Isaiah 37
1 And it comes to pass, at King Hezekiah’s hearing, that he tears his garments, and covers himself with sackcloth, and enters the house of YHWH,
ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവു അതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ വസ്ത്രം കീറി രട്ടുടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.
2 and sends Eliakim, who [is] over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and [the] elderly of the priests, covering themselves with sackcloth, to Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet,
പിന്നെ അവൻ രാജധാനിവിചാരകൻ എല്യാക്കീമിനെയും രായസക്കാരൻ ശെബ്നയെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരിൽ മൂപ്പന്മാരെയും രട്ടുടുത്തവരായി ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.
3 and they say to him, “Thus said Hezekiah: A day of distress, and rebuke, and despising, [is] this day; for sons have come to the birth, and there is not power to bear.
അവർ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു: ഇതു കഷ്ടവും ശാസനയും നിന്ദയും ഉള്ള ദിവസമത്രേ; കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ ജനിപ്പാറായിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രസവിപ്പാനോ ശക്തിയില്ല.
4 It may be your God YHWH hears the words of Rabshakeh with which the king of Asshur his lord has sent him to reproach the living God, and has decided concerning the words that your God YHWH has heard, and you have lifted up prayer for the remnant that is found.”
ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിപ്പാൻ രബ്-ശാക്കേയെ അവന്റെ യജമാനനായ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു അയച്ചു പറയിക്കുന്ന വാക്കു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ പക്ഷേ കേൾക്കും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കിന്നു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യും; ആകയാൽ ഇനിയും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പക്ഷവാദം കഴിക്കേണമേ.
5 And the servants of King Hezekiah come to Isaiah,
ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ യെശയ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ യെശയ്യാവു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു:
6 and Isaiah says to them, “Thus you say to your lord, Thus said YHWH: Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Asshur have reviled Me.
നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ എന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചതായി നീ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കു നിമിത്തം ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ.
7 Behold, I am giving a spirit in him, and he has heard a report, and has turned back to his land, and I have caused him to fall by the sword in his land.”
ഞാൻ അവന്നു ഒരു മനോവിഭ്രമം വരുത്തും; അവൻ ഒരു ശ്രുതി കേട്ടിട്ടു സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ അവനെ അവന്റെ സ്വന്തദേശത്തുവെച്ചു വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴുമാറാക്കും.
8 And Rabshakeh turns back and finds the king of Asshur fighting against Libnah, for he has heard that he has journeyed from Lachish.
രബ്-ശാക്കേ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ലിബ്നയുടെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവൻ ലാക്കീശ് വിട്ടുപോയി എന്നു അവൻ കേട്ടിരുന്നു.
9 And he hears concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, saying, “He has come out to fight with you”; and he hears, and sends messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
എന്നാൽ കൂശ്‌രാജാവയ തിർഹാക്ക തന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധംചെയ്‌വാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവൻ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു കല്പിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
10 “Thus you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Do not let your God in whom you are trusting lift you up, saying, Jerusalem is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.
നിങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: യെരൂശലേം അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുകളകയില്ല എന്നു നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം നിന്നെ ചതിക്കരുതു.
11 Behold, you have heard that which the kings of Asshur have done to all the lands—to devote them—and you are delivered!
അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാർ സകലദേശങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്തതും അവെക്കു ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തിയതും നീ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; നീ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുമോ?
12 Did the gods of the nations deliver them whom my fathers destroyed—Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who [are] in Telassar?
ഗോസാൻ, ഹാരാൻ, രേസെഫ, തെലസ്സാരിലെ ഏദേന്യർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാർ അവരെ വിടുവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?
13 Where [is] the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah?”
ഹമാത്ത് രാജാവും അർപ്പാദ്‌രാജാവും സെഫർവ്വയീംപട്ടണം, ഹേന, ഇവ്വ എന്നിവെക്കു രാജാവായിരുന്നവനും എവിടെ?
14 And Hezekiah takes the letters out of the hand of the messengers, and reads them, and Hezekiah goes up to the house of YHWH, and Hezekiah spreads it before YHWH.
ഹിസ്കീയാവു ദൂതന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു എഴുത്തു വാങ്ങി വായിച്ചു; ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അതു വിടർത്തു.
15 And Hezekiah prays to YHWH, saying,
ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
16 “YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel, inhabiting the cherubim, You [are] God Himself—You alone—to all kingdoms of the earth, You have made the heavens and the earth.
യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായി കെരൂബുകളുടെ മീതെ അധിവസിക്കുന്നവനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, നീ ഒരുത്തൻ മാത്രം ഭൂമിയിലെ സർവ്വരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ദൈവമാകുന്നു; നീ ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.
17 Incline, O YHWH, Your ear, and hear; open, O YHWH, Your eyes and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib that he has sent to reproach the living God.
യഹോവേ, ചെവി ചായിച്ചു കേൾക്കേണമേ; യഹോവേ, തൃക്കണ്ണു തുറന്നു നോക്കേണമേ; ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിപ്പാൻ ആളയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സൻഹേരീബിന്റെ വാക്കു ഒക്കെയും കേൾക്കേണമേ.
18 Truly, O YHWH, kings of Asshur have laid waste all the lands and their land,
യഹോവേ, അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാർ സർവ്വജാതികളെയും അവരുടെ ദേശത്തെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കി,
19 so as to put their gods into fire—for they [are] no gods, but work of the hands of man, wood and stone—and they destroy them.
അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ തീയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞതു സത്യം തന്നേ; അവ ദേവന്മാരല്ല, മനുഷ്യരുടെ കൈപ്പണിയായ മരവും കല്ലും മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; ആകയാൽ അവർ അവയെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
20 And now, our God YHWH, save us from his hand, and all kingdoms of the earth know that You [are] YHWH, You alone.”
ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ ഒരുത്തൻ മാത്രം യഹോവ എന്നു ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളും അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.
21 And Isaiah son of Amoz sends to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: That which you have prayed to Me concerning Sennacherib king of Asshur—
ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നീ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ സൻഹേരീബ് നിമിത്തം എന്നോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു,
22 this [is] the word that YHWH spoke concerning him: Trampled on you, laughed at you, Has the virgin daughter of Zion, The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken the head behind you.
അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം ആവിതു: സീയോൻ പുത്രിയായ കന്യക നിന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചു പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേംപുത്രി നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ തല കുലുക്കുന്നു.
23 Whom have you reproached and reviled? And against whom—lifted up the voice? Indeed, you lift up your eyes on high Against the Holy One of Israel.
നീ ആരെയാകുന്നു നിന്ദിച്ചു ദുഷിച്ചതു? ആർക്കു വിരോധമായിട്ടാകുന്നു നീ ഒച്ച പൊക്കുകയും തല ഉന്നതമായി ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്തതു? യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന്നു വിരോധമായിട്ടു തന്നെയല്ലോ?
24 By the hand of your servants You have reviled the Lord, and say: In the multitude of my chariots I have come up to a high place of hills, The sides of Lebanon, And I cut down the height of its cedars, The choice of its firs, And I enter the high place of its extremity, The forest of its Carmel.
നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം നീ കർത്താവിനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു; എന്റെ അസംഖ്യരഥങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഞാൻ മലമുകളിലും ലെബാനോന്റെ ശിഖരങ്ങളിലും കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ പൊക്കമുള്ള ദേവദാരുക്കളും വിശേഷമായ സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഞാൻ മുറിക്കും; അതിന്റെ അറ്റത്തെ കൊടുമുടിവരെയും അതിന്റെ ചെഴിപ്പുള്ള കാടുവരെയും ഞാൻ കടന്നുചെല്ലും;
25 I have dug and drunk waters, And I dry up with the sole of my steps All floods of a bulwark.
ഞാൻ വെള്ളം കുഴിച്ചെടുത്തു കുടിക്കും; എന്റെ കാലടികളാൽ മിസ്രയീമിലെ സകലനദികളെയും വറ്റിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26 Have you not heard from afar [that] I did it, From days of old—that I formed it? Now I have brought it in, And it is to make desolate, Ruinous heaps—fortified cities,
ഞാൻ പണ്ടുപണ്ടേ അതിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; പൂർവ്വകാലത്തു തന്നേ അതിനെ നിർമ്മിച്ചു എന്നു നീ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലയോ? നീ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളെ മുടിച്ചു ശൂന്യകൂമ്പാരങ്ങളാക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ സംഗതി വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
27 And their inhabitants are feeble-handed, They were broken down, and are dried up. They have been the herb of the field, And the greenness of the tender grass, Grass of the roofs, And blasted grain, before it has risen up.
അതുകൊണ്ടു അവയിലെ നിവാസികൾ ദുർബ്ബലന്മാരായി വിരണ്ടു അമ്പരന്നുപോയി; അവർ വയലിലെ പുല്ലും പച്ചച്ചെടിയും പുരപ്പുറങ്ങളിലെ പുല്ലും വളരുംമുമ്പെ കരിഞ്ഞുപോയ ധാന്യവുംപോലെ ആയിത്തീർന്നു.
28 And your sitting down, and your going out, And your coming in, I have known, And your anger toward Me.
എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ ഇരിപ്പും നിന്റെ ഗമനവും ആഗമനവും എന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള നിന്റെ കോപഭ്രാന്തും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.
29 Because of your anger toward Me, And your noise—it came up into My ears, I have put My hook in your nose, And My bridle in your lips, And I have caused you to turn back In the way in which you came.
എന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള നിന്റെ കോപഭ്രാന്തുകൊണ്ടും നിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരം എന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ എന്റെ കൊളുത്തു നിന്റെ മൂക്കിലും എന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞാൺ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിലും ഇട്ടു നീ വന്ന വഴിക്കു തന്നേ നിന്നെ മടക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോകും.
30 And this [is] the sign to you, Self-sown grain [is] food of the year, And in the second year the spontaneous growth, And in the third year, sow and reap, And plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.
എന്നാൽ ഇതു നിനക്കു അടയാളമാകും: നിങ്ങൾ ഈ ആണ്ടിൽ പടുവിത്തു വിളയുന്നതും രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ താനേ കിളുർത്തുവിളയുന്നതും തിന്നും; മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ നിങ്ങൾ വിതെച്ചു കൊയ്യുകയും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കി അവയുടെ പഴം തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും.
31 And it has continued—The escaped of the house of Judah that has been left—To take root beneath, And it has made fruit upward.
യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിൽ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പു വീണ്ടും താഴേ വേരൂന്നി മീതെ ഫലം കായിക്കും.
32 For a remnant goes forth from Jerusalem, And an escape from Mount Zion, The zeal of YHWH of Hosts does this.
ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പു യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നും ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണം സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ നിന്നും പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരും; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ തീക്ഷ്ണത അതിനെ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും.
33 Therefore, thus said YHWH, Concerning the king of Asshur: He does not come into this city, Nor does he shoot an arrow there, Nor does he come before it [with] shield, Nor does he pour out a mound against it.
ആകയാൽ യഹോവ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അവൻ ഈ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു വരികയില്ല; ഒരു അമ്പു അവിടെ എയ്കയുമില്ല; അതിന്റെ നേരെ പരിചയോടുകൂടെ വരികയില്ല; അതിന്നെതിരെ വാട കോരുകയുമില്ല.
34 In the way that he came, in it he turns back, And to this city he does not come in, A declaration of YHWH,
അവൻ വന്ന വഴിക്കുതന്നേ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ഈ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു വരികയുമില്ല;
35 And I have covered over this city, To save it, for My own sake, And for the sake of My servant David.”
എന്റെ നിമിത്തവും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിമിത്തവും ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ പാലിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
36 And a messenger of YHWH goes out, and strikes in the camp of Asshur one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and [men] rise early in the morning, and behold, all of them [are] dead corpses.
എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അശ്ശൂർപാളയത്തിൽ നൂറ്റിയെണ്പത്തയ്യായിരം പേരെ കൊന്നു; ജനം രാവിലേ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ അവർ എല്ലാവരും ശവങ്ങളായി കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
37 And he journeys, and goes, and Sennacherib king of Asshur turns back, and dwells in Nineveh.
അങ്ങനെ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ സൻഹേരീബ് യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി നീനവേയിൽ പാർത്തു.
38 And it comes to pass, he is bowing himself in the house of his god Nisroch, and his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer have struck him with the sword, and they have escaped to the land of Ararat, and his son Esar-Haddon reigns in his stead.
എന്നാൽ അവൻ തന്റെ ദേവനായ നിസ്രോക്കിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ അദ്രമ്മേലെക്കും ശരേസെരും അവനെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊന്നിട്ടു അരാരാത്ത് ദേശത്തേക്കു ഓടിപ്പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ഏസർഹദ്ദോൻ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായിത്തീർന്നു.
