il Signore: Ecco metterò questa città in potere del re di Babilonia ed egli la occuperà;
4 and Zedekiah king of Judah does not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but is certainly given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth has spoken with his mouth, and his eyes see his eyes,
Sedecìa re di Giuda non scamperà dalle mani dei Caldei, ma sarà dato in mano del re di Babilonia e parlerà con lui faccia a faccia e si guarderanno negli occhi;
5 and he leads Zedekiah [to] Babylon, and there he is until My inspecting him—a declaration of YHWH—because you fight with the Chaldeans, you do not prosper.”
egli condurrà Sedecìa in Babilonia dove egli resterà finché io non lo visiterò - oracolo del Signore -; se combatterete contro i Caldei, non riuscirete a nulla»?
6 And Jeremiah says, “A word of YHWH has been to me, saying,
Geremia disse: Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
7 Behold, Hanameel son of Shallum, your uncle, is coming to you, saying, Buy my field that [is] in Anathoth for yourself, for the right of redemption [is] yours to buy.”
«Ecco Canamèl, figlio di Sallùm tuo zio, viene da te per dirti: Co'mprati il mio campo, che si trova in Anatòt, perché a te spetta il diritto di riscatto per acquistarlo».
8 And Hanameel, my uncle’s son, comes to me, according to the word of YHWH, to the court of the prison, and says to me, “Please buy my field that [is] in Anathoth, that [is] in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession [is] yours, and redemption yours—buy [it] for yourself.” And I know that it [is] the word of YHWH,
Venne dunque da me Canamèl, figlio di mio zio, secondo la parola del Signore, nell'atrio della prigione e mi disse: «Compra il mio campo che si trova in Anatòt, perché a te spetta il diritto di acquisto e a te tocca il riscatto. Co'mpratelo!». Allora riconobbi che questa era la volontà del Signore
9 and I buy the field that [is] in Anathoth from Hanameel, my uncle’s son, and I weigh the money to him—seventeen shekels of silver.
e comprai il campo da Canamèl, figlio di mio zio, e gli pagai il prezzo: diciassette sicli d'argento.
10 And I write in a scroll, and seal, and cause witnesses to testify, and weigh the silver in balances;
Stesi il documento del contratto, lo sigillai, chiamai i testimoni e pesai l'argento sulla stadera.
11 and I take the purchase scroll, the sealed one, according to law and custom, and the open one;
Quindi presi il documento di compra, quello sigillato e quello aperto, secondo le prescrizioni della legge.
12 and I give the purchase scroll to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Maaseiah, before the eyes of Hanameel, my uncle’s son, and before the eyes of the witnesses, those writing in the purchase scroll, before the eyes of all the Jews who are sitting in the court of the prison.
Diedi il contratto di compra a Baruc figlio di Neria, figlio di Macsia, sotto gli occhi di Canamèl figlio di mio zio e sotto gli occhi dei testimoni che avevano sottoscritto il contratto di compra e sotto gli occhi di tutti i Giudei che si trovavano nell'atrio della prigione.
13 And I charge Baruch before their eyes, saying,
Diedi poi a Baruc quest'ordine:
14 “Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Take these scrolls, this purchase scroll, both the sealed one and the open one, and you have put them in an earthen vessel, that they may remain many days.
«Dice il Signore degli eserciti, Dio di Israele: Prendi i contratti di compra, quello sigillato e quello aperto, e mettili in un vaso di terra, perché si conservino a lungo.
15 For thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards are bought in this land again.”
Poiché dice il Signore degli eserciti, Dio di Israele: Ancora si compreranno case, campi e vigne in questo paese».
16 And I pray to YHWH after my giving the purchase scroll to Baruch son of Neriah, saying,
Pregai il Signore, dopo aver consegnato il contratto di compra a Baruc figlio di Neria:
17 “Aah! Lord YHWH, behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power, and by Your outstretched arm; there is nothing too wonderful for You:
«Ah, Signore Dio, tu hai fatto il cielo e la terra con grande potenza e con braccio forte; nulla ti è impossibile.
18 doing kindness to thousands, and repaying iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their sons after them; God, the great, the mighty, YHWH of Hosts [is] His Name;
Tu usi misericordia con mille e fai subire la pena dell'iniquità dei padri ai loro figli dopo di essi, Dio grande e forte, che ti chiami Signore degli eserciti.
19 great in counsel, and mighty in act, in that Your eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of Adam, to give to each according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;
Tu sei grande nei pensieri e potente nelle opere, tu, i cui occhi sono aperti su tutte le vie degli uomini, per dare a ciascuno secondo la sua condotta e il merito delle sue azioni.
20 in that you have done signs and wonders in the land of Egypt to this day, and in Israel, and among men, and You make for Yourself a name as [at] this day.
Tu hai operato segni e miracoli nel paese di Egitto e fino ad oggi in Israele e fra tutti gli uomini e ti sei fatto un nome come appare oggi.
21 And You bring forth Your people Israel from the land of Egypt, with signs and with wonders, and by a strong hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great fear,
Tu hai fatto uscire dall'Egitto il tuo popolo Israele con segni e con miracoli, con mano forte e con braccio possente e incutendo grande spavento.
22 and you give to them this land that you swore to their fathers to give to them, a land flowing with milk and honey,
Hai dato loro questo paese, che avevi giurato ai loro padri di dare loro, terra in cui scorre latte e miele.
23 and they come in, and possess it, and they have not listened to Your voice, and have not walked in Your law, all that which You laid a charge on them to do they have not done, and You proclaim all this calamity [to] them.
Essi vennero e ne presero possesso, ma non ascoltarono la tua voce, non camminarono secondo la tua legge, non fecero quanto avevi comandato loro di fare; perciò tu hai mandato su di loro tutte queste sciagure.
24 Behold, the [siege] mounds have come to the city to capture it, and the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it, because of the sword, and the famine, and the pestilence; and that which You have spoken has come to pass, and behold, You are seeing.
Ecco, le opere di assedio hanno raggiunto la città per occuparla; la città sarà data in mano ai Caldei che l'assediano con la spada, la fame e la peste. Ciò che tu avevi detto avviene; ecco, tu lo vedi.
25 Yet You have said to me, O Lord YHWH, Buy the field for yourself with money, and cause witnesses to testify—and the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans!”
E tu, Signore Dio, mi dici: Comprati il campo con denaro e chiama i testimoni, mentre la città sarà messa in mano ai Caldei».
26 And the word of YHWH is to Jeremiah, saying,
Allora mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
27 “Behold, I [am] YHWH, God of all flesh: is anything too wonderful for Me?”
«Ecco, io sono il Signore Dio di ogni essere vivente; qualcosa è forse impossibile per me?
28 Therefore, thus said YHWH: “Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he has captured it.
Pertanto dice il Signore: Ecco io darò questa città in mano ai Caldei e a Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia, il quale la prenderà.
29 And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city have come in, and they have set this city on fire, and have burned it—and the houses on whose roofs they made incense to Ba‘al, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods, so as to provoke Me to anger.
Vi entreranno i Caldei che combattono contro questa città, bruceranno questa città con il fuoco e daranno alle fiamme le case sulle cui terrazze si offriva incenso a Baal e si facevano libazioni agli altri dei per provocarmi.
30 For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been doing only evil in My eyes from their youth; for the sons of Israel are surely provoking Me with the work of their hands,” a declaration of YHWH.
Gli Israeliti e i figli di Giuda non hanno fatto che quanto è male ai miei occhi fin dalla loro giovinezza; gli Israeliti hanno soltanto saputo offendermi con il lavoro delle loro mani. Oracolo del Signore.
31 “For this city has been a cause of My anger and a cause of My fury, even from the day that they built it, and to this day—to turn it aside from before My face,
Poiché causa della mia ira e del mio sdegno è stata questa città da quando la edificarono fino ad oggi; così io la farò scomparire dalla mia presenza,
32 because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me—they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
a causa di tutto il male che gli Israeliti e i figli di Giuda commisero per provocarmi, essi, i loro re, i loro capi, i loro sacerdoti e i loro profeti, gli uomini di Giuda e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
33 And they turn the neck to Me, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not listening to accept instruction.
Essi mi voltarono la schiena invece della faccia; io li istruivo con continua premura, ma essi non ascoltarono e non impararono la correzione.
34 And they set their abominations in the house over which My Name is called, so as to defile it.
Essi collocarono i loro idoli abominevoli perfino nel tempio che porta il mio nome per contaminarlo
35 And they build the high places of Ba‘al that [are] in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on My heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin.
e costruirono le alture di Baal nella valle di Ben-Hinnòn per far passare per il fuoco i loro figli e le loro figlie in onore di Moloch - cosa che io non avevo comandato, anzi neppure avevo pensato di istituire un abominio simile -, per indurre a peccare Giuda».
36 And now, therefore, thus said YHWH, God of Israel, concerning this city, of which you are saying, It has been given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence:
Ora così dice il Signore Dio di Israele, riguardo a questa città che voi dite sarà data in mano al re di Babilonia per mezzo della spada, della fame e della peste:
37 Behold, I am gathering them out of all the lands to where I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath, and I have brought them back to this place, and have caused them to dwell confidently;
«Ecco, li radunerò da tutti i paesi nei quali li ho dispersi nella mia ira, nel mio furore e nel mio grande sdegno; li farò tornare in questo luogo e li farò abitare tranquilli.
38 and they have been to Me for a people, and I am to them for God;
Essi saranno il mio popolo e io sarò il loro Dio.
39 and I have given to them one heart and one way, to fear Me all the days, for the good of them and their sons after them:
Darò loro un solo cuore e un solo modo di comportarsi perché mi temano tutti i giorni per il loro bene e per quello dei loro figli dopo di essi.
40 and I have made a perpetual covenant for them, in that I do not turn back from after them for My doing them good, and I put My fear in their heart, so as not to turn aside from me;
Concluderò con essi un'alleanza eterna e non mi allontanerò più da loro per beneficarli; metterò nei loro cuori il mio timore, perché non si distacchino da me.
41 and I have rejoiced over them to do them good, and have planted them in this land in truth, with all my heart, and with all My soul.”
Godrò nel beneficarli, li fisserò stabilmente in questo paese, con tutto il cuore e con tutta l'anima».
42 For thus said YHWH: “As I brought to this people all this great calamity, so I am bringing on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;
Poiché così dice il Signore: «Come ho mandato su questo popolo tutto questo grande male, così io manderò su di loro tutto il bene che ho loro promesso.
43 and the field has been bought in this land of which you are saying, It [is] a desolation, without man and beast, it has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
E compreranno campi in questo paese, di cui voi dite: E' una desolazione, senza uomini e senza bestiame, lasciato in mano ai Caldei.
44 They buy fields with money, so as to write in a scroll, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in outskirts of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I return their captivity,” a declaration of YHWH.
Essi si compreranno campi con denaro, stenderanno contratti e li sigilleranno e si chiameranno testimoni nella terra di Beniamino e nei dintorni di Gerusalemme, nelle città di Giuda e nelle città della montagna e nelle città della Sefèla e nelle città del mezzogiorno, perché cambierò la loro sorte». Oracolo del Signore.
