Jeremiah 25

1 The word that has been to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah—it [is] the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon—

യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യോശിയാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ നാലാമാണ്ടിൽ, ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ ഒന്നാമാണ്ടിൽത്തന്നെ, എല്ലാ യെഹൂദാജനത്തെയുംപറ്റി യിരെമ്യാവിനുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാട്:

2 Which Jeremiah the prophet has spoken concerning all the people of Judah, even to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

അങ്ങനെ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ അത് എല്ലാ യെഹൂദാജനത്തോടും ജെറുശലേംനിവാസികളായ എല്ലാവരോടും അറിയിച്ചത് ഇപ്രകാരമായിരുന്നു:

3 “From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and to this day—this twenty-third year—the word of YHWH has been to me, and I speak to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not listened;

യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആമോന്റെ മകൻ യോശിയാവിന്റെ പതിമ്മൂന്നാംവർഷംമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയുള്ള ഈ ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നു വർഷക്കാലവും യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്കുണ്ടാകുകയും ഞാൻ അതു വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു, എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അതു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചതേയില്ല.

4 and YHWH has sent all His servants to you, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying,

യഹോവ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ എല്ലാ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയോ കേൾക്കാൻ ചെവിചായ്‌ക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല.

5 Please turn back, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that YHWH has given to you and to your fathers from age to age,

“നിങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തരും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷിച്ചവഴികളിൽനിന്നും ദുരാചാരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും തിരിയുക. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കും എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി നൽകിയിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വസിക്കാൻ കഴിയും.

6 and you do not go after other gods to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do you provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;

അന്യദേവതകളെ സേവിക്കാനോ ആരാധിക്കാനോ അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ പോകരുത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ നിർമിതികൊണ്ട് എന്നെ പ്രകോപിപ്പിക്കുകയുമരുത്. എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു അനർഥവും വരുത്തുകയില്ല,” എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

7 and you have not listened to Me,” a declaration of YHWH, “so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you.

“എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചില്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെതന്നെ ദോഷത്തിനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി നിങ്ങൾ അപ്രകാരംചെയ്തു,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

8 Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts: Because that you have not obeyed My words,

അതിനാൽ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വചനം അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കുക നിമിത്തം,

9 behold, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north—a declaration of YHWH—even to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for continuous ruins.

വടക്കുള്ള എല്ലാ ജനതകളെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിനെയും ഈ ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരേയും അതിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ നേരേയും ചുറ്റുപാടുമുള്ള എല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ നേരേയും അയച്ചിട്ട്, അവരെ നിശ്ശേഷം നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും. ഞാൻ അവരെ ഒരു സ്തംഭനവിഷയവും പരിഹാസവും നിത്യശൂന്യതയുമാക്കിത്തീർക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

10 And I have destroyed from them the voice of rejoicing, and the voice of joy, voice of bridegroom and voice of bride, noise of millstones, and the light of lamps.

“മാത്രമല്ല, ഞാൻ ആഹ്ലാദാരവവും ആനന്ദധ്വനിയും മണവാളന്റെ സ്വരവും മണവാട്ടിയുടെ സ്വരവും തിരികല്ലിന്റെ ശബ്ദവും വിളക്കിന്റെ വെളിച്ചവും അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കിക്കളയും.

11 And all this land has been for a desolation, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years.

ഈ ദേശമൊന്നാകെ ശൂന്യതയും ഭീതിവിഷയവുമായിത്തീരും. ഈ ജനതകൾ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനെ എഴുപതുവർഷം സേവിക്കും എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

12 And it has come to pass, at the fullness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation,” a declaration of YHWH, “their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for continuous desolations.

“എന്നാൽ ആ എഴുപതുവർഷം തികയുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനെയും ആ ജനതയെയും ബാബേൽദേശത്തെയും അവരുടെ അകൃത്യം നിമിത്തം ശിക്ഷിക്കും. ഞാൻ അതിനെ എന്നെന്നേക്കും ഒരു ശൂന്യദേശമാക്കിത്തീർക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

13 And I have brought in on that land all My words that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this scroll, that Jeremiah has prophesied concerning all the nations.

“അതിനെതിരേ ഞാൻ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള എല്ലാ വചനങ്ങളും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ എല്ലാ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കുമെതിരെ പ്രവചിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതായി ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള സകലവചനങ്ങളും ഞാൻ ആ ദേശത്തിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തും.

14 For laid service on them—also them—have many nations and great kings, and I have given repayment to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands.”

അനേകം രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളും മഹാന്മാരായ രാജാക്കന്മാരും അവരെ അടിമകളാക്കിത്തീർക്കും; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ കർമങ്ങൾക്കും അവരുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും തക്കവണ്ണം അവർക്കു പകരംചെയ്യും.”

15 For thus said YHWH, God of Israel, to me: “Take the wine cup of this fury out of My hand, and you have caused all the nations to drink it to whom I am sending you;

ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത് ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്: “എന്റെ ക്രോധമദ്യം അടങ്ങിയ ഈ പാനപാത്രം എന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു വാങ്ങി, ഞാൻ ഏതെല്ലാം ജനതകളുടെ മധ്യത്തിലേക്കു നിന്നെ അയയ്ക്കുന്നുവോ അവരെയെല്ലാം അതു കുടിപ്പിക്കുക.

16 and they have drunk, and shaken themselves and shown themselves [to be] foolish, because of the sword that I am sending among them.”

അവർ അതു കുടിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിലേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കുന്ന വാൾനിമിത്തം ചാഞ്ചാടി ഭ്രാന്തരായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും.”

17 And I take the cup out of the hand of YHWH, and cause all the nations to drink to whom YHWH sent me:

അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് ആ പാനപാത്രം വാങ്ങി യഹോവ എന്നെ അയച്ച എല്ലാ ജനതകളെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു:

18 Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, And its kings, its heads, To give them to ruin, to astonishment, To hissing, and to reviling, as [at] this day;

ജെറുശലേം, യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങൾ, രാജാക്കന്മാർ, പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ഇവരെല്ലാം ഇന്ന് ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഒരു ശൂന്യതയും ഭീതിവിഷയവും പരിഹാസവും ശാപവും ആയിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന് അവരെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;

19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, And his heads, and all his people,

ഈജിപ്റ്റ് രാജാവായ ഫറവോൻ, അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ, പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ഇവരെയും, അവന്റെ സകലജനത്തെയും

20 And all the mixed people, And all the kings of the land of Uz, And all the kings of the land of the Philistines, And Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, And the remnant of Ashdod,

അവിടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ വിദേശജനതകളെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു; ഊസ് ദേശത്തിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും അസ്കലോൻ, ഗസ്സാ, എക്രോൻ എന്നീ ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശങ്ങളിലെ എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും, അശ്ദോദിൽ ശേഷിക്കുന്ന ജനത്തെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;

21 Edom, and Moab, and the sons of Ammon,

ഏദോമിനെയും മോവാബിനെയും അമ്മോന്യരെയും;

22 And all the kings of Tyre, And all the kings of Sidon, And the kings of the island that [is] beyond the sea,

സോർദേശത്തിലെയും സീദോൻദേശത്തിലെയും എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു; സമുദ്രത്തിനക്കരെയുള്ള തീരദേശങ്ങളിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും;

23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, And all cutting the corners [of the beard],

ദേദാനെയും തേമായെയും ബൂസിനെയും തലയുടെ അരികു വടിക്കുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;

24 And all the kings of Arabia, And all the kings of the mixed people, Who are dwelling in the wilderness,

അറേബ്യയിലെ എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും മരുഭൂമിയിലുള്ള വിദേശരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും

25 And all the kings of Zimri, And all the kings of Elam, And all the kings of Media,

സകലസിമ്രിരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും ഏലാമിലെയും മേദ്യയിലെയും സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു;

26 And all the kings of the north, The near and the far off to one another, And all the kingdoms of the earth, That [are] on the face of the ground, And King Sheshach drinks after them.

ഉത്തരദേശത്ത് അടുത്തും അകലെയുമുള്ള എല്ലാ രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലലോകരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും കുടിപ്പിച്ചു; അവർക്കെല്ലാംശേഷം ശേശക്കുരാജാവും അതു കുടിക്കണം.

27 “And you have said to them, Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Drink, indeed drink abundantly, And vomit, and fall, and do not rise, Because of the sword that I am sending among you.

“നീ അവരോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയണം: ‘ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: കുടിക്കുക, മദോന്മത്തരായി ഛർദിക്കുക; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കുന്ന വാൾനിമിത്തം പിന്നീട് എഴുന്നേൽക്കാതിരിക്കുംവിധം വീഴുക.’

28 And it has come to pass, When they refuse to receive the cup out of your hand to drink, That you have said to them, Thus said YHWH of Hosts: You certainly drink.

എന്നാൽ അവർ നിന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു പാനപാത്രം വാങ്ങിക്കുടിക്കാൻ വിസമ്മതിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ നീ അവരോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയണം, ‘സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ ഇതു കുടിച്ചേ മതിയാവൂ!

29 For behold, in the city over which My Name is called, I am beginning to bring ruin, And are you entirely acquitted? You are not acquitted, for I am proclaiming a sword, For all inhabitants of the land,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.

ഇതാ, എന്റെ നാമം വഹിക്കുന്ന ഈ നഗരത്തിന്മേൽ ഞാൻ നാശം വരുത്താൻപോകുന്നു; പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ ശിക്ഷ കൂടാതെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുമോ? നിങ്ങൾ ശിക്ഷയിൽനിന്ന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ സകലഭൂവാസികളുടെമേലും ഒരു വാളിനെ അയയ്ക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.’

30 “And you, you prophesy all these words to them, and have said to them: YHWH roars from the high place, And gives forth His voice from His holy habitation, He surely roars for His habitation, A shout as those treading [the grapes], God answers all the inhabitants of the land,

“അതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അവർക്കെതിരായി ഈ വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും പ്രവചിച്ച് അവരോടു പറയുക: “‘യഹോവ ഉന്നതത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഗർജിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്നു തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനിവാസത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇടിമുഴക്കുകയും, തന്റെ ദേശത്തിനെതിരേ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ ഗർജിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു. മുന്തിരിച്ചക്കു ചവിട്ടുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ അവിടന്ന് അലറുന്നു, സകലഭൂവാസികളുടെയുംനേരേ അട്ടഹസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

31 A rumbling has come to the end of the earth, For YHWH has a controversy with nations, He has executed judgment for all flesh, He has given the wicked to the sword,” A declaration of YHWH.

യഹോവ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ കുറ്റം ആരോപിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ആരവം ഭൂമിയുടെ അതിരുകൾവരെയും പ്രതിധ്വനിക്കുന്നു, അവിടന്നു സകലമനുഷ്യരുടെമേലും ന്യായവിധി അയയ്ക്കുകയും ദുഷ്ടരെ വാളിന് ഏൽപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു,’” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

32 Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Behold, evil is going out from nation to nation, And a great whirlwind is stirred up from the sides of the earth.

സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഇതാ! അനർഥം രാഷ്ട്രത്തിൽനിന്നു രാഷ്ട്രത്തിലേക്ക് വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു. ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു വലിയ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് പൊട്ടിപ്പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.”

33 And the pierced of YHWH have been in that day, From the end of the earth even to the end of the earth, They are not lamented, nor gathered, nor buried, For they are dung on the face of the ground.

ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ യഹോവയാൽ സംഹരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഒരറ്റംമുതൽ മറ്റേ അറ്റംവരെ എല്ലായിടത്തും വീണുകിടക്കും. അവരെക്കുറിച്ച് ആരും വിലപിക്കുകയില്ല. അവരെ ശേഖരിക്കുകയോ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല, എന്നാൽ അവർ നിലത്തിനു വളം എന്നപോലെ ആയിത്തീരും.

34 Howl, you shepherds, and cry, And roll yourselves, you majestic of the flock, For your days have been full For slaughtering, and [for] your scatterings, And you have fallen as a desirable vessel.

ഇടയന്മാരേ, കരയുകയും വിലപിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക; ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന്റെ അധിപതികളേ, ചാരത്തിൽക്കിടന്ന് ഉരുളുക. കാരണം നിങ്ങളെ കശാപ്പുചെയ്ത് എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുന്ന ദിവസം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നല്ലൊരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ വീഴുംപോലെ നീയും വീഴും.

35 And refuge has perished from the shepherds, And escape from the majestic of the flock.

ഇടയന്മാർക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകാൻ വഴിയില്ലാതാകും, ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന്റെ നേതാക്കന്മാർക്കു രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ മാർഗമുണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.

36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, And a howling of the majestic of the flock, For YHWH is spoiling their pasture.

യഹോവ അവരുടെ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുന്നതിനാൽ ഇടയന്മാരുടെ നിലവിളിയും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന്റെ നേതാക്കന്മാരുടെ വിലാപവും കേൾക്കുക.

37 And the peaceable habitations have been cut down, Because of the fierceness of the anger of YHWH.

യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപംനിമിത്തം സമാധാനത്തോടിരുന്ന മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറങ്ങൾ വിജനമാക്കപ്പെടും.

38 He has forsaken His covert as a young lion, Surely their land has become a desolation, Because of the oppressing fierceness, And because of the fierceness of His anger!”

സിംഹക്കുട്ടി ഒളിവിടത്തുനിന്നു പുറത്തുവരുന്നതുപോലെ, അവരുടെ ദേശം വിജനമായിത്തീരും, പീഡകന്റെ വാൾകൊണ്ടും യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപംകൊണ്ടുംതന്നെ.
