Isaiah 28
1 Woe [to] the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim. And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory, That [is] on the head of the fat valley of the broken down of wine.
Vai coroanei mândriei, beţivilor lui Efraim, a cărei frumuseţe glorioasă este o floare ce se vestejeşte, care este pe capul văilor grase ale celor ce sunt învinşi de vin!
2 Behold, a mighty and strong one [is] to the Lord, As a storm of hail—a destructive shower, As an inundation of mighty waters overflowing, He cast down to the earth with the hand.
Iată, Domnul are pe unul puternic şi tare, care, ca o vijelie de grindină şi o furtună distrugătoare, ca un potop de ape puternice ce se revarsă, o va doborî la pământ cu mâna.
3 The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim is trodden down by feet,
Coroana mândriei, beţivii lui Efraim, va fi călcată în picioare,
4 And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory That [is] on the head of the fat valley, Has been as its first-fruit before summer, That its beholder sees; He swallows it while it [is] yet in his hand.
Şi frumuseţea glorioasă, care este pe capul văii grase, va fi o floare ce se vestejeşte şi ca un rod timpuriu înaintea verii; pe care cel care îl priveşte, văzându[-l], îl mănâncă până îl mai are în mână.
5 In that day YHWH of Hosts is For a crown of beauty, and for a circlet of glory, To the remnant of His people.
În acea zi DOMNUL oştirilor îi va fi o coroană de glorie şi o diademă de frumuseţe pentru rămăşiţa poporului său,
6 And for a spirit of judgment To him who is sitting in the judgment, And for might [to] those turning back the battle to the gate.
Şi duh de judecată pentru cel ce şade la judecată şi tărie pentru cei ce împing bătălia înapoi la poartă.
7 And even these have erred through wine, And have wandered through strong drink, Priest and prophet erred through strong drink, They have been swallowed up of the wine, They wandered because of the strong drink, They have erred in seeing, They have stumbled judicially.
Dar ei de asemenea au rătăcit prin vin şi prin băutură tare sunt abătuţi de pe cale; preotul şi profetul au rătăcit prin băutură tare, sunt înghiţiţi de vin, sunt abătuţi de pe cale prin băutură tare; rătăcesc în viziune, se poticnesc în judecată.
8 For all tables have been full of vomit, Filth—without place!
Căci toate mesele sunt pline de vomă şi murdărie, încât nu este loc curat.
9 By whom does He teach knowledge? And by whom does He cause to understand the report? The weaned from milk, the removed from breasts,
Pe cine va învăţa el cunoaştere? şi pe cine va face să înţeleagă doctrină? [P]e [cei] înţărcaţi de lapte [şi] luaţi de la sâni.
10 For rule on rule, rule on rule, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there,
Fiindcă precept trebuie să fie peste precept, precept peste precept; rând peste rând, rând peste rând; aici puţin şi acolo puţin;
11 For by scorned lip, and by another tongue, Does He speak to this people.
Căci cu buze bâlbâite şi o altă limbă va vorbi el acestui popor.
12 To whom He has said, “This [is] the rest, give rest to the weary, And this—the refreshing”: And they have not been willing to hear,
Căruia i-a spus: Aceasta este odihna cu care să faceţi pe cel obosit să se odihnească; şi aceasta este răcorirea; totuşi ei au refuzat să asculte.
13 And to whom a word of YHWH has been, Rule on rule, rule on rule, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there, So that they go and have stumbled backward, And been broken, and snared, and captured.
Dar cuvântul DOMNULUI le-a fost precept peste precept, precept peste precept; rând peste rând, rând peste rând; aici puţin [şi] acolo puţin; ca ei să meargă şi să cadă pe spate şi să fie frânţi şi prinşi şi luaţi.
14 Therefore, hear a word of YHWH, you men of scorning, Ruling this people that [is] in Jerusalem.
De aceea ascultaţi cuvântul DOMNULUI, voi oameni batjocoritori, care domniţi peste acest popor care este în Ierusalim.
15 Because you have said: “We have made a covenant with death, And we have made a provision with Sheol, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Does not meet us, Though we have made a lie our refuge, And have been hidden in falsehood.” (Sheol h7585)
Fiindcă aţi spus: Am făcut legământ cu moartea şi cu iadul avem o înţelegere; când va trece urgia copleşitoare nu va veni la noi; căci din minciuni ne-am făcut un loc de scăpare şi ne-am ascuns sub falsitate; (Sheol h7585)
16 Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: “Behold, I am laying a foundation in Zion, A stone—a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a settled foundation, He who is believing does not make haste.
De aceea astfel spune Domnul DUMNEZEU: Iată, eu pun în Sion, ca temelie, o piatră, o piatră încercată, o preţioasă piatră unghiulară, o temelie sigură; cel ce crede nu se va grăbi.
17 And I have put judgment for a line, And righteousness for a plummet, And hail sweeps away the refuge of lies, And waters overflow the secret hiding place.
Şi voi pune judecată în frânghia de măsurat şi dreptate în firul cu plumb; şi grindina va mătura locul de scăpare al minciunilor şi apele vor inunda ascunzişul.
18 And your covenant with death has been annulled, And your provision with Sheol does not stand, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Then you have been to it for a treading-place. (Sheol h7585)
Şi legământul vostru cu moartea va fi anulat şi înţelegerea voastră cu iadul nu va rămâne în picioare; când va trece urgia copleşitoare, veţi fi călcaţi de ea. (Sheol h7585)
19 From the fullness of its passing over it takes you, For it passes over morning by morning, By day and by night, And it has been only a trembling to consider the report.
De câte ori trece, vă va lua; căci dimineaţă de dimineaţă va trece, ziua şi noaptea; şi va fi o chinuire doar ca să înţelegeţi mărturia.
20 For the bed has been shorter Than to stretch one’s self out in, And the covering has been narrower Than to wrap one’s self up in.
Fiindcă patul este mai scurt decât se poate întinde în el un om; şi acoperitoarea mai îngustă decât să se poată înveli în ea.
21 For as YHWH rises [at] Mount Perazim, As He is troubled [at] the valley in Gibeon, To do His work—strange [is] His work, And to do His deed—strange [is] His deed.”
Căci DOMNUL se va ridica precum în muntele Peraţim, se va înfuria ca în valea Gabaonului, ca să îşi facă lucrarea, lucrarea lui străină; şi să împlinească fapta lui, fapta lui neobişnuită.
22 And now, do not show yourselves scorners, Lest your bands are strong, For a consumption, that is determined, I have heard, by the Lord, YHWH of Hosts, [Is] for all the land.
Acum de aceea nu fiţi batjocoritori, ca nu cumva să vă fie întărite legăturile; căci am auzit de la Domnul DUMNEZEUL oştirilor o mistuire, hotărâtă peste tot pământul.
23 Give ear, and hear my voice, Attend, and hear my saying:
Plecaţi urechea şi ascultaţi-mi vocea; luaţi seama şi ascultaţi vorbirea mea.
24 Does the plowman plow the whole day to sow? He opens and harrows his ground!
Ară plugarul toată ziua pentru a semăna? Deschide el şi sparge brazdele pământului său?
25 Has he not, if he has made its face level, Then scattered fitches, and sprinkles cumin, And has placed the principal wheat, And the appointed barley, And the rye [in] its own border?
Când a îndreptat faţa acestuia, nu aruncă departe măzărichile şi nu împrăştie chimenul şi nu aruncă grâul în rânduri şi orzul rânduit şi alacul la locul lor?
26 And his God instructs him for judgment, He directs him.
Fiindcă Dumnezeul lui îl instruieşte spre discernere şi îl învaţă.
27 For fitches are not threshed with a sharp-pointed thing, And the wheel of a cart turned around on cumin, For fitches are beaten out with a staff, And cumin with a rod.
Căci măzărichile nu se vântură cu o unealtă ascuţită, nici roată de căruţ nu se întoarce peste chimen, ci măzărichile sunt bătute cu un toiag şi chimenul cu o nuia.
28 Bread-[grain] is beaten small, For he does not severely thresh it forever, Nor has a wheel of his cart crushed [it], Nor do his hooves beat it small.
Grânele de pâine sunt măcinate, deoarece nu le va vântura pentru totdeauna; nici nu le va sfărâma cu roata carului său, nici nu le va măcina cu călăreţii lui.
29 Even this from YHWH of Hosts has gone out, He has made counsel wonderful, He has made wisdom great!
Aceasta de asemenea vine de la DOMNUL oştirilor, care este minunat în sfat [şi] măreţ în lucrare.
