Isaiah 41
1 Keep silent toward Me, O islands, And the peoples pass on [to] power, They come near, then they speak, “Together we draw near to judgment.”
“தீவுகளே, நீங்கள் எனக்குமுன் மவுனமாயிருங்கள்! நாடுகள் தமது பெலனைப் புதுப்பிக்கட்டும்! அவர்கள் முன்வந்து பேசட்டும்; நாம் எல்லோரும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கும் இடத்தில் ஒன்று கூடுவோம்.
2 Who stirred up a righteous one from the east? He calls him to His foot, He gives nations before him, And He causes him to rule kings, He gives [them] as dust [to] his sword, As driven stubble [to] his bow.
“கிழக்கிலிருந்து ஒருவனை எழுப்பி, நேர்மையுடன் தனக்குப் பணிசெய்ய அவனை அழைத்தவர் யார்? அவர் நாடுகளை அவனிடம் ஒப்படைத்து, அரசர்களை அவன் முன்னே அடக்குகிறார். அவனோ அவர்களைத் தன் வாளினால் தூசியாக்கி, தன் வில்லினால் காற்றில் பறக்கும் பதராக்குகிறான்.
3 He pursues them, he passes over in safety A path he does not enter with his feet.
அவன் தனக்குத் தீங்கு நேராமல், தான் முன்னர் போகாத வழியாக அவர்களைத் துரத்திச் செல்கிறான்.
4 Who has worked and done, Calling the generations from the first? I, YHWH, the first, and with the last I [am] He.
இதைச் செய்தது யார்? ஆதியிலிருந்து தலைமுறைகளை அழைத்து, இதை நிறைவேற்றியது யார்? முந்தினவராய் இருப்பவர் யெகோவாவாகிய நானே, பிந்தினவராய் இருப்பதும் நானே.”
5 Islands have seen and fear, The ends of the earth tremble, They have drawn near, indeed, they come.
தீவுகள் அதைக்கண்டு பயப்படுகின்றன; பூமியின் எல்லைகள் நடுங்குகின்றன. அவர்கள் நெருங்கி முன்னேறி வந்து,
6 They each help his neighbor, And to his brother he says, “Be strong.”
ஒருவருக்கு ஒருவர் உதவிசெய்து, “திடன்கொள்!” என்று தம் அடுத்தவருக்கு சொல்கிறார்கள்.
7 And an artisan strengthens the refiner, A smoother [with] a hammer, Him who is beating [on] an anvil, saying, “For joining it [is] good,” And he strengthens it with nails, it is not moved!
கைவினைஞன் கொல்லனை ஊக்குவிக்கிறான், சுத்தியலால் தட்டி மிருதுவாக்குகிறவன் பட்டறையில் இரும்பை வைத்து அடிப்பவனை உற்சாகப்படுத்தி, “அது நன்றாய் இணைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது” என்று சொல்லி, அது அசையாதபடி ஆணிகளால் அடித்து இறுக்குகிறான்.
8 And you, O Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, Seed of Abraham, My lover,
“ஆனால் நீயோ, இஸ்ரயேலே, என் அடியவனே, நான் தெரிந்தெடுத்த யாக்கோபே, என் நண்பன் ஆபிரகாமின் வழித்தோன்றலே,
9 Whom I have taken hold of, from the ends of the earth, And from its near places I have called you, And I say to you, You [are] My servant, I have chosen you, and not rejected you.
நான் பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து உன்னை எடுத்து, அதன் தொலைதூரத்திலிருந்து உன்னை அழைத்தேன். நான், ‘நீ என் ஊழியக்காரன்’; நான் உன்னைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டேன், நான் உன்னைப் புறக்கணிக்கவில்லை என்றேன்.
10 Do not be afraid, for I [am] with you, do not look around, for I [am] your God, I have strengthened you, Indeed, I have helped you, indeed, I upheld you, With the right hand of My righteousness.
ஆகையால் பயப்படாதே, நான் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறேன்; கலங்காதே, நானே உன் இறைவன். நான் உன்னைப் பெலப்படுத்தி, உனக்கு உதவி செய்வேன்; எனது நீதியின் வலது கரத்தால் நான் உன்னைத் தாங்கிக்கொள்வேன்.
11 Behold, all those displeased with you, They are ashamed and blush, They are as nothing, indeed, The men who strive with you perish.
“கடுங்கோபத்தோடு உன்னை எதிர்ப்பவர்கள் யாவரும் நிச்சயமாக வெட்கப்படுத்தப்பட்டு, அவமானப்படுத்தப்படுவார்கள். உன்னை எதிர்ப்பவர்கள் இருந்த இடம் தெரியாமலேயே அழிந்துபோவார்கள்.
12 You seek them, and do not find them, The men who debate with you, They are as nothing, indeed, as nothing, The men who war with you.
உனது பகைவரைத் தேடினாலும் நீ காணமாட்டாய், உன்னை எதிர்த்துப் போரிடும் யாவரும் இருந்த இடம் தெரியாமலே போய்விடுவார்கள்.
13 For I, your God YHWH, Am strengthening your right hand, He who is saying to you, “Do not fear, I have helped you.”
ஏனெனில், யெகோவாவாகிய நானே உன் இறைவன். நானே உனது வலதுகையைப் பிடித்து, பயப்படாதே, உனக்கு நான் உதவி செய்வேன் என்று சொல்கிறவர்.
14 Do not fear, O worm Jacob, You men of Israel, I helped you, a declaration of YHWH, Even your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
பயப்படாதே, யாக்கோபு என்னும் புழுவே, இஸ்ரயேல் என்னும் சிறுகூட்டமே, நான், நானே உனக்கு உதவி செய்வேன்” என்று, உனது மீட்பரும் இஸ்ரயேலின் பரிசுத்தருமாகிய யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
15 Behold, I have set you for a new sharp threshing instrument, Possessing teeth, you thresh mountains, And beat small, and make hills as chaff.
“இதோ, நான் உன்னை ஒரு சூடடிக்கும் கருவியாக்குவேன், அது புதியதும், கூர்மையானதும், அநேக பற்களை உடையதுமான கருவி. நீ மலைகளை போரடித்து, அவைகளை நொறுக்குவாய்; நீ குன்றுகளைப் பதராக்குவாய்.
16 You winnow them, and a wind lifts them up, And a whirlwind scatters them, And you rejoice in YHWH, [And] boast yourself in the Holy One of Israel.
நீ அவைகளைத் தூற்றுவாய், காற்று அவைகளை அள்ளிக்கொண்டுபோய், புயல்காற்று அவைகளை வாரிக்கொண்டு போகும். ஆனால் நீயோ, யெகோவாவில் அகமகிழ்ந்து, இஸ்ரயேலின் பரிசுத்தரில் மேன்மை அடைவாய்.
17 The poor and the needy are seeking water, And there is none, Their tongue has failed with thirst, I, YHWH, answer them, The God of Israel—I do not forsake them.
“ஏழைகளும், எளியவர்களும் தண்ணீரைத் தேடுவார்கள்; ஆனால் அங்கு ஒன்றுமிராது. அவர்களின் நாவுகள் தாகத்தினால் வறண்டுபோகும். ஆனால் யெகோவாவாகிய நான் அவர்களுக்குப் பதிலளிப்பேன்; இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய நான் அவர்களைக் கைவிடமாட்டேன்.
18 I open rivers on high places, And fountains in midst of valleys, I make a wilderness become a pond of water, And a dry land becomes springs of water.
நான் வறண்ட மேடுகளில் ஆறுகளையும், பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் நீரூற்றுக்களையும் உண்டாக்குவேன். பாலைவனத்தை நீர்த்தடாகமாகவும், வறண்ட நிலத்தை நீரூற்றுகளாகவும் மாற்றுவேன்.
19 I give in a wilderness the cedar, Shittah, and myrtle, and oil-tree, I set in a desert the fir-pine and box-wood together.
நான் பாலைவனத்திலே கேதுருக்களையும், சித்தீம் மரங்களையும், மிருதுச் செடிகளையும், ஒலிவ மரங்களையும் நாட்டுவேன். பாழ்நிலங்களில் தேவதாரு மரங்களையும், சவுக்கு மரங்களையும், புன்னை மரங்களையும் நான் சேர்த்து நாட்டுவேன்.
20 So that they see, and know, And regard, and act wisely together, For the hand of YHWH has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it.
யெகோவாவின் கரம்தான் இப்படிச் செய்தது, இஸ்ரயேலின் பரிசுத்தரே இவற்றை உண்டாக்கினார் என்று, மக்கள் பார்த்து அறிந்துகொள்ளவும், சிந்தித்து விளங்கிக்கொள்ளவுமே இப்படிச் செய்வேன்.
21 Bring your cause near, says YHWH, Bring your mighty ones near, says the King of Jacob.
“உங்கள் வழக்கைச் சொல்லுங்கள்” என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார். “உங்களுடைய நியாயங்களை எடுத்துக் கூறுங்கள்” என்று யாக்கோபின் அரசர் சொல்கிறார்.
22 They bring [them] near, and declare to us that which happens, Declare the first things—what they [are], And we set our heart, and know their latter end, Or cause us to hear the coming things.
“உங்களுடைய விக்கிரகங்களைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள், இனி நடக்கப் போகிறதை அவை தெரிவிக்கட்டும். முன்பு நடந்தவற்றை அவை எங்களுக்குச் சொல்லட்டும், அப்பொழுது நாம் அவைகளைச் சிந்தித்து, அவைகளின் முடிவுகளை அறிவோம், அல்லது இனி நடக்கப்போவதை அவை தெரிவிக்கட்டும்.
23 Declare the things that are coming hereafter, And we know that you [are] gods, Indeed, you may do good or do evil, And we look around and see [it] together.
நீங்கள்தான் தெய்வங்கள் என்று நாம் அறியும்படி, இனி நடக்கப்போவதை எங்களுக்குத் தெரிவியுங்கள்; நல்லதோ, கெட்டதோ எதையேனும் செய்யுங்கள். அப்பொழுது நாங்கள் கலங்கி, பயத்தால் நிரப்பப்படுவோம்.
24 Behold, you [are] of nothing, and your work of nothing, An abomination—it fixes on you.
ஆனால் நீங்களோ, வெறுமையிலும் வெறுமையானவர்கள். உங்கள் செயல்களெல்லாம் முற்றிலும் பயனற்றவை, உங்களைத் தெரிந்தெடுப்பவன் அருவருப்பானவன்.
25 I have stirred up [one] from the north, And he comes, From the rising of the sun he calls in My Name, And he comes in [on] prefects as [on] clay, And as a potter treads down mire.
“நான் வடக்கிலிருந்து ஒருவனை எழும்பப் பண்ணியிருக்கிறேன்; அவன் வருகிறான். அவன் சூரிய உதயத்தில் இருந்து என் பெயரைச்சொல்லிக் கூப்பிடுகிறான். அவன் ஆளுநர்களை சுண்ணாம்புக் கலவையைப்போல் மிதிக்கிறான்; குயவன் களிமண்ணை மிதித்துத் துவைப்பதுபோல் அவர்களை மிதிக்கிறான்.
26 Who has declared from the first, and we know? And formerly, and we say, “Righteous?” Indeed, there is none declaring, Indeed, there is none proclaiming, Indeed, there is none hearing your sayings.
இதை நாம் அறியும்படியாக ஆதியில் சொன்னது யார்? அல்லது, ‘அவர் சொன்னது சரி’ என்று நாம் சொல்லும்படியாக இதை முன்பே கூறியது யார்? இதைக்குறித்து ஒருவருமே சொல்லவில்லை; ஒருவருமே முன்னறிவிக்கவுமில்லை, உங்களிடமிருந்து ஒரு வார்த்தையையும் கேட்டவர்களும் இல்லை.
27 First to Zion, Behold, behold them, And to Jerusalem I give one proclaiming tidings,
‘இதோ, அவர்கள் வருகிறார்கள்’ என்று நானே சீயோனிடம் முதன் முதலாகச் சொன்னேன். நானே நற்செய்தியின் தூதுவனை எருசலேமுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன்.
28 And I see that there is no man, Indeed, of these that there is no counselor, And I ask them, and they return word:
தெய்வங்களுக்குள்ளே நான் பார்த்தேன், ஆனால் அங்கு ஒருவருமில்லை. ஆலோசனை கூற அவர்களில் ஒருவரும் இல்லை, நான் கேட்கும்போது எனக்கு விடையளிக்கவும் ஒருவரும் இல்லை.
29 “Behold, all of them [are] vanity, Their works [are] nothing, Their molten images [are] wind and emptiness!”
இதோ, இவர்கள் எல்லோருமே மாயை! அவர்களின் செயல்கள் வீணானவை; அவர்களின் உருவச்சிலைகள் காற்றும் வெறுமையுமே.
