Isaiah 52
1 Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion, Put on the garments of your beauty, Jerusalem—the Holy City; For the uncircumcised and unclean no longer enter into you again.
Svegliati, svegliati, rivestiti della tua magnificenza, Sion; indossa le vesti più belle, Gerusalemme, città santa; perché mai più entrerà in te il non circonciso né l'impuro.
2 Shake yourself from dust, arise, sit, O Jerusalem, Bands of your neck have loosed themselves, O captive daughter of Zion.
Scuotiti la polvere, alzati, Gerusalemme schiava! Sciogliti dal collo i legami, schiava figlia di Sion!
3 For thus said YHWH: “You have been sold for nothing, And you are redeemed without money.”
Poiché dice il Signore: «Senza prezzo foste venduti e sarete riscattati senza denaro».
4 For thus said Lord YHWH: “My people went down at first To Egypt to sojourn there, And Asshur—he has oppressed it for nothing.
Poiché dice il Signore Dio: «In Egitto è sceso il mio popolo un tempo per abitarvi come straniero; poi l'Assiro senza motivo lo ha oppresso.
5 And now, what [have] I here,” A declaration of YHWH, “That My people are taken for nothing? Its rulers cause howling,” A declaration of YHWH, “And My Name is continually despised all the day.
Ora, che faccio io qui? - oracolo del Signore - Sì, il mio popolo è stato deportato per nulla! I suoi dominatori trionfavano - oracolo del Signore - e sempre, tutti i giorni il mio nome è stato disprezzato.
6 Therefore My people know My Name, Therefore, in that day, Surely I [am] He who is speaking, behold Me.”
Pertanto il mio popolo conoscerà il mio nome, comprenderà in quel giorno che io dicevo: Eccomi qua».
7 How lovely on the mountains, Have been the feet of one proclaiming tidings, Sounding peace, proclaiming good tidings, Sounding salvation, Saying to Zion, “Your God has reigned.”
Come sono belli sui monti i piedi del messaggero di lieti annunzi che annunzia la pace, messaggero di bene che annunzia la salvezza, che dice a Sion: «Regna il tuo Dio».
8 The voice of your watchmen! They have lifted up the voice, together they cry aloud, Because they see eye to eye, In YHWH’s turning back [to] Zion.
Senti? Le tue sentinelle alzano la voce, insieme gridano di gioia, poiché vedono con gli occhi il ritorno del Signore in Sion.
9 Break forth, sing together, O ruins of Jerusalem, For YHWH has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem.
Prorompete insieme in canti di gioia, rovine di Gerusalemme, perché il Signore ha consolato il suo popolo, ha riscattato Gerusalemme.
10 YHWH has made His holy arm bare Before the eyes of all the nations, And all the ends of the earth have seen The salvation of our God.
Il Signore ha snudato il suo santo braccio davanti a tutti i popoli; tutti i confini della terra vedranno la salvezza del nostro Dio.
11 Turn aside, turn aside, go out from there, Do not touch the unclean, Go out from her midst, Be pure, who are carrying the weapons of YHWH.
Fuori, fuori, uscite di là! Non toccate niente d'impuro. Uscite da essa, purificatevi, voi che portate gli arredi del Signore!
12 For you do not go out in haste, Indeed, you do not go on with flight, For YHWH [is] going before you, And the God of Israel [is] gathering you!
Voi non dovrete uscire in fretta né andarvene come uno che fugge, perché davanti a voi cammina il Signore, il Dio di Israele chiude la vostra carovana.
13 “Behold, My Servant acts wisely, He is high, and has been lifted up, And has been very high.”
Ecco, il mio servo avrà successo, sarà onorato, esaltato e molto innalzato.
14 As many have been astonished at You (His appearance so marred by man, And His form by sons of men),
Come molti si stupirono di lui - tanto era sfigurato per essere d'uomo il suo aspetto e diversa la sua forma da quella dei figli dell'uomo -
15 So He sprinkles many nations. Kings shut their mouth concerning Him, For that which was not recounted to them they have seen, And that which they had not heard they have understood!
così si meraviglieranno di lui molte genti; i re davanti a lui si chiuderanno la bocca, poiché vedranno un fatto mai ad essi raccontato e comprenderanno ciò che mai avevano udito.
