< Isaiah 44 >

1 “And now, hear, O Jacob, My servant, And Israel, whom I have fixed on—

2 Thus said YHWH, your Maker, and your Former, From the womb He helps you: Do not fear, My servant Jacob, And Yeshurun, whom I have fixed on.

3 For I pour waters on a thirsty one, And floods on a dry land, I pour My Spirit on your seed, And My blessing on your offspring.
tui anghae kami nuiah tui to ka bawh moe, kazaek long nuiah tui to ka ohsak han; na caanawk nuiah ka Muithla to ka bawh moe, na caanawk nuiah tahamhoihhaih ka longsak han.
4 And they have sprung up as among grass, As willows by conduits of water.
Nihcae loe tui taengah amprawk akung baktiah, phrohnawk salakah amprawk o tih.
5 This [one] says, For I [am] YHWH’s, And this calls [himself] by the name of Jacob, And this [one] writes [with] his hand, For YHWH, And surnames himself by the name of Israel.”

6 Thus said YHWH, King of Israel, And his Redeemer, YHWH of Hosts: “I [am] the first, and I [am] the last, And besides Me there is no God.

7 And who [is] as I, call and declare it, And arrange it for Me, Since My placing the people of antiquity, And things that are coming, And those that come, they declare to them.
Canghnii ih kamimawk ka sak nathuem hoi kamtong vaihi khoek to, mi maw hae hmuennawk hae kai hanah kawk moe, thui pae thaih kaom? Om nahaeloe kaom li hmuennawk hoi kaom han koi hmuennawk to nihcae hanah thui noek nasoe.
8 Do not fear, nor be afraid, Have I not caused you to hear from that time, and declared? And you [are] My witnesses, Is there a God besides Me? Indeed, there is none, I have not known another Rock.”
Tasoeh o hmah loe, zii o hmah; hae lok hae canghnii ah kang thuih o moe, kang panoek o sak coek boeh na ai maw? Nangcae loe kai hnukungah na oh o. Kai ai ah Sithaw kalah oh maw? Ue, Sithaw kalah om ai, Sithaw ah kaom maeto doeh ka panoek ai, tiah a thuih.
9 Framers of a carved image, all of them [are] emptiness, And their desirable things do not profit, And they [are] their own witnesses, They do not see, nor know, that they may be ashamed.
Krang sah kaminawk loe azom pui ah ni oh o boih; a tawnh o ih hmuennawk doeh atho om ai; nihcae han lok thui kami loe mik a maeng; tidoeh panoek o ai, angmacae azat hanah, angmacae to hnukungah oh o.
10 Who has formed a god, And poured out a molten image—not profitable?
Mi mah maw kadueh sithaw to sak, to tih ai boeh loe sakcop ih krang loe mi mah maw sak? To krang loe atho tidoeh om ai.
11 Behold, all his companions are ashamed, As for artisans—they [are] of men, All of them gather together, they stand up, They fear, they are ashamed together.
Khenah, anih ih ampuinawk loe azat o boih tih; ban tok sah thaih kaminawk loe tidoeh athum ai kami rumram ah ni oh o; nihcae loe nawnto angcu o boih nasoe loe, angdoe o nasoe; toe nihcae loe zii o ueloe, nawnto azathaih tong o tih.
12 He has worked iron [with] an axe, And has worked with coals, And forms it with hammers, And works it by his powerful arm, Indeed, he is hungry, and there is no power, He does not drink water, and he is wearied.
Sumdaeng kami loe caki to lak moe, hmai to pangaeh; caki hoiah a daengh; a ban thacakhaih hoiah a daengh; ue, anih loe zok amthlam moe, thazok sut; tui nae ai pongah angpho sut.
13 He has worked [with] wood, He has stretched out a rule, He marks it out with a line, He makes it with carving tools, And he marks it out with a compass, And makes it according to the form of a man, According to the beauty of a man, To remain in the house.
Ban toksak kop kami mah qui hoiah tah pacoengah, angmathaih to a quenh; a quenh baktiah angmah patoh ih sum hoiah a sak; kami krang to a soi, kranghoih parai nongpa krang to a sak moe, angmah ih im thungah a suek.
14 Cutting down cedars for himself, He also takes a cypress, and an oak, And he strengthens [it] for himself Among the trees of a forest, He has planted an ash, and the shower nourishes [it].
Anih mah Sedar thingnawk to pakhruk, saipress thing hoi oak thing doeh pakhruk; tupui thung ih thingnawk salakah a qoengsak, hmaica thing to thling moe, khotui mah qoengsak tahang.
15 And it has been for man to burn, And he takes of them, and becomes warm, Indeed, he kindles [it], and has baked bread, Indeed, he makes a god, and bows himself, He has made it a carved image, And he falls down to it.
Hnukkhuem ah loe hmaitik han ih thing ah oh; thoemto thing to a lak moe, hmai angawt hanah a tik; ue, takaw to paop; sithaw ah a sak moe, a bok; krang ah a sak moe, a hmaa ah cangkrawn hoiah a bok.
16 Half of it he has burned in the fire, By [this] half of it he eats flesh, He roasts a roasting and is satisfied, Indeed, he is warm and says: “Aha, I have become warm, I have enjoyed the light.”
Thoemto thingnawk to hmai ah a tik; thoemto thing hoiah buh to a thongh; moi to pahaih moe, kamhah ah a caak; ue, hmai to angawt moe, Aha, kai loe hmai ka cenh moe, kabae um ah ka oh boeh, tiah a thuih.
17 And he has made its remnant for a god—For his carved image, He falls down to it, and worships, And prays to it, and he says, “Deliver me, for you [are] my god.”
Kamthlai thing hoiah bok hanah sithaw to a sak; akuep tathuk moe, krang to a bok; lawk a thuih moe, Na pahlong ah, nang loe ka sithaw ah na oh, tiah a naa.
18 They have not known, nor do they understand, For He has coated their eyes from seeing, Their heart from acting wisely.
To krangnawk loe tidoeh panoek o ai, tidoeh thaih o ai; mik pasim o pongah, tidoeh hnu o thai ai; palung maengh o pongah, tidoeh thai o kop ai.
19 And none turn [it] back to his heart, Nor has knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire, Indeed, I have also baked bread over its coals, I roast flesh and I eat, And I make its remnant for an abomination, I fall down to the stock of a tree.”
Mi mah doeh, Thoemto thing to hmai ah ka tik; ue, to ih hmai kamngaeh nuiah takaw to ka pahaih; moi to ka paaem moe, ka caak; kanghmat hmai saae hoiah panuet thok hmuen ah ka sak moe, to hmuen hmaa ah akuep moe, ka bok hae amsoem maw? tiah palung thungah poek o moe, panoekhaih tawn kami maeto doeh om o ai.
20 Feeding on ashes, the heart is deceived, It has turned him aside, And he does not deliver his soul, nor says: “Is there not a lie in my right hand?”
Anih loe lungtui poep to caak moe, alinghaih palungthin mah loklam to anghmangsak boeh, a hinghaih pahlong thai ai, Ka bantang bangah kaom krang loe alinghaih ah na ai maw oh? tiah thui thai ai.
21 “Remember these, O Jacob, and Israel, For you [are] My servant, I formed you, you [are] a servant to Me, O Israel, you do not forget Me.
Aw Jakob, hae hmuenawk hae panoek ah; Aw Israel, nang loe ka tamna ah ni na oh; kai mah ni kang sak; nang loe ka tamna ni; Aw Israel, nang to kang pahnet mak ai.
22 I have blotted out, as [by] a thick cloud, Your transgressions, And as [by] a cloud, your sins, Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”
Na sak o pazaehaih loe kathah tamai baktih, na zae o haihnawk doeh tamai baktiah kang hmatsak boeh; kai mah kang krang o boeh pongah, kai khaeah amlaem oh.
23 Sing, O heavens, for YHWH has worked, Shout, O lower parts of earth, Break forth, O mountains, with singing, Forest, and every tree in it, For YHWH has redeemed Jacob, And He beautifies Himself in Israel.
Aw vannawk, laa to sah oh; Angraeng mah sak pacoeng boeh; long thungah kaom hmuennawk, tha hoi hang oh; nangcae maenawk, Aw taw taqak hoi athung ah kaom thingnawk boih, laa to sah oh; Angraeng mah Jakob to akrang moe, Israel thungah a lensawkhaih to amtuengsak boeh.
24 Thus said YHWH, your Redeemer, And your Framer from the womb: “I [am] YHWH, doing all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself, Spreading out the earth—who [is] with Me?
Nangcae akrangkung, zok thungah nangcae omsakkung, Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; Kai loe hmuen boih sahkung, angmabueng ah van amyuengsakkung; long doeh payuengkung, Angraeng ah ka oh.
25 Making void the tokens of devisers, And makes diviners mad, Turning the wise backward, And makes their knowledge foolish.
Kamro tahmaanawk ih angmathaih to ka phraek moe, hmabang angzo han koi hmuen tahmaa kaminawk to kam thusak boeh; palungha kaminawk ih panoekhaih to amthuhaih ah ka sak pae;
26 Confirming the word of His servant, He perfects the counsel of His messengers, Who is saying of Jerusalem, She is inhabited, And of cities of Judah, They will be built, and her ruins I raise up,
a tamnanawk ih lok to caaksak moe, angmah ih laicaehnawk mah thuih ih lok acungsakkung mah, Jerusalem loe kami ohhaih ahmuen ah om ueloe, Judah vangpuinawk doeh sah let tih, kamro hmuennawk to ka sak let han, tiah a thuih.
27 Who is saying to the deep, Be dry, and your rivers I cause to dry up,
Anih mah ni kathuk parai tuinawk khaeah, Kang oh, tiah ka naa moe, vapui tuinawk to ka kangsak han, tiah thuih.
28 Who is saying of Cyrus, My shepherd, And he perfects all My delight, So as to say of Jerusalem, You are built, And of the temple, You are founded.”
Cyrus kawng pongah, Anih loe kai ih tuutoepkung ah oh, anih mah ka koehhaih boih akoepsak tih; Jerusalem khaeah, Nang loe sak let ah na om tih; tempul khaeah, nang doehthaih ahmuen to sak amtong ah om tih boeh, tiah thuikung Angraeng ah ka oh, tiah a thuih.
