< Jeremiah 1 >
1 Words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, of the priests who [are] in Anathoth, in the land of Benjamin,
Benjamin ram Anathoth e vaihma Hilkiah capa Jeremiah e lawk,
2 to whom the word of YHWH has been in the days of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,

3 and it is in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the completion of the eleventh year of Zedekiah son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the expulsion of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
Judah siangpahrang Josiah capa Jehoiakim a bawi navah, Judah siangpahrang Josiah capa Zedekiah a bawinae kum hrahlaibun abaw totouh hoi Jerusalem san la a ceikhainae thapa yung panganae totouh hai lawk te a pha.
4 And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,
Hottelah BAWIPA e lawk teh kai koe a pha teh,
5 “Before I form you in the belly, I have known you; and before you come forth from the womb I have separated you; I have made you a prophet to the nations.”
Von thung na sak hoehnahlan patenghai na panue toe. Camoim dawk hoi na tâco hoehnahlan patenghai na thoung sak teh, miphun naw koe profet lah o hane na cak sak toe, telah a ti.
6 And I say, “Aah! Lord YHWH! Behold, I have not known—to speak, for I [am] a youth.”
Kai ni aya! Bawipa Jehovah khenhaw! lawk ka dei thai mahoeh, bangkongtetpawiteh, ka nawca rah telah ka ti.
7 And YHWH says to me, “Do not say, I [am] a youth, for to all to whom I send you—go, and all that I command you—speak.
Hateiteh BAWIPA ni kai koevah, kanawca rah tet hanh, bangkongtetpawiteh, na patoun e pueng koe na cei vaiteh, kâ na poe e pueng hah na dei han.
8 Do not be afraid of their faces, for I [am] with you to deliver you,” a declaration of YHWH.
Ahnimanaw e minhmai hah, taket hanh, bangkongtetpawiteh, nang na rungngang hanelah, nang koe kai ka o telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
9 And YHWH puts forth His hand, and strikes against my mouth, and YHWH says to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
Hottelah, BAWIPA ni a kut a pho teh, ka pahni hah a tek. BAWIPA ni kai koe khenhaw! na kâko dawk ka lawk teh, ka hruek toe.
10 See, I have charged you this day concerning the nations, and concerning the kingdoms, to pluck up, and to break down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.”
Khenhaw! miphunnaw hoi siangpahrang uknaeram thung vah, phawk vaiteh, rawp sak han, raphoe vaiteh tâkhawng han, kangdue sak vaiteh ung hanelah, sahnin totouh hoi kai ni na rawi toe telah a ti.
11 And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying, “What are you seeing, Jeremiah?” And I say, “I am seeing a rod of an almond tree.”
Hahoi BAWIPA e lawk teh kai koe a pha teh, Jeremiah bangmaw na hmu telah ati. Kai ni, Almond thing kang ka hmu, telah ka ti.
12 And YHWH says to me, “You have seen well: for I am watching over My word to do it.”
BAWIPA ni kai koe vah na hmu e teh ahawi, bangkongtetpawiteh, ka lawk teh, sak hanelah coungkacoe ka o telah a ti.
13 And there is a word of YHWH to me a second time, saying, “What are you seeing?” And I say, “I am seeing a blown pot, and its face [is] from the north.”
BAWIPA lawk teh apâhni e kai koe a phateh, bangmaw na hmu telah ati. Kai ni ka tangdawk e hlaam, atung lah kangvawi e hah ka hmu, telah ka ti.
14 And YHWH says to me, “From the north the evil is loosed against all inhabitants of the land.
BAWIPA ni kai koevah, ram thung e kaawmnaw pueng hanelah, atunglah hoi rawknae a pha han.
15 For behold, I am calling for all families of the kingdoms of the north,” a declaration of YHWH, “And they have come, and each put his throne at the opening of the gates of Jerusalem, and by its walls all around, and by all cities of Judah.
Khenhaw! atunglae uknaeram imthungnaw pueng hah, ka kaw han telah BAWIPA ni a dei. A tho awh vaiteh, Jerusalem kâennae longkha atengpam kalupnae tapangnaw pueng hoi Judah khopuinaw pueng dawk a bawitungkhung hah a hruek han.
16 And I have spoken My judgments with them concerning all their evil, in that they have forsaken Me, and make incense to other gods, and bow themselves to the works of their own hands.
Kai na pahnawt awh teh, cathut alouke koe hmuitui hmai a sawi awh te, amamae kut hoi a sak awh e hah, a bawk awh dawkvah, amamae yonnae a lathueng vah, kaie lawkcengnae ka pâpho han.
17 And you, you gird up your loins, and have arisen, and spoken to them all that I command you: do not be frightened because of them, lest I frighten you before them.
Hatdawkvah, coungkacoe awm nateh thaw, kâ na poe e naw pueng hah, ahnimouh koe dei. Ahnimae hmalah takinae tawn hanh telah nahoeh pawiteh, ahnimae hmalah takinae hoi na o sak han.
18 And I, behold, have given you this day for a fortified city, and for an iron pillar, and for bronze walls over all the land, to the kings of Judah, to its heads, to its priests, and to the people of the land;
Khenhaw! sahnin e a hnin dawk, hete ram pueng hoi, Judah Siangpahrang hoi, kahrawikungnaw hoi, vaihmanaw hoi, hote ramnaw thung e rapan ka tawn e khopuinaw hoi, sumkhom hoi, rahumtapang lah na sak toe.
19 and they have fought against you, and they do not prevail against you; for I [am] with you,” a declaration of YHWH, “to deliver you.”
Nang teh na tuk awh han, hatei na tâ awh mahoeh, bangkongtetpawiteh, nang rungngang hanelah nang koe ka o, telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
