< Isaiah 59 >

1 Behold, the hand of YHWH Has not been shortened from saving, Nor His ear heavy from hearing.
A IA hoi, aole i pokole ka lima o Iehova, I mea e ole ai ia e hoola; Aole hoi i kaumaha kona pepeiao, I mea e ole ai ia e hoolohe;
2 But your iniquities have been separating Between you and your God, And your sins have hidden The Presence from you—from hearing.
Aka, ua kaupale no ko oukou mau hewa mawaena o oukou, a me ko oukou Akua, A ua huna ko oukou mau hala i kona maka, mai o oukou aku, I ole oia e hoolohe mai.
3 For your hands have been defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity, Your lips have spoken falsehood, Your tongue mutters perverseness.
No ka mea, ua paumaele ko oukou mau lima i ke koko, A me ko oukou manamana lima i ka hewa; Ua olelo no ko oukou mau lehelehe i ka wahahee, A ua olelo ko oukou alelo i ka hewa.
4 There is none calling in righteousness, And there is none pleading in faithfulness, Trusting on emptiness, and speaking falsehood, Conceiving perverseness, and bearing iniquity.
Aohe mea i hea aku ma ka pono, Aohe mea hooponopono ma ka oiaio. Hilinai no lakou ma ka lapuwale, a olelo no hoi i ka wahahee; Hapai no lakou, he kolohe, a hanau mai hoi, he hewa.
5 They have hatched eggs of a viper, And weave webs of a spider, Whoever is eating their eggs dies, and the crushed hatches a viper.
Hoomoe no lakou i na hua o na moopepeiaohao, A ulana lakou i ka punawelewele o ka lanalana: O ka mea ai i ka lakou hua, make no ia, A i ka wa i hoopepeia'i ia, puka mai no he moonihoawa.
6 Their webs do not become a garment, Nor do they cover themselves with their works, Their works [are] works of iniquity, And a deed of violence [is] in their hands.
Aole e lilo ana ko lakou punawelewele i aahu, Aole hoi lakou e uhi ia lakou iho i ka lakou hana. O ka lakou mau hana, he mau hana ia no ka hewa, Aia ma ko lakou lima ka hana hookaumaha.
7 Their feet run to evil, And they hurry to shed innocent blood, Their thoughts [are] thoughts of iniquity, Spoiling and destruction [are] in their highways.
Holo no ko lakou wawae i ka hewa, A hoowikiwiki lakou i ka hookahe koko hala ole; O ko lakou mau kuka, he mau kuka no ka hewa; Aia no ka luku, a me ka make ma ko lakou kuamoo.
8 They have not known a way of peace, And there is no judgment in their paths, They have made their paths perverse for themselves, None treading in it has known peace.
Aole lakou ike i ka aoao o ka malu, Aole hoi ho pono ma ko lakou hele ana; Ua hana lakou i ala kekee no lakou; O ka mea hele malaila, aole ia e ike i ka malu.
9 Therefore judgment has been far from us, And righteousness does not reach us, We wait for light, and behold, darkness, For brightness—in thick darkness we go,
Nolaila, ua loihi ka pono mai o makou aku, Aole hahai ka hooponopono ia makou a loaa; Kakali no makou i ka malamalama, aia hoi, he pouli; A i ke alohilohi hoi, aka, ke hele nei makou ma ka poeleele.
10 We feel [for] the wall like the blind, Indeed, we feel as without eyes, We have stumbled at noon as at twilight, In desolate places as the dead.
Ke kolo nei makou e hana i ka pa, me he makapo la, Ke kolo nei no makou, me he mea maka ole la, Kulanalana makou i ke awakea, e like me ka po; Me he poe make la, maloko o na wahi momona.
11 We make a noise as bears—all of us, And we coo severely as doves; We wait for judgment, and there is none, For salvation—it has been far from us.
Uwo no makou a pau, e like me na bea, A kaniuhu nui no hoi, e like me na manu nunu. Kakali no makou i ka hoopono, aole hoi, A i ke ola hoi, a ua mamao aku ia mai o makou aku.
12 For our transgressions have been multiplied before You, And our sins have testified against us, For our transgressions [are] with us, And our iniquities—we have known them.
No ka mea, ua hoonuia ko makou hewa imua ou, A o ko makou hewa ka mea hoike ku e ia makou; No ka mea, me makou no ko makou hewa, A ua ike hoi makou i ko makou hala;
13 Transgressing, and lying against YHWH, And removing from after our God, Speaking oppression and apostasy, Conceiving and uttering from the heart Words of falsehood.
I ke kipi ana, a i ka hoole ana ia Iehova, I ka huli ana hoi, mai ka hahai ana i ko makou Akua, E kamailio ana i ka alunu, a me ka hoi hope, E manao ana a e hai ana hoi, mai loko aku o ka naau i na olelo wahahee.
14 And judgment is removed backward, And righteousness stands far off, For truth has been feeble in the street, And straightforwardness is not able to enter,
A ua hoohuli hope ia ka hoopono, Ua ku mamao aku ka pono: No ka mea, ua hina ka oiaio ma ke alanui, Aole hoi e hiki i ka pololei ke komo mai.
15 And the truth is lacking, And whoever is turning aside from evil, Is making himself a spoil. And YHWH sees, and it is evil in His eyes, That there is no judgment.
Oia, ua nele i ka oiaio; A o ka mea haalele i ka hewa, ua hoopioia; Ike mai no o Iehova, a huhu mai la ia, no ka mea, aohe pono.
16 And He sees that there is no man, And is astonished that there is no intercessor, And His own arm gives salvation to Him, And His righteousness—it sustained Him.
Ike iho la ia, aohe kanaka, A haohao mai la ia, no ka mea, aohe mea nana e uwao: Nolaila, no kona lima no i hoola mai nona iho, Na kona pono hoi i hookupaa ia ia.
17 And He puts on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head, And He puts on garments of vengeance [for] clothing, And is covered, as [with] an upper-robe, [with] zeal.
No ka mea, hookomo ia i ka pono me he paleumauma la, A me ka mahiole o ke ola ma kona poo; A hookomo no hoi oia i ka lole o ka hoopai ana, i aahu nona, A aahuia oia i ka manao ikaika, me he holoku la.
18 According to deeds—so He repays. Fury to His adversaries, [their] deed to His enemies, To the islands He repays [their] deed.
E like me na hana, pela no oia e hoouku ai, O ka inaina i ka poe ku e ia ia; E hoopai no oia i kona poe enemi; E hoouku no oia i ko na aina e.
19 And from the west they fear the Name of YHWH, And from the rising of the sun—His glory, When an adversary comes in as a flood, The Spirit of YHWH has raised an ensign against him.
A e makau no lakou i ka inoa o Iehova, mai ke komohana mai, A i kona nani hoi, mai ka puka ana a ka la mai; I ka wa e komo mai ai ia e like me ke kahawai haiki, Na ka Uhane o Iehova e kau ana i ka hae ku e.
20 “And the Redeemer has come to Zion, Even to captives of transgression in Jacob,” A declaration of YHWH.
A e hele mai no ka Hoolapanai i Ziona, A i ka poe no hoi i huli, mai ka hewa mai, mawaena o ka Iakoba, wahi a Iehova.
21 “And I—this [is] My covenant with them,” said YHWH, “My Spirit that [is] on you, And My words that I have put in your mouth, Do not depart from your mouth, And from the mouth of your seed, And from the mouth of your seed’s seed,” said YHWH, “From now on, even for all time!”
Owau hoi, eia ka'u berita me lakou, wahi a Iehova; O kuu Uhane, ka mea maluna ou, A me ka'u mau olelo, a'u i waiho ai iloko o kou waha, Aole e haalele ia mau mea i kou waha, Aole hoi i ka waha o kau mau keiki, Aole hoi i ka waha o na keiki a kau mau keiki, Mai keia wa aku, a i ke ao pau ole, Wahi a Iehova.
