< Jeremiah 17 >
1 “The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, With the point of a diamond, Engraved on the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars,
Judah kah tholhnah te thi cacung neh a daek coeng. Amih lungbuei cabael dongah khaw, na hmueihtuk ki dongah lungning hmui neh a tarhit coeng.
2 As their sons remember their altars and their Asherim, By the green tree, by the high hills.
A ca rhoek long pataeng a hmueihtuk neh mol sang thing hing taengkah te Asherah ni a ngaidam uh.
3 O My mountain in the field—your strength, All your treasures—I give for a prey, Your high places for sin in all your borders.
Na khorhi tom kah na tholhnah dongah ka khohmuen tlang kah na khuehtawn neh na thakvoh dongkah boeih khaw na hmuensang ah maeh la ka mop ni.
4 And you have let go—even through yourself, Of your inheritance that I gave to you, And I have caused you to serve your enemies, In a land that you have not known, For you have kindled a fire in My anger, It burns for all time.”
Nang taengah kam paek na rho te namah dongah ni na soek eh. Ming pawt khohmuen kah na thunkha rhoek taengah nang te kan thohtat sak ni. Hmai na hlae te ka thintoek ah kumhal duela ung ni.
5 Thus said YHWH: “Cursed [is] the man who trusts in man, And has made flesh his arm, And whose heart turns from YHWH.
BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Hlang dongah aka pangtung neh a ban saa aka khueh tih BOEIPA taeng lamloh a lungbuei aka phaelh hlang te thae a phoei thil coeng.
6 And he has been as a naked thing in a desert, And does not see when good comes, And has inhabited parched places in a wilderness, A salt land, and not inhabited.
Te dongah kolken kah thingkoh bangla om vetih a then ha pawk vaengah hmu mahpawh. Lungkaehlai kho kah khosoek khohaeng ah om vetih khosa mahpawh.
7 Blessed [is] the man who trusts in YHWH, And whose confidence has been YHWH.
BOEIPA dongah aka pangtung hlang tah a yoethen tih BOEIPA khaw anih kah pangtungnah la om.
8 And has been as a tree planted by waters, And he sends forth his roots by a stream, And he does not see when heat comes, And his leaf has been green, And he is not sorrowful in a year of scarcity, Nor does he cease from making fruit.
Tui taengkah a phung thing bangla om vetih a yung te sok taengla a hlak dongah rhih pawh. Kholing a pai vaengah a hmuh akhaw a hnah hingsuep la om tih khokang kum ah khaw mawn pawh. A thaih aka cuen te hul pawh.
9 The heart [is] deceitful above all things, And it [is] incurable—who knows it?
A cungkuem soah lungbuei loh cangngok tih rhawp coeng. Te te unim aka ming?
10 I, YHWH, search the heart, try the reins, Even to give to each according to his way, According to the fruit of his doings.
Lungbuei aka khe BOEIPA kamah loh a kuel khaw ka loepdak tih hlang taengah a longpuei te a longpuei tarhing ah, a khoboe te a thaih tarhing ah ka paek.
11 A partridge hatching, and not bringing forth, [Is] one making wealth, and not by right, In the midst of his days he forsakes it, And in his latter end—he is a fool.”
Varhung ni a duei pawt khaw a oii. A tiktam pawt neh khuehtawn aka dang khaw a khohnin te khohnin loengboeng vaengah a tlo-oeng pah vetih a hmailong ah aka ang la poeh ni.
12 A throne of glory on high from the beginning, The place of our sanctuary,
Hmuensang kah thangpomnah ngolkhoel tah mah rhokso hmuen lamhma lamkah ni.
13 The hope of Israel [is] YHWH, All forsaking You are ashamed. “And My apostates are written in the earth, For they have forsaken YHWH, A fountain of living waters.”
Israel kah ngaiuepnah BOEIPA nang aka hnoo boeih tah yak uh ni. Kai lamloh khoe uh tih kai lamloh aka rhoe uh tah hingnah BOEIPA thunsih tui te a hnoo uh dongah diklai ah ni a tae uh eh.
14 Heal me, O YHWH, and I am healed, Save me, and I am saved, For You [are] my praise.
BOEIPA kai n'hoeih sak lamtah ka hoeih bitni. Kai n'khang lamtah nang kan koehnah ham ni ka daem eh.
15 Behold, they are saying to me: “Where [is] the word of YHWH? Pray, let it come.”
Amih loh kai taengah tah, “BOEIPA ol te maelae? ha pai laeh mako?” a ti uh ke.
16 And I did not hurry from feeding after You, And I have not desired the desperate day, You have known the produce of my lips, It has been before Your face,
Tedae kai na hnuk aka dawn lamloh ka nong pawt dongah a rhawp khohnin khaw ka hue moenih. Na ming vanbangla ka hmuilai kah aka thoeng he na mikhmuh ah om ta.
17 Do not be to me for a terror, You [are] my hope in a day of calamity.
Kai ham he porhaknah la na om pawt dongah yoethae hnin ah ka hlipyingnah la na om.
18 Let my pursuers be ashamed, And do not let me be ashamed—me! Let them be frightened, And do not let me be frightened—me! Bring in on them a day of calamity, And destroy them a second time [with] destruction.
Kai aka hloem rhoek te yahpok saeh lamtah kai n'yah sak boel saeh. Amih te rhihyawp uh saeh lamtah kai n'rhihyawp sak boel saeh. Yoethae khohnin te amih soah pai sak lamtah khaemnah rhaepnit loh amih te khaem sak saeh.
19 Thus said YHWH to me: “Go, and you have stood in the gate of the sons of the people, by which kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all gates of Jerusalem,
BOEIPA loh kai taengah he ni a thui. Cet lamtah pilnam koca kah vongka neh Jerusalem vongka tom ah pai lah. Te lamlonh ni pilnam te a kun tih Judah manghai rhoek khaw te lamlong ni a coe.
20 and you have said to them: Hear a word of YHWH, you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, who are coming in by these gates,”
Te dongah amih te, 'Te vongka lamloh aka thoeng Judah manghai rhoek neh Judah pum boeih, Jerusalem kah khosa rhoek boeih loh BOEIPA ol te hnatun uh,’ ti nah.
21 Thus said YHWH: “Take heed to yourselves, And you do not bear a burden on the day of rest, Nor have you brought [it] in by the gates of Jerusalem.
BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Sabbath hnin ah hnorhih na phueih tih Jerusalem vongka ah na khuen pawt ham na sal rhoek te ngaithuen uh.
22 Nor do you take out a burden from your houses on the day of rest, Indeed, you do not do any work, And you have sanctified the day of rest, As I have commanded your fathers.
Sabbath hnin ah na im kah hnorhih khuen uh boeh. Bitat pakhat khaw saii uh boeh. Tedae na pa rhoek ka uen bangla Sabbath hnin te ciim uh.
23 And they have not listened nor inclined their ear, And they stiffen their neck not to hear, And not to receive instruction.
Tedae hnatun uh pawt tih a hna a kaeng uh moenih. A rhawn a mangkhak neh a hnatun uh pawt bueng kolla thuituennah khaw doe uh pawh.
24 And it has been, if you certainly listen to Me,” A declaration of YHWH, “So as not to bring in a burden by the gates of this city on the day of rest, And to sanctify the day of rest, So as not to do any work in it—
He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Kai ol he na hnatun la na hnatun atah Sabbath hnin ah he khopuei vongka longah hnorhih na pawk puei mahpawh. Sabbath hnin te ciim ham amah te vaengah bi pakhat khaw na saii mahpawh.
25 Then kings and princes have entered by the gates of this city, Sitting on the throne of David, Riding in a chariot, and on horses, They, and their princes, the man of Judah, And inhabitants of Jerusalem, And this city has remained for all time.
Te vaengah David kah ngolkhoel dongah aka ngol manghai rhoek neh mangpa rhoek, leng dong neh a marhang dongah aka ngol rhoek, Judah hlang kah mangpa rhoek neh Jerusalem kah khosa rhoek tah he khopuei vongka longah kun uh ni. Te vaengah he khopuei he kumhal duela pai ni.
26 And they have come in from cities of Judah, And from outskirts of Jerusalem, And from the land of Benjamin, And from the low country, And from the hill-country, And from the south, Bringing in burnt-offering, and sacrifice, And present, and frankincense, And bringing praise [to] the house of YHWH.
Te vaengah Judah khopuei rhoek lamkah khaw, Jerusalem kaepvai lamkah khaw, Benjamin khohmuen lamkah khaw, kolrhawk lamkah khaw, tlang lamkah khaw, tuithim lamkah khaw, ha pawk uh vetih hmueihhlutnah neh hmueih khaw, khocang neh hmueihtui khaw, BOEIPA im kah uemonah la a khuen uh ni.
27 And if you do not listen to Me to sanctify the day of rest, And so as not to bear a burden, And to come in at the gates of Jerusalem on the day of rest, Then I have kindled a fire in its gates, And it has consumed the high places of Jerusalem, And it is not quenched!”
Tedae Sabbath hnin te ciim ham, hnorhih phueih pawt ham, Sabbath hnin ah Jerusalem vongka longah ael pawt ham kai ol he na hnatun uh pawt atah, a vongka te hmai ka hlup thil ni. Te vaengah Jerusalem kah impuei te a hlawp vetih thi voel mahpawh.
