Jeremiah 17
1 “The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, With the point of a diamond, Engraved on the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars,
১“যিহূদার পাপ লোহার লেখনী ও হীরের বিন্দু দিয়ে লেখা হয়েছে। এটা তাদের অন্তরের ফলকে ও তোমার বেদির শিংয়ের উপরে খোদাই করা হয়েছে।
2 As their sons remember their altars and their Asherim, By the green tree, by the high hills.
২পাতা ভর্তি গাছের পাশে উঁচু পাহাড়ের উপরে তাদের লোকেরা তাদের বেদীগুলিকে এবং তাদের আশেরা খুঁটিগুলিকে স্মরণ করে।
3 O My mountain in the field—your strength, All your treasures—I give for a prey, Your high places for sin in all your borders.
৩তারা গ্রামাঞ্চলের পর্বতের উপরের বেদীগুলি স্মরণ করে। আমি তোমার সম্পদ এবং তোমার সমস্ত ধনদৌলত লুটের জিনিসের মত দিয়ে দেব। কারণ তোমার পাপ তোমার সমস্ত সীমানার প্রত্যেক জায়গায় আছে।
4 And you have let go—even through yourself, Of your inheritance that I gave to you, And I have caused you to serve your enemies, In a land that you have not known, For you have kindled a fire in My anger, It burns for all time.”
৪আমি তোমাকে যে অধিকার দিয়েছিলাম, তা তুমি হারাবে। যে দেশের কথা তুমি জান না, সেখানে আমি তোমাকে তোমার শত্রুদের দাস বানাবো, কারণ তুমি আমার রোষের আগুন জ্বালিয়েছ, যা চিরকাল জ্বলবে।”
5 Thus said YHWH: “Cursed [is] the man who trusts in man, And has made flesh his arm, And whose heart turns from YHWH.
৫সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “যে ব্যক্তি মানুষের উপর ভরসা করে সে অভিশপ্ত; সে মাংসকে তার শক্তি বানায়, কিন্তু তার অন্তর সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে সরে গেছে।
6 And he has been as a naked thing in a desert, And does not see when good comes, And has inhabited parched places in a wilderness, A salt land, and not inhabited.
৬কারণ সে আরবের ঝোপের মত হবে এবং ভাল কিছু আসলে তা দেখতে পাবে না। মরুপ্রান্তের পাথুরে এলাকায় সে বাস করবে, জনবসতিহীন অনুর্বর জমি।
7 Blessed [is] the man who trusts in YHWH, And whose confidence has been YHWH.
৭কিন্তু সেই লোক ধন্য, যে সদাপ্রভুর উপর নির্ভর করে, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তার বিশ্বাসের ভিত্তি।
8 And has been as a tree planted by waters, And he sends forth his roots by a stream, And he does not see when heat comes, And his leaf has been green, And he is not sorrowful in a year of scarcity, Nor does he cease from making fruit.
৮কারণ সে জলের স্রোতের ধারে লাগানো গাছের মত; তার শিকড় ছড়িয়ে দেবে। গরম আসলে সে ভয় পাবে না; কারণ তার পাতা সব দিন সবুজ থাকবে। খরার বছরে সে চিন্তিত হবে না, তার ফল উত্পাদন কখনও বন্ধ হয় না।
9 The heart [is] deceitful above all things, And it [is] incurable—who knows it?
৯সমস্ত কিছুর থেকে হৃদয় আরো বেশি প্রতারক। এটা পীড়িত, কে এটা বুঝতে পারে?
10 I, YHWH, search the heart, try the reins, Even to give to each according to his way, According to the fruit of his doings.
১০আমি সদাপ্রভু, সেই একজন যে মন খুঁজে দেখে, যে অন্তরের পরীক্ষা করে। আমি প্রত্যেকের প্রাপ্য তাকে দিই, তার কাজের ফল অনুসারে শাস্তি দিই।
11 A partridge hatching, and not bringing forth, [Is] one making wealth, and not by right, In the midst of his days he forsakes it, And in his latter end—he is a fool.”
১১একটি তিতির পাখী একটি ডিমে তা দিয়ে বাচ্চা ফোঁটায়, যে ডিমটি তার নিজের নয়। কোন একজন অসৎ উপায়ে ধনী হয়; কিন্তু তার জীবনের মাঝামাঝি দিনের, সেই ধনসম্পদ তাকে ছেড়ে চলে যাবে; আর শেষে সে বোকা হয়ে যাবে।”
12 A throne of glory on high from the beginning, The place of our sanctuary,
১২আমাদের মন্দিরের জায়গা একটি মহিমান্বিত সিংহাসন, যা আদি থেকেই উন্নত।
13 The hope of Israel [is] YHWH, All forsaking You are ashamed. “And My apostates are written in the earth, For they have forsaken YHWH, A fountain of living waters.”
১৩সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলের আশা। যারা তোমাকে ত্যাগ করেছে তারা লজ্জিত হবে; এই দেশে তোমার কাছ থেকে যারা ফিরে গেছে, তাদের নাম ধূলোয় লেখা হবে। কারণ তারা জীবন্ত জলের উনুই সদাপ্রভুকে ত্যাগ করেছে।
14 Heal me, O YHWH, and I am healed, Save me, and I am saved, For You [are] my praise.
১৪হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাকে সুস্থ কর এবং তাতে আমি সুস্থ হব! আমাকে উদ্ধার কর এবং আমি উদ্ধার পাব। কারণ তুমিই আমার প্রশংসার গান।
15 Behold, they are saying to me: “Where [is] the word of YHWH? Pray, let it come.”
১৫দেখ, তারা আমাকে বলে, “সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য কোথায়? তা এবার উপস্থিত হোক।”
16 And I did not hurry from feeding after You, And I have not desired the desperate day, You have known the produce of my lips, It has been before Your face,
১৬আমি তো তোমার অনুগামী পালক হওয়া থেকে পালিয়ে যাই নি। আমি বিপদের দিন চাইনি। আমার মুখ থেকে যে ঘোষণা বেরত তা তুমি জানো। সেগুলি তোমার উপস্থিতিতেই করা হয়েছিল।
17 Do not be to me for a terror, You [are] my hope in a day of calamity.
১৭আমার কাছে আতঙ্ক হোয়ো না। বিপদের দিনের তুমিই আমার আশ্রয়।
18 Let my pursuers be ashamed, And do not let me be ashamed—me! Let them be frightened, And do not let me be frightened—me! Bring in on them a day of calamity, And destroy them a second time [with] destruction.
১৮আমার তাড়নাকারীরা লজ্জিত হোক, কিন্তু তুমি আমাকে লজ্জিত কোরো না। তারা আতঙ্কিত হোক, কিন্তু আমাকে আতঙ্কিত কোরো না। তাদের বিরুদ্ধে দুর্যোগের দিন পাঠাও এবং দুই গুণ ধ্বংস দিয়ে তাদের বিনষ্ট কর।
19 Thus said YHWH to me: “Go, and you have stood in the gate of the sons of the people, by which kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all gates of Jerusalem,
১৯সদাপ্রভু আমাকে এই কথা বললেন, “যাও এবং যিহূদার রাজারা যে ফটক দিয়ে যাওয়া আসা করে, জনসাধারণের সেই ফটকে, যিরূশালেমের অন্যান্য সব ফটকেও গিয়ে দাঁড়াও।
20 and you have said to them: Hear a word of YHWH, you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, who are coming in by these gates,”
২০তাদের বল, ‘যিহূদার রাজারা এবং যিহূদার সমস্ত লোকেরা এবং যিরূশালেমে বাসকারী সবাই, যারা এই সব ফটক দিয়ে ভিতরে আস, তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শোনো।
21 Thus said YHWH: “Take heed to yourselves, And you do not bear a burden on the day of rest, Nor have you brought [it] in by the gates of Jerusalem.
২১সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, তোমাদের, সাবধান হও; বিশ্রামবারে কোন বোঝা বইবে না, অথবা যিরূশালেমের ফটক দিয়ে তা ভিতরে আনবে না।
22 Nor do you take out a burden from your houses on the day of rest, Indeed, you do not do any work, And you have sanctified the day of rest, As I have commanded your fathers.
২২বিশ্রামবারে তোমাদের বাড়ি থেকে কোন বোঝা বের করে আনবে না। তাই কোন কাজ কোরো না, কিন্তু বিশ্রামবার আমার উদ্দেশ্যে পবিত্র করো, যেমন আমি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের আদেশ করেছিলাম।
23 And they have not listened nor inclined their ear, And they stiffen their neck not to hear, And not to receive instruction.
২৩তারা শোনেনি, মনোযোগও দেয়নি। কিন্তু তাদের ঘাড় শক্ত করেছিল; তাই তারা আমার কথা শোনেনি ও আমার শাসন গ্রহণ করে নি।’
24 And it has been, if you certainly listen to Me,” A declaration of YHWH, “So as not to bring in a burden by the gates of this city on the day of rest, And to sanctify the day of rest, So as not to do any work in it—
২৪এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, ‘এটা ঘটবে, যদি তোমরা সত্যিই আমার কথা শোনো এবং বিশ্রামবারে শহরের ফটক দিয়ে কোন বোঝা না আন, কিন্তু পরিবর্তে বিশ্রামবারকে পবিত্র করো এবং কোন কাজ না করো,
25 Then kings and princes have entered by the gates of this city, Sitting on the throne of David, Riding in a chariot, and on horses, They, and their princes, the man of Judah, And inhabitants of Jerusalem, And this city has remained for all time.
২৫তাহলে রাজারা, রাজকর্মচারীরা এবং তারা যারা দায়ূদের সিংহাসনে বসে, তারা, তাদের নেতারা, যিহূদার লোকেরা ও যিরূশালেমের বাসিন্দারা রথে ও ঘোড়ায় চড়ে শহরের ফটক দিয়ে আসবে। এই শহর চিরকাল থাকবে।
26 And they have come in from cities of Judah, And from outskirts of Jerusalem, And from the land of Benjamin, And from the low country, And from the hill-country, And from the south, Bringing in burnt-offering, and sacrifice, And present, and frankincense, And bringing praise [to] the house of YHWH.
২৬যিহূদার শহরগুলো ও যিরূশালেমের চারিদিক থেকে বিন্যামীন এলাকা, নীচু এলাকা, পার্বত্য এলাকা, দক্ষিণে দেশ থেকে থেকে লোকেরা আমার গৃহে উপহার, বলিদান, ভক্ষ্য নৈবেদ্য, ধূপ নিয়ে আসবে। তারা ধন্যবাদের উপহার উৎসর্গ করবে।
27 And if you do not listen to Me to sanctify the day of rest, And so as not to bear a burden, And to come in at the gates of Jerusalem on the day of rest, Then I have kindled a fire in its gates, And it has consumed the high places of Jerusalem, And it is not quenched!”
২৭কিন্তু যদি তোমরা বিশ্রামবার আমার উদ্দেশ্যে পবিত্র করতে আমার কথা না শোন, যদি তোমরা বিশ্রামবারে বোঝা নিয়ে যিরূশালেমের ফটকের মধ্যে দিয়ে নিয়ে আসো, তবে আমি সমস্ত ফটকে আগুন জ্বালাব, যে আগুন যিরূশালেমের দুর্গগুলি পুড়িয়ে ফেলবে এবং যেটা নিভবে না’।”
