Isaiah 8
1 And YHWH says to me, “Take a great tablet to yourself, and write on it with an engraving tool of man, To hurry spoil, enjoy prey.”
൧യഹോവ എന്നോട് കല്പിച്ചത്: “നീ ഒരു വലിയ പലക എടുത്ത്, സാമാന്യഅക്ഷരത്തിൽ: മഹേർ-ശാലാൽ ഹാശ്-ബസ് എന്ന് എഴുതുക.
2 And I cause faithful witnesses to testify to me, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah son of Jeberechiah.
൨ഞാൻ ഊരീയാപുരോഹിതനെയും യെബെരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖര്യാവെയും എനിക്ക് വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷികളാക്കി വയ്ക്കും”.
3 And I draw near to the prophetess, and she conceives, and bears a son; and YHWH says to me, “Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz,
൩ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; അവൾ ഗർഭംധരിച്ച് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. യഹോവ എന്നോട്: “അവന് മഹേർ-ശാലാൽ ഹാശ്-ബസ് എന്നു പേര് വിളിക്കുക;
4 for before the youth knows to cry, My father, and, My mother, one takes away the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria, before the king of Asshur.”
൪ഈ കുട്ടിക്ക് ‘അപ്പാ, അമ്മേ’ എന്നു വിളിക്കുവാൻ പ്രായമാകുംമുമ്പ് ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ ധനവും ശമര്യയിലെ കൊള്ളയും അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്ക് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോകും” എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
5 And YHWH adds to speak to me again, saying,
൫യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത് എന്തെന്നാൽ:
6 “Because that this people has refused The waters of Shiloah that go softly, And is rejoicing with Rezin and the son of Remaliah,
൬“ഈ ജനം സാവധാനത്തോടെ ഒഴുകുന്ന ശീലോഹാവെള്ളത്തെ നിരസിച്ചു രെസീനിലും രെമല്യാവിന്‍റെ മകനിലും സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്,
7 Therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up on them, The waters of the river, the mighty and the great (The king of Asshur, and all his glory), And it has gone up over all its streams, And has gone on over all its banks.
൭അതുകാരണത്താൽ തന്നെ, യഹോവ നദിയിലെ ബലമേറിയ പെരുവെള്ളത്തെ, അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ സകലമഹത്ത്വത്തെയും തന്നെ, അവരുടെ മേൽ വരുത്തും; അത് അതിന്റെ എല്ലാതോടുകളിലും പൊങ്ങി അതിന്റെ എല്ലാകരകളെയും കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകും.
8 And it has passed on into Judah, It has overflown and passed over, It comes to the neck, And the stretching out of its wings Has been the fullness of the breadth of your land, O Immanuel!
൮അത് യെഹൂദായിലേക്കു കടന്നു കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി കഴുത്തോളം എത്തും; അതിന്റെ വിടർന്ന ചിറക്, ഇമ്മാനൂവേലേ, നിന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ വിസ്‌തൃതിയെ മൂടും”.
9 Be friends, O nations, and be broken, And give ear, all you far-off ones of earth, Gird yourselves, and be broken, Gird yourselves, and be broken.
൯ജനതകളേ, കലഹിക്കുവിൻ; തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ! സകല ദൂരരാജ്യക്കാരുമായുള്ളവരേ, ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്ളുവിൻ; അര കെട്ടിക്കൊള്ളുവിൻ; തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ. അര കെട്ടിക്കൊള്ളുവിൻ, തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ.
10 Take counsel, and it is broken, Speak a word, and it does not stand, Because of Immanuel!”
൧൦കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചുകൊള്ളുവിൻ; അത് നിഷ്ഫലമായിത്തീരും; കാര്യം പറഞ്ഞുറക്കുവിൻ; അത് നിലനില്‍ക്കുകയില്ല; ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടി ഉണ്ട്.
11 For thus has YHWH spoken to me with strength of hand, and instructs me against walking in the way of this people, saying,
൧൧യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ പിടിച്ച് എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു; ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴിയിൽ നടക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് എനിക്ക് ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നത് എന്തെന്നാൽ:
12 “You do not say, A confederacy, To all to whom this people says, A confederacy, And its fear you do not fear, Nor declare fearful.
൧൨“ഈ ജനം കൂട്ടുകെട്ട് എന്നു പറയുന്നതിനെല്ലാം കൂട്ടുകെട്ട് എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയരുത്; അവർ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതിനെ നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടരുത്, ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകുകയുമരുത്.
13 YHWH of Hosts—Him you sanctify, And He [is] your Fear, and He your Dread,
൧൩സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ശുദ്ധിഉള്ളവനും ബഹുമാനിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവനും ആകട്ടെ; അവിടുന്ന് തന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭയവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭീതിയും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.
14 And He has been for a sanctuary, And for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling, To the two houses of Israel, For a trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
൧൪എന്നാൽ അവൻ ഒരു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരമായിരിക്കും; എങ്കിലും യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തിനു രണ്ടിനും അവൻ ഒരു ഇടർച്ചക്കല്ലും തടങ്ങൽപാറയും യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികൾക്ക് ഒരു കുടുക്കും കെണിയും ആയിരിക്കും.
15 And many among them have stumbled and fallen, And been broken, and snared, and captured.”
൧൫പലരും അതിന്മേൽ തട്ടിവീണു തകർന്നുപോവുകയും കെണിയിൽ കുടുങ്ങി പിടിപെടുകയും ചെയ്യും”.
16 Bind up the testimony, Seal the Law among My disciples.
൧൬സാക്ഷ്യം പൊതിഞ്ഞുകെട്ടുക; എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉപദേശം മുദ്രയിട്ടു വെക്കുക.
17 And I have waited for YHWH, Who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob, And I have looked for Him.
൧൭ഞാനോ യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തിന് തന്റെ മുഖം മറച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ യഹോവയ്ക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുകയും പ്രത്യാശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
18 Behold, I, and the children whom YHWH has given to me, [Are] for signs and for wonders in Israel, From YHWH of Hosts, who is dwelling in Mount Zion.
൧൮ഇതാ, ഞാനും യഹോവ എനിക്ക് തന്ന മക്കളും സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ അധിവസിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയാൽ യിസ്രായേലിൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.
19 And when they say to you, “Seek to those having familiar spirits, And to wizards, who chatter and mutter,” Does a people not seek to its God? To the dead on behalf of the living?
൧൯“വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന്മാരോട് ചിലയ്ക്കുകയും ജപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരായ ലക്ഷണവാദികളോടും അരുളപ്പാട് ചോദിക്കുവിൻ” എന്ന് അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ - “ജനം അവരുടെ ദൈവത്തോടല്ലയോ ചോദിക്കേണ്ടത്? ജീവനുള്ളവർക്കുവേണ്ടി മരിച്ചവരോടോ ചോദിക്കേണ്ടത്?
20 To the Law and to the testimony! If not, let them say after this manner, “That there is no dawn to it.”
൨൦ഉപദേശത്തിനും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിനും വരുവിൻ!” അവർ ഈ വാക്കുപോലെ പറയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ - അവർക്ക് അരുണോദയം ഉണ്ടാവുകയില്ല.
21 And it has passed over into it, hardened and hungry, And it has come to pass, That it is hungry, and has been angry, And made light of its king, and of its God, And has looked upwards.
൨൧അവർ ഏറ്റവും വലഞ്ഞും വിശന്നും ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകും; അവർക്ക് വിശക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ കോപാകുലരായി മുഖം മേലോട്ടുയർത്തി അവരുടെ രാജാവിനെയും അവരുടെ ദൈവത്തെയും ശപിക്കും.
22 And it looks attentively to the land, And behold, adversity and darkness! Dimness, distress, and thick darkness are driven away, But not the dimness for which she is in distress!
൨൨അവർ ഭൂമിയിൽ നോക്കുമ്പോൾ കഷ്ടതയും അന്ധകാരവും സങ്കടമുള്ള തിമിരവും കാണും; കൂരിരുട്ടിലേക്ക് അവരെ തള്ളിക്കളയും.
