< Isaiah 8 >

1 And YHWH says to me, “Take a great tablet to yourself, and write on it with an engraving tool of man, To hurry spoil, enjoy prey.”
Le hoe t’Iehovà amako: Mandrambesa takelake bey vaho sokiro an-tsokitse lahi’e ty hoe: Malisa ty fikopake, masika ty tsindroke,
2 And I cause faithful witnesses to testify to me, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah son of Jeberechiah.
le ho rambeseko ho amako ty valolombelo matoe hamolily, i Orià mpisoroñe naho i Zekarià ana’ Ieberekiaho.
3 And I draw near to the prophetess, and she conceives, and bears a son; and YHWH says to me, “Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz,
Aa le nimb’amy rakemba mpitokiy iraho; niaren-dre vaho nisamak’ ana-dahy. Le hoe t’Iehovà amako, Itokavo ty hoe Maher-salal-kas-baze,
4 for before the youth knows to cry, My father, and, My mother, one takes away the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria, before the king of Asshur.”
amy te aolo’ ty aharendreha’ i ajajay ty hikoike ty hoe ‘Raeko’ naho ‘Reneko,’ le fa nasese’ i mpanjaka’ i Asorey añe ty vara’ i Damesèke naho ty fikopahañe i Somerone.
5 And YHWH adds to speak to me again, saying,
Nitsara amako indraike t’Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
6 “Because that this people has refused The waters of Shiloah that go softly, And is rejoicing with Rezin and the son of Remaliah,
Kanao nitsambolitio’ondaty retiañe ty rano’ i Siloake mitsiritsioke moray, vaho mirebeke amy Retsine naho ty ana’ i Remaliaho;
7 Therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up on them, The waters of the river, the mighty and the great (The king of Asshur, and all his glory), And it has gone up over all its streams, And has gone on over all its banks.
Inao arè te hampandipore’ i Talè am’iareo ty rano’ i Saka maozatse naho beiy: i mpanjaka’ i Asorey amy ze hene enge’e; hanginahina amo talaha’e iabio, hitoabotse ambone’ ze hene fitroara’e;
8 And it has passed on into Judah, It has overflown and passed over, It comes to the neck, And the stretching out of its wings Has been the fullness of the breadth of your land, O Immanuel!
Hifaoke mb’e Iehodà re, handopatse vaho hiranga mb’eo, Eka ho takare’e ty fititia; hibànatse hañatseke i tane’oy ami’ty fivela’ o ela’eo, ry Imanoele.
9 Be friends, O nations, and be broken, And give ear, all you far-off ones of earth, Gird yourselves, and be broken, Gird yourselves, and be broken.
Mijeñajeñafa ry ondaty; Midemoha! Manolora ravembia, ry an-tsietoitane añe; miteveha sadia f’ie ho demoheñe; misadia fe ho demoheñe;
10 Take counsel, and it is broken, Speak a word, and it does not stand, Because of Immanuel!”
Misafiria safiry, fe tsy hanjofake; mañotsohotso firefeañe, f’ie tsy hijadoñe fa ama’ay t’i Andrianañahare.
11 For thus has YHWH spoken to me with strength of hand, and instructs me against walking in the way of this people, saying,
Nametse amako t’Iehovà am-pità’e maozatse, nañeretse ahy tsy hanjotike ami’ ty lala’ ondaty retiañe, ami’ty hoe:
12 “You do not say, A confederacy, To all to whom this people says, A confederacy, And its fear you do not fear, Nor declare fearful.
Ko ano ty hoe: ‘Kilily,’ o raha iaby atao’ ondaty retiañe ho fikililiañeo; ko hembañe’o ty fihembaña’ iareo, le ko ihebakebaha’o.
13 YHWH of Hosts—Him you sanctify, And He [is] your Fear, and He your Dread,
Hamasiño t’Iehovà’ i Màroy, ie ty ihembaña’ areo, ie ty añeveña’ areo.
14 And He has been for a sanctuary, And for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling, To the two houses of Israel, For a trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Ho fitsolohañe re, fe ho vato fikotroforañe naho lamilamy fitsikapiañe amy anjomba roe’ Israele rey; ho fandrike naho koboñe amo mpimoneñe e Ierosalaimeo.
15 And many among them have stumbled and fallen, And been broken, and snared, and captured.”
Hitotohitse ty maro, hikorovoke ho sèrañe, ho fandriheñe vaho ho tsepake.
16 Bind up the testimony, Seal the Law among My disciples.
Vahoro i fañinay, liteo ho a o mpiamakoo ty fañòha’e.
17 And I have waited for YHWH, Who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob, And I have looked for Him.
Le handiñe Iehovà iraho, I mañeta-daharañe amy anjomba’ Iakobey: Ama’e ao ty fitamàko.
18 Behold, I, and the children whom YHWH has given to me, [Are] for signs and for wonders in Israel, From YHWH of Hosts, who is dwelling in Mount Zion.
Intoy iraho naho o anake natolo’ Iehovà ahikoo! Viloñe naho halatsañe e Israele atoy boak’ am’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, I mimoneñe am-Bohi-Tsioney.
19 And when they say to you, “Seek to those having familiar spirits, And to wizards, who chatter and mutter,” Does a people not seek to its God? To the dead on behalf of the living?
Ie sigihe’iereo ami’ty hoe: Ipaiao amo jinio naho amo doany miñeoñeoñe naho mitreontreoñeo; Aa tsy ho paiae’ ondatio hao t’i Andrianañahare’e? Hantsaka fañahin-dolo hao o veloñeo?
20 To the Law and to the testimony! If not, let them say after this manner, “That there is no dawn to it.”
Mb’an-Kàke naho i fañinay! Naho tsy milahatse ami’ty tsara toy ty enta’ iareo, le tsy nanjirihan’ andro.
21 And it has passed over into it, hardened and hungry, And it has come to pass, That it is hungry, and has been angry, And made light of its king, and of its God, And has looked upwards.
Hiranga aze iereo, am-poheke naho hasalikoañe, aa ie milingoa, le ho boseke vaho hamatse i mpanjaka’ iareoy naho ty’ndrahare’ iareo. Aa ke hiandrandra iereo,
22 And it looks attentively to the land, And behold, adversity and darkness! Dimness, distress, and thick darkness are driven away, But not the dimness for which she is in distress!
hera hitolike an-tane, le haronje am-paloviloviañe naho am-pigodoñañe, an-kamoromoroñañe naho an-kaferenaiñañe vaho añ’ ieñe ao.
