< Isaiah 28 >

1 Woe [to] the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim. And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory, That [is] on the head of the fat valley of the broken down of wine.
Hankàñe amy sabaka-pisengea’ o mpijike’ i Efraimeoy, naho amy fihearam-boñe’e nifanjaka ami’ty hatsomerentsere’ey, i an-doham-bavatane vondra’ o niopo-divaioy.
2 Behold, a mighty and strong one [is] to the Lord, As a storm of hail—a destructive shower, As an inundation of mighty waters overflowing, He cast down to the earth with the hand.
Heheke te manañe ty maozatse naho ty fatratse t’i Talè, hoe tio-bein-kavandran-gadaboñe, tangololahy mampianto, hoe fisorotombahan-drano mienene, ty hamokovokoam-pita’e aze an-kasiahañe mb’an-tane mb’eo.
3 The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim is trodden down by feet,
Ho lialiàm-pandia i sabaka niebotsebora’ o mpijike mena’ i Efraimeoy.
4 And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory That [is] on the head of the fat valley, Has been as its first-fruit before summer, That its beholder sees; He swallows it while it [is] yet in his hand.
Le i voñe an-doham-bavatane vondrakey ro hIheatse amy hasoa-vinta’ey, naho i sakoa loham-boan’ asaray, ie vata’e isake naho am-pità’e ao, ro habotse’e.
5 In that day YHWH of Hosts is For a crown of beauty, and for a circlet of glory, To the remnant of His people.
Iehovà’ i Màroy ty ho halam- boñem-bolonahetse amy andro zay, Sabaka fanjaka ho a’ ondaty sehanga’eo;
6 And for a spirit of judgment To him who is sitting in the judgment, And for might [to] those turning back the battle to the gate.
naho ty arofo tò amy miambesatse an-jakay, Vaho haozarañe ho amo manebañe i hotakotake an-dalam-beiy.
7 And even these have erred through wine, And have wandered through strong drink, Priest and prophet erred through strong drink, They have been swallowed up of the wine, They wandered because of the strong drink, They have erred in seeing, They have stumbled judicially.
Avembèn-divay naho ampidaleandaleañen-toake ka retoañe: ampisiotsioren-toake ty mpisoroñe naho ty mpitoky; alihen-divay iereo, avembèn-toake; mitoantoañe añ’aroñaroñe iereo, mikolitrekolitre t’ie mizaka.
8 For all tables have been full of vomit, Filth—without place!
Kanao lifo-deotse naho loa o fandambañañeo, le tsy aman-toetse malio ka.
9 By whom does He teach knowledge? And by whom does He cause to understand the report? The weaned from milk, the removed from breasts,
Ia ty hañòha’e hilala, naho ia ty hampalangese’e i taliliy? O vaho notàñe amy rononoio hao? O vaho nasitake am-patroao hao?
10 For rule on rule, rule on rule, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there,
Fa, fañè manovom-pañè, fañè am-pañè, patetse am-patetse, patetse am-patetse, kede atoy, kede aroy.
11 For by scorned lip, and by another tongue, Does He speak to this people.
Toe am-pivimby mibedobedo, naho am-pamelen’ ambahiny, ty hisaontsia’e am’ondatio,
12 To whom He has said, “This [is] the rest, give rest to the weary, And this—the refreshing”: And they have not been willing to hear,
ie nanoeñe ty hoe: Fitofàñe toy; ampitofa o mokotseo; zao o fanintsiñañeo; fe tsy nañaoñe iereo.
13 And to whom a word of YHWH has been, Rule on rule, rule on rule, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there, So that they go and have stumbled backward, And been broken, and snared, and captured.
Aa le hoe ty hitsara’ Iehovà: Fañè tovoñam-pañè, fañè am-pañè, patetse am-patetse, patetse am-patetse, kede ty atoy, kede ty aroy. Soa te ie mandeha iereo ro hitoboly, ho pozaheñe, ho fandriheñe, vaho ho tavaneñe.
14 Therefore, hear a word of YHWH, you men of scorning, Ruling this people that [is] in Jerusalem.
Aa le janjiño ty tsara’ Iehovà ry mpanivetive mifeleke ondaty e Ierosalaime ao retoa.
15 Because you have said: “We have made a covenant with death, And we have made a provision with Sheol, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Does not meet us, Though we have made a lie our refuge, And have been hidden in falsehood.” (Sheol h7585)
Ami’ty natao’ areo ty hoe: nilahatse amy Havilasiy zahay, vaho nifañina amy Tsikeokeokey; le ie misoroke atoy ty kiria mamaoke le tsy homb’ama’ay izay; fa ipalira’ay ty fandañirañe, itsoloha’ay i remborake; (Sheol h7585)
16 Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: “Behold, I am laying a foundation in Zion, A stone—a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a settled foundation, He who is believing does not make haste.
Aa le hoe t’i Talè Iehovà: Heheke te mampipoke faham-bato e Tsione eo iraho, vato tsinòke; vaton-kotsoke sarotse, soa fijadoñe; Tsy ho tsòtseke ty mpiato ama’e.
17 And I have put judgment for a line, And righteousness for a plummet, And hail sweeps away the refuge of lies, And waters overflow the secret hiding place.
Hanoeko talim-panjeheañe ty hatò, naho havantañañe ty fampimiràñe, ho faopaohen-kavandra ty fipaliram-bodiake, vaho handoparan-drano i fiampirañey.
18 And your covenant with death has been annulled, And your provision with Sheol does not stand, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Then you have been to it for a treading-place. (Sheol h7585)
Ho mongoreñe ty fañina’ areo amy Havilasy, tsy hijadoñe ty filahara’ areo amy Tsikeokeoke; ie mitoañe mb’eo ty kiria mamaoke, le ho lialià’e nahareo. (Sheol h7585)
19 From the fullness of its passing over it takes you, For it passes over morning by morning, By day and by night, And it has been only a trembling to consider the report.
Ndra mbiambia ty hirangà’e, le ho fihine’e nahareo, fa boak’ andro ty hitoaña’e, handro an-kale; vaho ho vata’e maharevendreveñe ty andrendrehañe ty tali’e.
20 For the bed has been shorter Than to stretch one’s self out in, And the covering has been narrower Than to wrap one’s self up in.
Loho bory ty fandreañe, tsy mete ihitsiañe, kede ty am-pohe’ i bodoy tsy mete isafononohañe.
21 For as YHWH rises [at] Mount Perazim, As He is troubled [at] the valley in Gibeon, To do His work—strange [is] His work, And to do His deed—strange [is] His deed.”
Hiongake hoe tam-bohi-Peratsime t’Iehovà, hitroñe manahake tam-bohi’ i Gibone, hanoe’e ty fitoloña’e —tolon-draha boidy, hihentseña’e ty sata’e—sata àlike!
22 And now, do not show yourselves scorners, Lest your bands are strong, For a consumption, that is determined, I have heard, by the Lord, YHWH of Hosts, [Is] for all the land.
Ie amy zao, apoho ty fanivetiveañe, hera ho fihineñe o tali-randra’ areoo, fa tsinanoko amy Talè, Iehovà’ i Màroy te nitseizeñe fandrotsahañe ty tane bey toy
23 Give ear, and hear my voice, Attend, and hear my saying:
Mijanjiña naho tsendreño ty feoko; haoño vaho janjiño o entakoo.
24 Does the plowman plow the whole day to sow? He opens and harrows his ground!
Mitrabake nainai’e hao ty mpitongy? ho troboe’e naho ho fantaña’e nainai’e hao i taney?
25 Has he not, if he has made its face level, Then scattered fitches, and sprinkles cumin, And has placed the principal wheat, And the appointed barley, And the rye [in] its own border?
Ie fa nampirae’e i taney, tsy handraraha’e vañemba hao naho amitseza’e vihinja? Tongise’e am-piriritañe ty vare-bolè, le an-toe’e eo ty vare-horodè, vaho añ’olotse ey ty kosemete.
26 And his God instructs him for judgment, He directs him.
Amy t’ie anareko hisafiry, mañòke aze t’i Andrianañahare’e.
27 For fitches are not threshed with a sharp-pointed thing, And the wheel of a cart turned around on cumin, For fitches are beaten out with a staff, And cumin with a rod.
Tsy lisanem-baoñe ty vañemba, tsy aodiñ’ an-daròn-tsarete ty vihinja, fe kimokimohen-doda ty vañemba naho lisaneñ’ akalo ty vihinja.
28 Bread-[grain] is beaten small, For he does not severely thresh it forever, Nor has a wheel of his cart crushed [it], Nor do his hooves beat it small.
Demoheñe ty vare-bolè hanoañe mofo, fa tsy lisaneñe nainai’e, eo ty mandialia aze an-tsarete reketse soavala ambone’e eo, fe tsy hotomomohe’e.
29 Even this from YHWH of Hosts has gone out, He has made counsel wonderful, He has made wisdom great!
Boak’ am’ Iehovà’ i Màroy ka izay, miambake ty fanoroa’e, tsy amañ’ohatse ty hihi’e.
