< Isaiah 9 >

1 For [there will be] no gloom on her who [is] distressed as at the former time. The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, So the latter has honored the way of the sea, Beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
Naye tewaliba kizikiza eri oyo eyali mu kubonaabona. Edda yatoowaza ensi ya Zebbulooni n’ensi ya Nafutaali, naye mu kiseera ekijja aliwa Ggaliraaya ekitiibwa, ensi ey’abamawanga emitala wa Yoludaani, awali ekkubo erigenda ku nnyanja.
2 The people who are walking in darkness Have seen a great light, Dwellers in a land of death-shade, Light has shone on them.
Abantu abaatambuliranga mu kizikiza balabye ekitangaala eky’amaanyi, abo abaatuulanga mu nsi ey’ekizikiza ekingi, omusana gubaakidde.
3 You have multiplied the nation, You have made its joy great, They have rejoiced before You as the joy in harvest, As [men] rejoice in their apportioning spoil.
Oyazizza eggwanga, obongedde essanyu, basanyukira mu maaso go ng’abantu bwe basanyuka mu biseera eby’amakungula, ng’abasajja bwe basanyuka nga bagabana omunyago.
4 Because the yoke of its burden, And the staff of its shoulder, the rod of its exactor, You have broken as [in] the day of Midian.
Nga ku lunaku Abamidiyaani lwe baawangulwa, omenye ekikoligo ekyamuzitoowereranga, n’ekiti eky’oku kibegabega kye, n’oluga lw’oyo amunyigiriza.
5 For every battle of a warrior [is] with rushing, and raiment rolled in blood, And it has been for burning—fuel of fire.
Kubanga buli ngatto ya mulwanyi ekozesebwa mu lutalo na buli kyambalo ekibunye omusaayi, biriba bya kwokebwa, bye birikozesebwa okukoleeza omuliro.
6 For a Child has been born to us, A Son has been given to us, And the dominion is on His shoulder, And He calls His Name Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
Kubanga omwana atuzaaliddwa ffe, omwana owoobulenzi atuweereddwa ffe, n’okufuga kunaabanga ku bibegabega bye. N’erinnya lye aliyitibwa nti, Wa kitalo, Omuwi w’amagezi, Katonda Ayinzabyonna, Kitaffe ow’Emirembe Gyonna, Omulangira w’Emirembe.
7 Of the increase of [His] dominion, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on His kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, From now on, even for all time, The zeal of YHWH of Hosts does this.
Okufuga kwe n’emirembe biryeyongeranga obutakoma. Alifugira ku ntebe ya Dawudi ne ku bwakabaka bwe, n’okubuwanirira n’obwenkanya n’obutuukirivu okuva leero okutuusa emirembe gyonna. Obumalirivu bwa Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye bulikituukiriza ekyo.
8 The Lord has sent a word into Jacob, And it has fallen in Israel.
Mukama yaweereza obubaka obukwata ku Yakobo, ku birituuka ku Isirayiri.
9 And the people have known—all of it, Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, In pride and in greatness of heart, saying,
Era abantu bonna balibumanya, Efulayimu n’abantu b’omu Samaliya aboogera n’amalala n’omutima omukakanyavu,
10 “Bricks have fallen, and we build hewn work, Sycamores have been cut down, and we renew cedars.”
nti, “Amatoffaali gagudde wansi naye tulizimbya amayinja amateme, emisukamooli gitemeddwawo naye tulizzaawo emivule.”
11 And YHWH sets the adversaries of Rezin on high above him, And he joins his enemies together,
Mukama Katonda kyaliva awa abalabe ba Lezini amaanyi bamulumbe; alibakumaakuma bamulumbe.
12 Aram from before, and Philistia from behind, And they devour Israel with the whole mouth. With all this His anger has not turned back, And His hand is still stretched out.
Abasuuli balisinziira mu buvanjuba, n’Abafirisuuti bave ebugwanjuba, balyoke basaanyeewo Isirayiri n’akamwa akaasamye. Newaakubadde nga biri bityo, obusungu bwa Mukama buliba tebunnavaawo era omukono gwe guliba gukyagoloddwa.
13 And the people has not turned back to Him who is striking it, And they have not sought YHWH of Hosts.
Kubanga abantu tebakyuse kudda wadde okunoonya Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye eyabakuba.
14 And YHWH cuts off head and tail from Israel, Branch and reed—the same day.
Bw’atyo Mukama Katonda kyaliva asala ku Isirayiri, omutwe n’omukira, ettabi n’olukindu mu lunaku lumu.
15 Elderly and accepted of faces—he [is] the head, And prophet teaching falsehood—he [is] the tail.
Omutwe be bakadde n’abantu ab’ekitiibwa, n’omukira be bannabbi abayigiriza eby’obulimba.
16 And the eulogists of this people are causing to err, And its eulogized ones are consumed.
Kubanga abakulembera abantu bano bababuzaabuuza, n’abo abakulemberwa babuzibwabuzibwa.
17 Therefore, the Lord does not rejoice over its young men, And He does not pity its orphans and its widows, For everyone [is] profane, and an evildoer, And every mouth is speaking folly. With all this His anger has not turned back, And His hand is still stretched out.
Noolwekyo, Mukama tajja kusanyukira bavubuka, wadde okukwatirwa ekisa abo abataliiko ba kitaabwe wadde bannamwandu; kubanga buli omu mukozi wa bibi, era buli kamwa konna kogera eby’obuwemu. Olwa bino byonna, obusungu bwa Mukama tebunakyusibwa kubavaako, era omukono gwe gukyagoloddwa.
18 For wickedness has burned as a fire, It devours brier and thorn, And it kindles in thickets of the forest, And they lift themselves up, an exaltation of smoke!
Ddala ekibi kyokya ng’omuliro; gumalawo emyeramannyo n’obusaana. Era gukoleeza eby’omu kibira, omukka ne gunyooka ne gutumbiira waggulu.
19 In the wrath of YHWH of Hosts The land has been consumed, And the people is as fuel of fire; A man has no pity on his brother,
Olw’obusungu bwa Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye ensi eggiiridde ddala, era n’abantu bali ng’enku ez’okukuma omuliro, tewali muntu alekawo muganda we.
20 And cuts down on the right, and has been hungry, And he devours on the left, And they have not been satisfied, They each devour the flesh of his own arm.
Balimalawo eby’oku mukono ogwa ddyo, naye balisigala bayala; balirya n’eby’oku kkono, naye tebalikkuta. Buli omu alirya ku mubiri gw’ezzadde lye.
21 Manasseh—Ephraim, and Ephraim—Manasseh, Together they [are] against Judah, With all this His anger has not turned back. And His hand is still stretched out!
Manase alirya Efulayimu ne Efulayimu n’alya Manase ate bombi ne balya Yuda. Naye wadde nga biri bityo, obusungu bwa Mukama buliba tebunnavaawo, era n’omukono gwe guliba gukyagoloddwa.
