< Jeremiah 28 >

1 And it comes to pass, in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah son of Azur the prophet, who [is] of Gibeon, has spoken to me in the house of YHWH, before the eyes of the priests, and all the people, saying,
Ɔbosome a ɛtɔ so enum wɔ afe korɔ a ɛyɛ Yudahene Sedekia adedie ahyɛaseɛ, afe a ɛtɔ so ɛnan no mu, odiyifoɔ Hanania a ɔyɛ Asur a ɔfiri Gibeon babarima no ka kyerɛɛ me wɔ Awurade efie ɛberɛ a na asɔfoɔ ne nnipa no nyinaa ahyia sɛ,
2 “Thus spoke YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;
“Yei ne deɛ Asafo Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn seɛ: ‘Mɛbubu Babiloniahene kɔnnua no.
3 within two years of days I am bringing back to this place all the vessels of the house of YHWH that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken from this place, and carries to Babylon,
Mfeɛ mmienu mu no, mede Awurade efie mu nneɛma a Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar bɛfa firii ha kɔɔ Babilonia no nyinaa bɛsane aba bio.
4 and Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the expulsion of Judah, who are entering Babylon, I am bringing back to this place—a declaration of YHWH; for I break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”
Na mɛsane de Yehoiakin a ɔyɛ Yudahene Yehoiakim babarima ne Yuda nnommumfoɔ a wɔkɔɔ Babilonia no nyinaa aba bio’ sei na Awurade seɛ, ‘na mɛbubu Babiloniahene kɔnnua no.’”
5 And Jeremiah the prophet says to Hananiah the prophet, before the eyes of the priests, and before the eyes of all the people who are standing in the house of YHWH,
Na odiyifoɔ Yeremia buaa odiyifoɔ Hanania wɔ asɔfoɔ ne nnipa a na wɔgyinagyina Awurade efie no nyinaa anim.
6 indeed, Jeremiah the prophet says, “Amen! So may YHWH do; YHWH establish your words that you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the house of YHWH and all the expulsion from Babylon, to this place.
Ɔkaa sɛ, “Amen! Ma Awurade nyɛ no saa! Ma Awurade mma wo nkɔm a woahyɛ sɛ wɔde Awurade efie nneɛma no nyinaa ne nnommumfoɔ bɛfiri Babilonia asane aba ɛha yi no mmra mu.
7 Only, please hear this word that I am speaking in your ears, and in the ears of all the people.
Nanso, tie asɛm a ɛsɛ sɛ meka ma wote na nnipa no nyinaa nso teɛ:
8 The prophets who have been before me, and before you, from of old, even they prophesy concerning many lands, and concerning great kingdoms, of battle, and of calamity, and of pestilence.
Ɛfiri tete no, adiyifoɔ a wɔdii mʼanim ne wʼanim no hyehyɛɛ ɔko, amanehunu ne ɔyaredɔm ho nkɔm tiaa aman bebree ne ahennie akɛseɛ.
9 The prophet who prophesies of peace, by the word of the prophet coming to pass, the prophet is known [as] one whom YHWH has truly sent.”
Nanso odiyifoɔ a ɔhyɛ asomdwoeɛ ho nkɔm no, sɛ ne nkɔmhyɛ no ba mu a wɔbɛgye no atom sɛ obi a ampa ara Awurade asoma no.”
10 And Hananiah the prophet takes the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaks it,
Na odiyifoɔ Hanania yii kɔnnua no firii odiyifoɔ Yeremia kɔn mu, bubuu mu,
11 and Hananiah speaks before the eyes of all the people, saying, “Thus said YHWH: Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations”; and Jeremiah the prophet goes on his way.
na ɔkaeɛ wɔ nnipa no nyinaa anim sɛ, “Yei ne deɛ Awurade seɛ: ‘Saa ara na mɛbubu Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar kɔnnua no afiri amanaman nyinaa kɔn mu wɔ mfeɛ mmienu mu.’” Odiyifoɔ Yeremia tee yei no ɔfirii hɔ kɔeɛ.
12 And there is a word of YHWH to Jeremiah after the breaking, by Hananiah the prophet, of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
Odiyifoɔ Hanania bubuu kɔnnua no firii odiyifoɔ Yeremia kɔn mu akyire no, Awurade asɛm baa Yeremia nkyɛn sɛ:
13 “Go, and you have spoken to Hananiah, saying, Thus said YHWH: You have broken yokes of wood, and I have made yokes of iron instead of them.
“Kɔ na kɔka kyerɛ Hanania sɛ, ‘Yei ne deɛ Awurade seɛ: Woabubu dua kɔnnua mu, nanso mede dadeɛ kɔnnua bɛsi anan mu.
14 For thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and I have also given the beast of the field to him.”
Na sɛdeɛ Asafo Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn no seɛ nie: Mede dadeɛ kɔnnua bɛto amanaman nyinaa kɔn mu, ama wɔn asom Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar, na wɔbɛsom no. Na mpo mɛma no adi wiram mmoa so.’”
15 And Jeremiah the prophet says to Hananiah the prophet, “Now hear, O Hananiah; YHWH has not sent you, and you have caused this people to trust on falsehood.
Na odiyifoɔ Yeremia ka kyerɛɛ odiyifoɔ Hanania sɛ, “Tie, Hanania! Awurade nsomaa wo, nanso, woama ɔman yi agye atorɔ ato mu.
16 Therefore, thus said YHWH: Behold, I am casting you from off the face of the ground; you die this year, for you have spoken apostasy concerning YHWH.”
Ɛno enti, sɛ Awurade seɛ nie: ‘Merebɛyi wo afiri asase so. Afeɛ yi mu ara wobɛwu, ɛfiri sɛ woaka atuateɛ nsɛm atia Awurade.’”
17 And Hananiah the prophet dies in that year, in the seventh month.
Ɔbosome a ɛtɔ so nson wɔ afe no ara mu no, odiyifoɔ Hanania wuiɛ.
