Isaiah 49
1 Listen, O islands, to Me, And attend, O peoples, from afar, YHWH has called Me from the womb, From the bowels of My mother He has made mention of My Name.
੧ਹੇ ਟਾਪੂਓ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੋ, ਹੇ ਦੂਰ ਦੀਓ ਕੌਮੋਂ, ਕੰਨ ਲਾਓ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਢਿੱਡੋਂ ਹੀ ਸੱਦ ਲਿਆ, ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਆ।
2 And He makes My mouth as a sharp sword, He has hid Me in the shadow of His hand, And He makes Me for a clear arrow, He has hid Me in His quiver.
੨ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਸਾਯੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਚਮਕੀਲਾ ਤੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਰਕਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
3 And He says to me, “You are My servant, O Israel, In whom I beautify Myself.”
੩ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
4 And I said, “I labored in vain, I consumed my power for emptiness and vanity, But my judgment [is] with YHWH, And my wage with my God.”
੪ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਲ ਫੋਕਟ ਤੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਲਈ ਗੁਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
5 “And now,” said YHWH, who is forming Me from the belly—His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him (Though Israel is not gathered, Yet I am honored in the eyes of YHWH, And My God has been My strength).
੫ਹੁਣ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਮੋੜ ਲਿਆਵਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ, ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਲ ਹੈ, -
6 And He says, “It has been a light thing That You are My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to bring back the preserved of Israel, And I have given You for a light to the nations, To be My salvation to the end of the earth.”
੬ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਛੋਟੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਿਆਂ ਗੋਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਬਚਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜਨ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੋਵੇਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਜੋਤ ਠਹਿਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ।
7 Thus said YHWH, Redeemer of Israel, His Holy One, To the despised in soul, To the detested of a nation, To the Servant of rulers: “Kings see, and have risen, princes, and worship, For the sake of YHWH, who is faithful, The Holy of Israel, and He chooses You.”
੭ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਘਿਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਰਾਜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ, ਹਾਕਮ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਣਗੇ, ਇਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
8 Thus said YHWH: “In a time of good pleasure I answered You, And in a day of salvation I helped You, And I keep You, and give You, For a covenant of the people, To establish the earth, To cause to inherit desolate inheritances.
੮ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਮਨਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ, ਮੈਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਲਈ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਾਲ ਕਰੇਂ, ਵਿਰਾਨ ਵਿਰਾਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡੇਂ,
9 To say to the bound, Go out, To those in darkness, Be uncovered. They feed on the ways, And their pasture is in all high places.
੯ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖੇਂ ਕਿ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾਓ! ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਲਾਓ। ਉਹ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਚਰਨਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੰਗੀਆਂ ਟੀਸੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੂਹਾਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ।
10 They do not hunger, nor thirst, Nor do mirage and sun strike them, For He who is pitying them leads them, And tends them by fountains of waters.
੧੦ਉਹ ਨਾ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਨਾ ਤਿਹਾਏ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਨਾ ਲੂ, ਨਾ ਧੁੱਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਤਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
11 And I have made all My mountains for a way, And My highways are lifted up.
੧੧ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
12 Behold, these come in from afar, And behold, these from the north, and from the sea, And these from the land of Sinim.”
੧੨ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਆਉਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲੋਂ, ਅਤੇ ਅਸਵਨ ਦੇਸ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਣਗੇ।
13 Sing, O heavens, and rejoice, O earth, And break forth, O mountains, with singing, For YHWH has comforted His people, And He pities His afflicted ones.
੧੩ਹੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ੋ, ਜੈਕਾਰਾ ਗਜਾਓ! ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ, ਬਾਗ-ਬਾਗ ਹੋ! ਹੇ ਪਰਬਤੋ, ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਰੇ ਮਾਰੋ! ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਖਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
14 And Zion says, “YHWH has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.”
੧੪ਪਰ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
15 “Does a woman forget her suckling, The loved one—the son of her womb? Indeed, these forget—but I do not forget you.
੧੫ਭਲਾ, ਮਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਮੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਾਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਮ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ? ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਵੇ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਂਗਾ।
16 Behold, I have carved you on the palms of the hand, Your walls [are] continually before Me.
੧੬ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਹਥੇਲੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉੱਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹਨ।
17 Those building you have hurried, Those destroying you, and laying you waste, go out from you.
੧੭ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਫੁਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਢਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
18 Lift up your eyes, [look] around and see, All of them have been gathered, They have come to you. [As] I live,” a declaration of YHWH! “Surely you put on all of them as an ornament, And you bind them on like a bride.
੧੮ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪਹਿਨੇਂਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾੜੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇਗੀ।
19 Because your ruins, and your desolate places, And the land of your ruins, Are now surely restricted because of inhabitants, And those consuming you have been far off.
੧੯ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੇਸ ਉਜਾੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ, - ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਭੀੜੀ ਹੋਵੇਂਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭੱਖ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
20 Again the sons of your bereavement say in your ears: The place is too narrow for me, Come near to me—and I dwell.
੨੦ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਫੇਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਇਹ ਥਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਭੀੜਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੱਸੀਏ।
21 And you have said in your heart: Who has begotten these for me? And I [am] bereaved and barren, A captive, and turned aside, And who has nourished these? Behold, I was left by myself, these—where [are] they from?”
੨੧ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖੇਗੀ, ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜਣਿਆ? ਮੈਂ ਬੇ-ਔਲਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਂਝ ਸੀ, ਮੈਂ ਕੱਢੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, - ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਲਿਆ? ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਕੱਲੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਏ ਹਨ?
22 Thus said Lord YHWH: “Behold, I lift up My hand to nations, And I raise up My ensign to peoples, And they have brought your sons in the bosom, And your daughters are carried on the shoulder.
੨੨ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਠਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਝੰਡਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਛੜ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਲਿਆਉਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਮੋਢਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
23 And kings have been your nursing fathers, And their princesses—your nursing mothers; Face to the earth—they bow down to you, And they lick up the dust of your feet, And you have known that I [am] YHWH, That those expecting Me are not ashamed.”
੨੩ਰਾਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਈਆਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ, ਉਹ ਮੂੰਹ ਭਾਰ ਡਿੱਗ ਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਚੱਟਣਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣੇਂਗੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਡੀਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਦੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਨਾ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
24 Is prey taken from the mighty? And the captive of the righteous delivered?
੨੪ਕੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ? ਜਾਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਕੈਦੀ ਛੁਡਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ?
25 For thus said YHWH: “Even the captive of the mighty is taken, And the prey of the terrible is delivered, And I strive with your striver, and I save your sons.
੨੫ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੈਦੀ ਲੈ ਲਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਦੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਲੈ ਲਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਝਗੜਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਬਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
26 And I have caused your oppressors to eat their own flesh, And they drink their own blood as new wine, And all flesh has known that I, YHWH, Your Savior, and your Redeemer, [Am] the Mighty One of Jacob!”
੨੬ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਤਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਾਸ ਖੁਆਵਾਂਗਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤਾਨੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਧ ਨਾਲ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਜਾਣਨਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ।
