Jeremiah 32

1 The word that has been to Jeremiah from YHWH in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah—it [is] the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar—

यहूदिया के राजा सीदकियाहू के राज्य-काल के दसवें वर्ष में, जो नबूकदनेज्ज़र के राज्य-काल का अठारहवां वर्ष था, याहवेह का संदेश येरेमियाह को भेजा गया.

2 And then the forces of the king of Babylon are laying siege against Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet has been shut up in the court of the prison that [is] in the house of the king of Judah,

इस समय बाबेल के राजा की सेना येरूशलेम को घेरे हुए थी तथा भविष्यद्वक्ता येरेमियाह को यहूदिया के राजा के महलों के पहरे के आंगन में बंदी बनाकर रखा गया था.

3 where Zedekiah king of Judah has shut him up, saying, “Why are you prophesying, saying, Thus said YHWH: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he has captured it;

क्योंकि यहूदिया के राजा सीदकियाहू ने येरेमियाह को यह कहते हुए बंदी बना रखा था, “तुम यह कहते हुए भविष्यवाणी क्यों करते हो? ‘यह याहवेह का संदेश है, यह देखना, मैं इस नगर को बाबेल के राजा के हाथों में सौंपने पर हूं, और वह इसे प्राप्‍त कर लेगा.

4 and Zedekiah king of Judah does not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but is certainly given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth has spoken with his mouth, and his eyes see his eyes,

तथा यहूदिया का राजा सीदकियाहू के अधिकार से विमुक्त नहीं हो सकेगा, बल्कि वह निश्चयतः बाबेल के राजा के हाथों में सौंप दिया जाएगा. तब वह आमने-सामने उससे वार्तालाप करेगा तथा वे एक दूसरे को अपने-अपने नेत्रों से देख सकेंगे.

5 and he leads Zedekiah [to] Babylon, and there he is until My inspecting him—a declaration of YHWH—because you fight with the Chaldeans, you do not prosper.”

बाबेल का राजा सीदकियाहू को अपने साथ बाबेल ले जाएगा और वह वहां उस समय तक रखा जाएगा, जब तक मैं उससे भेंट करने वहां न पहुंचूं, यह याहवेह की वाणी है. यदि तुम कसदियों पर आक्रमण भी करो, तुम्हें सफलता प्राप्‍त न होगी.’”

6 And Jeremiah says, “A word of YHWH has been to me, saying,

येरेमियाह ने यह सूचना दी, “मुझे याहवेह का यह संदेश प्राप्‍त हुआ:

7 Behold, Hanameel son of Shallum, your uncle, is coming to you, saying, Buy my field that [is] in Anathoth for yourself, for the right of redemption [is] yours to buy.”

यह देखना, तुम्हारे चाचा शल्लूम का पुत्र हनामेल तुमसे भेंट करने आ रहा है. वह तुमसे कहेगा, ‘अनाथोथ का मेरा खेत तुम मोल ले लो, क्योंकि विधान के अंतर्गत यह तुम्हारा ही अधिकार है.’

8 And Hanameel, my uncle’s son, comes to me, according to the word of YHWH, to the court of the prison, and says to me, “Please buy my field that [is] in Anathoth, that [is] in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession [is] yours, and redemption yours—buy [it] for yourself.” And I know that it [is] the word of YHWH,

“तब मेरे चाचा का पुत्र हनामेल, याहवेह के संदेश के अनुरूप, पहरे के आंगन में मुझसे भेंट करने आया और मुझसे कहा, ‘बिन्यामिन प्रदेश के अनाथोथ में मेरा जो खेत है, उसे तुम मोल ले लो. क्योंकि उसके स्वामित्व को तथा उसके निष्क्रय का अधिकार तुम्हारा ही है, तुम्हीं इसे मोल ले लो.’ “तब मुझे यह निश्चय हो गया कि यह याहवेह ही का संदेश था;

9 and I buy the field that [is] in Anathoth from Hanameel, my uncle’s son, and I weigh the money to him—seventeen shekels of silver.

मैंने अपने चाचा के पुत्र हनामेल से अनाथोथ का खेत मोल ले लिया, इसके लिए मैंने दो सौ ग्राम चांदी उसके लिए तौल दी.

10 And I write in a scroll, and seal, and cause witnesses to testify, and weigh the silver in balances;

मैंने बंधक-पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किए तथा उस पर मोहर लगा दी, तब मैंने गवाहों को आमंत्रित किया और तुलामान पर चांदी तौल दी.

11 and I take the purchase scroll, the sealed one, according to law and custom, and the open one;

तब मैंने क्रय-बन्धक पत्र लिए—दोनों ही वह, जिस पर मोहर लगी हुई थी, जिसमें नियम तथा शर्तें निहित थी तथा वह, जो खुली हुई प्रति थी—

12 and I give the purchase scroll to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Maaseiah, before the eyes of Hanameel, my uncle’s son, and before the eyes of the witnesses, those writing in the purchase scroll, before the eyes of all the Jews who are sitting in the court of the prison.

मैंने क्रय-बन्धक पत्र अपने चाचा के पुत्र हनामेल ही के समक्ष तथा उन साक्ष्यों के समक्ष, जिन्होंने बंधक-पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किए थे तथा पहरे के आंगन में उस समय बैठे हुए यहूदियों के समक्ष, माहसेइयाह के पौत्र, नेरियाह के पुत्र बारूख को सौंप दिया.

13 And I charge Baruch before their eyes, saying,

“तब मैंने बारूख को उन्हीं की उपस्थिति में सूचित किया:

14 “Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Take these scrolls, this purchase scroll, both the sealed one and the open one, and you have put them in an earthen vessel, that they may remain many days.

‘इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह का आदेश है: इन बंधक पत्रों को मोहर लगे क्रय-बन्धक पत्र को तथा इस खुले बंधक-पत्र को लेकर एक मिट्टी के बर्तन में संजो दो, कि ये दीर्घ काल तक सुरक्षित बने रहें.

15 For thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards are bought in this land again.”

क्योंकि इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह की वाणी यह है: आवास, खेत तथा द्राक्षाउद्यान इस देश में पुनः मोल लिए जाएंगे.’

16 And I pray to YHWH after my giving the purchase scroll to Baruch son of Neriah, saying,

“जब मैं नेरियाह के पुत्र बारूख को क्रय-बन्धक पत्र सौंप चुका, तब मैंने याहवेह से यह बिनती की:

17 “Aah! Lord YHWH, behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power, and by Your outstretched arm; there is nothing too wonderful for You:

“प्रभु याहवेह, आपने, मैं जानता हूं आपने अपने विलक्षण सामर्थ्य तथा विस्तीर्ण भुजा के द्वारा आकाश और पृथ्वी की सृष्टि की है. असंभव तो आपके समक्ष कुछ भी नहीं है.

18 doing kindness to thousands, and repaying iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their sons after them; God, the great, the mighty, YHWH of Hosts [is] His Name;

सहस्रों पर आप निर्जर प्रेम अभिव्यक्त करते हैं, किंतु इसके विपरीत आप माता-पिता अथवा पूर्वजों की पापिष्ठता का प्रतिफल उनकी संतान की गोद में डाल देते हैं, आपका नाम सेनाओं के याहवेह है,

19 great in counsel, and mighty in act, in that Your eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of Adam, to give to each according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;

महान हैं आपके संकल्प और पराक्रमी आपके कर्म! आपकी दृष्टि मानव की हर एक गतिविधि पर लगी रहती है; आप हर एक को उसके आचरण एवं उसके कार्यों के परिणाम के अनुरूप प्रतिफल देते हैं.

20 in that you have done signs and wonders in the land of Egypt to this day, and in Israel, and among men, and You make for Yourself a name as [at] this day.

आपने मिस्र देश में चिन्हों एवं विलक्षण कृत्यों का प्रदर्शन किया तथा आप इस्राएल में तथा सारे मानव जाति दोनों ही के मध्य आज भी कर रहे हैं, तथा आपने अपनी प्रतिष्ठा स्थापित कर ली है, जो आज भी स्थापित है.

21 And You bring forth Your people Israel from the land of Egypt, with signs and with wonders, and by a strong hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great fear,

आपने अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल का मिस्र देश से चिन्हों एवं विलक्षण कार्यों तथा सशक्त बाहुबल, विस्तीर्ण भुजा के सिवा घोर आतंक के साथ निकास किया.

22 and you give to them this land that you swore to their fathers to give to them, a land flowing with milk and honey,

तब आपने उन्हें यह देश दे दिया, जिसे देने की शपथ आपने उनके पूर्वजों से की थी, वह देश जिसमें दुग्ध एवं मधु का बहाव है.

23 and they come in, and possess it, and they have not listened to Your voice, and have not walked in Your law, all that which You laid a charge on them to do they have not done, and You proclaim all this calamity [to] them.

उन्होंने आकर इस पर अधिकार तो कर लिया, किंतु उन्होंने न तो आपके आदेशों का पालन ही किया और न ही आपके व्यवस्था-विधान का अनुकरण; आपके द्वारा उन्हें जो सारे आदेश दिए गए थे, उन्होंने उनमें से किसी का भी अनुकरण नहीं किया है. यही कारण है, कि आपने उन पर यह विपत्ति आने दी है.

24 Behold, the [siege] mounds have come to the city to capture it, and the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it, because of the sword, and the famine, and the pestilence; and that which You have spoken has come to pass, and behold, You are seeing.

“यह भी देखिए कि नगर अभिग्रहण के लक्ष्य से निर्मित घेराबंदी की ढलान नगर तक पहुंच चुकी है. तलवार, अकाल तथा महामारी के कारण नगर कसदियों के अधिकार में जा चुका है, जिन्होंने इस पर आक्रमण किया है. वस्तुतः इसलिये कि यह आप ही की पूर्वोक्ति है जो कृतार्थ हो रही है, और अब आप ही देख रहे हैं, कि ऐसा ही हो रहा है.

25 Yet You have said to me, O Lord YHWH, Buy the field for yourself with money, and cause witnesses to testify—and the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans!”

प्रभु याहवेह, आपने ही मुझे आदेश दिया था, अपने लिए मूल्य चुका कर खेत क्रय कर लो तथा गवाहों को बुला लो, जबकि नगर कसदियों को सौंपा जा चुका है.”

26 And the word of YHWH is to Jeremiah, saying,

इस पर येरेमियाह को याहवेह का यह संदेश प्राप्‍त हुआ:

27 “Behold, I [am] YHWH, God of all flesh: is anything too wonderful for Me?”

“यह स्मरण रखो, मैं याहवेह हूं, सभी मनुष्यों का परमेश्वर. क्या कोई भी ऐसा विषय है, जो मेरे लिए दुस्साध्य है?

28 Therefore, thus said YHWH: “Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he has captured it.

इसलिये याहवेह की वाणी यह है: सुनो, मैं यह नगर कसदियों को सौंपने पर हूं तथा बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र के हाथ में, जो इसे प्राप्‍त कर लेगा.

29 And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city have come in, and they have set this city on fire, and have burned it—and the houses on whose roofs they made incense to Ba‘al, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods, so as to provoke Me to anger.

इस नगर पर आक्रमण करनेवाले कसदी, नगर में प्रवेश कर नगर में आग लगाकर इसे भस्म कर देंगे; इसमें वे भवन भी सम्मिलित होंगे, जहां छतों पर लोगों ने बाल के लिए धूप जलाया, परकीय देवताओं के लिए पेय बलिदान उंडेला और मेरे कोप को उकसाया.

30 For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been doing only evil in My eyes from their youth; for the sons of Israel are surely provoking Me with the work of their hands,” a declaration of YHWH.

“इस्राएल तथा यहूदाह गोत्रज अपनी बाल्यावस्था ही से वही करते आए हैं, जो मेरी दृष्टि में ठीक नहीं है; इस्राएल वंशज अपनी हस्तकृतियों के द्वारा मेरे कोप को उकसाते आए हैं, यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

31 “For this city has been a cause of My anger and a cause of My fury, even from the day that they built it, and to this day—to turn it aside from before My face,

यह सत्य है कि जिस दिन से इस नगर की स्थापना हुई है, उसी दिन से आज तक यह नगर मेरे क्रोध एवं कोप को उकसाता रहा है, इसलिये यह आवश्यक है कि यह मेरी दृष्टि से दूर कर दिया जाए.

32 because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me—they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

मेरे कोप को भड़काने के लिए इस्राएल एवं यहूदाह गोत्रजों ने जो दुष्टता की है; उन्होंने, उनके राजाओं ने, उनके नायकों ने, उनके पुरोहितों ने, उनके भविष्यवक्ताओं ने तथा येरूशलेम एवं यहूदिया के निवासियों ने भी.

33 And they turn the neck to Me, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not listening to accept instruction.

मेरी ओर उन्मुख होने की अपेक्षा वे मुझसे विमुख हो गए हैं, यद्यपि मैं उन्हें शिक्षा देता रहा बार-बार शिक्षा देता रहा, किंतु उन्होंने न तो मेरी सुनी और न मेरी शिक्षा का स्वीकार ही किया.

34 And they set their abominations in the house over which My Name is called, so as to defile it.

इतना ही नहीं उन्होंने मेरे नाम में प्रतिष्ठित भवन को अशुद्ध करने के लक्ष्य से अपनी घृणास्पद वस्तुओं को उसमें स्थापित कर दिया है.

35 And they build the high places of Ba‘al that [are] in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on My heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin.

उन्होंने बेन-हिन्‍नोम की घाटी में बाल के लिए पूजा स्थलों का निर्माण किया कि वे मोलेख के लिए अपने पुत्र-पुत्रियों को अग्निबलि प्रथा में समर्पित करें, मैंने उन्हें इसके लिए कोई आदेश न दिया था; हालांकि इसका तो विचार ही मेरे मस्तिष्क में नहीं आया, कि वे यह घृणित कार्य करें तथा यहूदिया को यह पाप करने के लिए प्रेरित करें.

36 And now, therefore, thus said YHWH, God of Israel, concerning this city, of which you are saying, It has been given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence:

“इसलिये अब इस नगर के विषय में, जिसके संबंध में तुम्हीं यह कह रहे हो, ‘तलवार, अकाल तथा महामारी के कारण यह नगर बाबेल के राजा के हाथ में दे दिया गया है’; याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की यह वाणी है,

37 Behold, I am gathering them out of all the lands to where I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath, and I have brought them back to this place, and have caused them to dwell confidently;

तुम देखना, कि मैं उन्हें उन सभी देशों से एकत्र करूंगा, जिनमें मैंने उन्हें अपने कोप के कारण दूर कर दिया था. अपने क्रोध में, अपने कोप में तथा अपने उग्र आक्रोश में, मैं उन्हें इस देश में लौटा ले आऊंगा कि वे यहां पूर्ण सुरक्षा में निवास करने लगें.

38 and they have been to Me for a people, and I am to them for God;

वे मेरी प्रजा होंगे तथा मैं उनका परमेश्वर.

39 and I have given to them one heart and one way, to fear Me all the days, for the good of them and their sons after them:

मैं उन्हें एकनिष्ठ हृदय तथा एकमात्र अभीष्ट प्रदान करूंगा, कि उनमें मेरे प्रति सदा-सर्वदा को उन्हीं के तथा उनके बाद उनकी संतान के कल्याण के निमित्त चिरस्थायी श्रद्धा व्याप्‍त हो जाए.

40 and I have made a perpetual covenant for them, in that I do not turn back from after them for My doing them good, and I put My fear in their heart, so as not to turn aside from me;

मैं उनसे चिरकालीन वाचा स्थापित करूंगा; कि मैं उनसे विमुख न होऊं, कि उनका हित हो, और मैं उनके हृदय में अपने प्रति ऐसा श्रद्धा संस्थापित कर दूंगा, कि वे मुझसे विमुख कभी न हों.

41 and I have rejoiced over them to do them good, and have planted them in this land in truth, with all my heart, and with all My soul.”

अपने संपूर्ण हृदय से तथा अपने संपूर्ण प्राण से उनका हित करना तथा उन्हें इस देश में बसा देना मेरे अतीव हर्ष का विषय होगा.

42 For thus said YHWH: “As I brought to this people all this great calamity, so I am bringing on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;

“क्योंकि याहवेह की वाणी यह है: ठीक जिस प्रकार मैंने उन पर ये घोर विपत्तियां डाली हैं, ठीक उसी प्रकार मैं उन पर वह सारी समृद्धि ले आऊंगा, जिसकी मैं प्रतिज्ञा कर रहा हूं.

43 and the field has been bought in this land of which you are saying, It [is] a desolation, without man and beast, it has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

इस देश में, अब खेत मोल लिए जाएंगे, जिसके विषय में तुम कहते रहते हो, ‘उजाड़ हो चुका है यह देश, इसमें अब न तो मनुष्य शेष रह गए हैं, न पशु; सब कुछ कसदियों के अधिकार में जा चुका है.’

44 They buy fields with money, so as to write in a scroll, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in outskirts of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I return their captivity,” a declaration of YHWH.

लोग चांदी देकर खेत क्रय कर लेंगे, वे बंधक-पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर करेंगे तथा उसे आमंत्रित साक्ष्यों को सारे मोहरबन्द कर देंगे. यह सब बिन्यामिन प्रदेश में होगा, येरूशलेम के उपनगरों में होगा यहूदिया के नगरों में होगा, घाटी के नगरों में होगा तथा नेगेव के नगरों में होगा; क्योंकि मैं समृद्धि लौटा दूंगा, यह याहवेह की वाणी है.”
