< Isaiah 41 >
1 Keep silent toward Me, O islands, And the peoples pass on [to] power, They come near, then they speak, “Together we draw near to judgment.”
“Peyi kot lanmè yo, koute Mwen an silans e kite pèp yo renouvele fòs yo. Kite yo vin parèt pa devan, konsa, kite yo pale. Annou reyini ansanm pou fè jijman.
2 Who stirred up a righteous one from the east? He calls him to His foot, He gives nations before him, And He causes him to rule kings, He gives [them] as dust [to] his sword, As driven stubble [to] his bow.
Li livre nasyon yo devan li e Li fè wa yo soumèt; li fè yo tankou pousyè ak nepe li, tankou pay k ap chase pa van devan banza li.
3 He pursues them, he passes over in safety A path he does not enter with his feet.
Li kouri dèyè yo, e Li pase san danje, menm nan yon chemen kote li pa t konn pase ak pye li.
4 Who has worked and done, Calling the generations from the first? I, YHWH, the first, and with the last I [am] He.
5 Islands have seen and fear, The ends of the earth tremble, They have drawn near, indeed, they come.
Peyi kot yo te wè e yo gen lakrent; dènye pwent latè yo tranble. Yo rapwoche; yo rive.
6 They each help his neighbor, And to his brother he says, “Be strong.”
Chak moun ap ede vwazen li. Yo di a frè yo: “Pran kouraj!”
7 And an artisan strengthens the refiner, A smoother [with] a hammer, Him who is beating [on] an anvil, saying, “For joining it [is] good,” And he strengthens it with nails, it is not moved!
Konsa, bòs atizan an ankouraje bòs fonn metal la. Sila ki fè metal vin poli ak mato a ankouraje sila k ap bat fè a. Li di a sila k ap soude a: “Li bon”. Li kloure li ak klou pou l rete nan plas li.
8 And you, O Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, Seed of Abraham, My lover,
Men ou menm, O Israël, sèvitè Mwen an, Jacob ke M te chwazi a, desandan Abraham nan, zami Mwen an;
9 Whom I have taken hold of, from the ends of the earth, And from its near places I have called you, And I say to you, You [are] My servant, I have chosen you, and not rejected you.
ou menm, ke M te pran soti nan tout ekstremite latè yo, e te rele soti nan kote pi izole yo pou te di ou: ‘Ou se sèvitè Mwen. Mwen te chwazi ou e Mwen pa t rejte ou.’
10 Do not be afraid, for I [am] with you, do not look around, for I [am] your God, I have strengthened you, Indeed, I have helped you, indeed, I upheld you, With the right hand of My righteousness.
Anverite Mwen va bay ou soutyen ak men ladwati, men dwat Mwen.
11 Behold, all those displeased with you, They are ashamed and blush, They are as nothing, indeed, The men who strive with you perish.
Gade byen, tout sila ki fache ak ou yo va vin wont e dezonore. Sila k ap pran pòz kont ou yo va vin konsi se pa anyen e yo va peri.
12 You seek them, and do not find them, The men who debate with you, They are as nothing, indeed, as nothing, The men who war with you.
Ou va chache sila k ap fè pwoblèm ak ou yo, men ou p ap jwenn yo. Sila ki fè lagè ak ou yo va vin konsi se pa anyen e yo p ap egziste ankò.
13 For I, your God YHWH, Am strengthening your right hand, He who is saying to you, “Do not fear, I have helped you.”
Paske Mwen se SENYÈ a, Bondye ou a, ki soutni men dwat Ou, ki di ou, pa pè, Mwen va ba ou sekou.
14 Do not fear, O worm Jacob, You men of Israel, I helped you, a declaration of YHWH, Even your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
“Pinga ou pè, ou menm, vètè Jacob la, nou menm mesye Israël yo. Mwen va ede nou”, deklare SENYÈ a. “Redanmtè ou a se Sila Ki Sen an Israël la.
15 Behold, I have set you for a new sharp threshing instrument, Possessing teeth, you thresh mountains, And beat small, and make hills as chaff.
16 You winnow them, and a wind lifts them up, And a whirlwind scatters them, And you rejoice in YHWH, [And] boast yourself in the Holy One of Israel.
Ou va vannen yo; van a va pote yo ale e tanpèt va gaye yo. Men ou va rejwi nan SENYÈ a; ou va fè lwanj Sila Ki Sen an Israël la.
17 The poor and the needy are seeking water, And there is none, Their tongue has failed with thirst, I, YHWH, answer them, The God of Israel—I do not forsake them.
Aflije yo ak malere yo ap chache dlo, men nanpwen; lang yo sèch ak swaf la. Mwen menm, SENYÈ a, va reponn yo. Mwen, Bondye Israël la p ap abandone yo.
18 I open rivers on high places, And fountains in midst of valleys, I make a wilderness become a pond of water, And a dry land becomes springs of water.
Mwen va ouvri rivyè yo sou wotè ki vid yo ak sous nan mitan vale yo. Mwen va fè dezè a vin yon letan dlo, e tè sèch la yon fontèn dlo.
19 I give in a wilderness the cedar, Shittah, and myrtle, and oil-tree, I set in a desert the fir-pine and box-wood together.
Mwen va plase pye sèd nan dezè a, pye akasya, ak pye jasmen ak pye doliv. Mwen va mete pye pichpen nan dezè a ansanm ak pye bwadòm;
20 So that they see, and know, And regard, and act wisely together, For the hand of YHWH has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it.
pou yo ka wè, vin rekonèt, reflechi e ranmase bon konprann ansanm, ke men SENYÈ a te fè sa, ke Sila Ki Sen an Israël te kreye li a.
21 Bring your cause near, says YHWH, Bring your mighty ones near, says the King of Jacob.
“Prezante ka nou yo”, pale SENYÈ a. “Pote gwo diskou nou yo”, pale Wa a Jacob la.
22 They bring [them] near, and declare to us that which happens, Declare the first things—what they [are], And we set our heart, and know their latter end, Or cause us to hear the coming things.
Mennen fè yo vin parèt e deklare a nou menm sa ki va rive! Epi pou evenman lontan yo, deklare kisa yo te ye, pou nou ka konsidere yo, e konnen kijan y ap sòti. Oswa, anonse a nou menm sa k ap vini an.
23 Declare the things that are coming hereafter, And we know that you [are] gods, Indeed, you may do good or do evil, And we look around and see [it] together.
Deklare bagay ki va vin rive apre yo, pou nou ka konnen ke se dye nou ye. Anverite, fè byen, oswa fè mal, pou nou ka gade toupatou ansanm ak kè twouble.
24 Behold, you [are] of nothing, and your work of nothing, An abomination—it fixes on you.
Gade byen, nou pou ryen e zèv nou yo pa pou anyen. Sila ki pito nou an se yon abominnasyon.
25 I have stirred up [one] from the north, And he comes, From the rising of the sun he calls in My Name, And he comes in [on] prefects as [on] clay, And as a potter treads down mire.
Mwen te fè leve yon moun soti nan nò e li vin parèt; depi nan solèy leve a, li va rele non Mwen; li va vini sou chèf yo, kon sou mòtye, tankou bòs kanari mache sou ajil.
26 Who has declared from the first, and we know? And formerly, and we say, “Righteous?” Indeed, there is none declaring, Indeed, there is none proclaiming, Indeed, there is none hearing your sayings.
27 First to Zion, Behold, behold them, And to Jerusalem I give one proclaiming tidings,
Mwen se premye pou di a Sion: ‘Men vwala, men yo la;’ epi a Jérusalem: ‘Mwen va voye yon mesaje bòn nouvèl’.
28 And I see that there is no man, Indeed, of these that there is no counselor, And I ask them, and they return word:
Men lè M gade, nanpwen pèsòn e pa gen konseye pami yo, ki, si M te mande, ta kapab bay yon repons.
29 “Behold, all of them [are] vanity, Their works [are] nothing, Their molten images [are] wind and emptiness!”
Gade byen, yo tout fo. Zèv yo san valè. Imaj fonn yo se van ak konfizyon.
