Jeremiah 14
1 That which has been the word of YHWH to Jeremiah concerning the matters of the scarcities:
೧ಬರಗಾಲದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ನುಡಿ:
2 “Judah has mourned, and her gates have languished, They have mourned to the earth, And the cry of Jerusalem has gone up.
೨ಯೆಹೂದವು ದುಃಖಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಜನರು ಕಂಗೆಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ರಗಾಗಿ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರ ಗೋಳಾಟವು ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
3 And their majestic ones have sent their little ones to the water, They have come to ditches, They have not found water, They have turned back—their vessels empty! They have been ashamed, And have blushed and covered their head.
೩ಅವರಲ್ಲಿನ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿನವರನ್ನು ನೀರು ತರಲು ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಕೊಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ನೀರು ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬರೀ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆಶೆಗೆಟ್ಟು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಟ್ಟು ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
4 Because the ground has been broken, For there has been no rain in the land, Farmers have been ashamed, They have covered their head.
೪ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಬಿರುಕುಬಿಟ್ಟಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ರೈತರು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಟ್ಟು ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
5 For even the doe in the field has brought forth—to forsake [it!] For there has been no grass.
೫ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಜಿಂಕೆಯು ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈದು, ಹುಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ತನ್ನ ಮರಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ.
6 And wild donkeys have stood on high places, They have swallowed up wind like dragons, Their eyes have been consumed, for there is no herb.”
೬ಕಾಡುಕತ್ತೆಗಳು ಬೋಳುಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ನರಿಗಳಂತೆ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರುಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾರೈಸುತ್ತವೆ, ಸೊಪ್ಪುಸದೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕಂಗೆಡುತ್ತವೆ.
7 Surely our iniquities have testified against us, O YHWH, work for Your Name’s sake, For our backslidings have been many, We have sinned against You.
೭ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸು. ನಮ್ಮ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳು ಬಹಳ, ನಿನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
8 O Hope of Israel—its Savior in time of trouble, Why are You as a sojourner in the land? And as a traveler turned aside to lodge?
೮ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೇ, ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಕನೇ, ಏಕೆ ಸ್ವದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರದೇಶಿಯಂತೆಯೂ, ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಗುಡಾರಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕನ ಹಾಗೂ ಇದ್ದೀ?
9 Why are You as one mute? As a mighty one not able to save? And You [are] in our midst, O YHWH, And Your Name is called over us, Do not leave us.
೯ಏಕೆ ಸ್ತಬ್ಧನಂತೆಯೂ, ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾರದ ಶೂರನ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದೀ? ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತಿ. ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನವರು, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡಬೇಡ.
10 Thus said YHWH concerning this people: “They have loved to wander well, They have not restrained their feet, And YHWH has not accepted them, Now He remembers their iniquity, And inspects their sin.”
೧೦ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು, “ಇವರು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಲೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕಾಲನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆಗೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನಾನು ಇವರನ್ನು ಕಟಾಕ್ಷಿಸೆನು; ಈಗಲೇ ಇವರ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಇವರ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೆ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
11 And YHWH says to me: “You do not pray for this people for good.
೧೧ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ಈ ಜನರ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ಇವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
12 When they fast, I do not listen to their cry, and when they cause burnt-offering and present to ascend, I do not accept them; for I am consuming them by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence.”
೧೨ಇವರು ಉಪವಾಸಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಇವರ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳೆನು. ಹೋಮನೈವೇದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸೆನು. ಖಡ್ಗ, ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಧಿಗಳಿಂದ ಇವರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 And I say, “Aah! Lord YHWH, behold, the prophets are saying to them: You do not see a sword, indeed, famine is not [on] you, for I give true peace to you in this place.”
೧೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು, “ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಇಗೋ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ, ‘ಖಡ್ಗವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಾಣದು, ಕ್ಷಾಮವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸದು; ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವನು ಎಂದು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ’” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.
14 And YHWH says to me: “The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My Name. I did not send them, nor command them, nor have I spoken to them. A false vision, and divination, and vanity—indeed, they are prophesying the deceit of their own heart to you.
೧೪ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನುಡಿದನು, “ಈ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಏನೂ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಸುಳ್ಳಾದ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನೂ, ಕಣಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಮಾಯಾತಂತ್ರವನ್ನೂ, ಸ್ವಕಲ್ಪಿತ ಮೋಸವನ್ನೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
15 Therefore, thus said YHWH concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My Name and I have not sent them, and they are saying, Sword and famine is not in this land: By sword and by famine are these prophets consumed.
೧೫ಆದಕಾರಣ ನನ್ನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಖಡ್ಗವೂ, ಕ್ಷಾಮವೂ ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರವು ಎಂದು ಬೋಧಿಸುವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನಾನು, ‘ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದಲೂ, ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಈ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲರಾಗುವರು’” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
16 And the people to whom they are prophesying are cast into out-places of Jerusalem, because of the famine and the sword, and they have none burying them—them, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters—and I have poured out their evil on them.
೧೬ಮತ್ತು ಇವರ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವ ಜನರು ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ಖಡ್ಗಗಳ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವರು; ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಹೂಣಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಾನು ಅವರ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನೇ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಯ್ದುಬಿಡುವೆನು.
17 And you have said this word to them: Tears come down my eyes night and day, And they do not cease, For [with] a great breach, The virgin daughter of my people has been broken, A very grievous stroke.
೧೭ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣೀರು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ನಿರಂತರ ಸುರಿಯಲಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನವೆಂಬ ಯುವತಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಾಯವಾಯಿತು, ಹೌದು ಗಡುಸಾದ ಪೆಟ್ಟು ಬಿತ್ತು.
18 If I have gone forth to the field, Then, behold, the pierced of the sword! And if I have entered the city, Then, behold, the diseased of famine! For both prophet and priest have gone up and down To a land that they did not know.”
೧೮ನಾನು ಊರ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಹತರಾದವರು, ಊರೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದ ಕೊರಗುವವರು! ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಯಾಜಕರೂ ತಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಗಡೀಪಾರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳು” ಎಂದನು.
19 Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You struck us, And there is no healing to us? Looking for peace, and there is no good, And for a time of healing, and behold, terror.
೧೯ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀಯೋ? ಚೀಯೋನನ್ನು ಮನಃಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಿಯೋ? ನಮಗೆ ಗುಣವಾಗದಂತೆ ಏಕೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಹೊಡೆದಿ? ಸುಖವನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆವು, ಯಾವ ಮೇಲೂ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಕ್ಷೇಮ ಕಾಲವನ್ನೂ ಎದುರುನೋಡಿದೆವು, ಹಾ, ಅಂಜಿಕೆಯೇ!
20 We have known, O YHWH, our wickedness, The iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You.
೨೦ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದುರಾಚಾರವನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ನಾವು ನಿನಗೇ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
21 Do not despise, for Your Name’s sake, Do not dishonor the throne of Your glory, Remember, do not break Your covenant with us.
೨೧ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸಬೇಡ; ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದುಕೋ, ಅದನ್ನು ಭಂಗಪಡಿಸದಿರು.
22 Are there any among the vanities of the nations causing rain? And do the heavens give showers? Are You not He, O our God YHWH? And we wait for you, for You have done all these!
೨೨ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸಬಲ್ಲವುಗಳುಂಟೇ? ಆಕಾಶವು ತಾನಾಗಿ ಹದಮಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟೀತೇ? ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನೀನೇ ವೃಷ್ಟಿಪ್ರದನು; ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೇ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವೆವು. ನೀನು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯಷ್ಟೆ.
