< Isaiah 13 >

1 The burden of Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz has seen:
Amos babarima Yesaia adehunu a ɛfa Babilonia ho nie:
2 “Lift up an ensign on a high mountain, Raise the voice to them, wave the hand, And they go into the openings of nobles.
Pagya frankaa wɔ bepɔ a hwee nni soɔ no atifi, teaam frɛ wɔn: nyama wɔn ma wɔn nhyɛne atitire no apono mu.
3 I have given charge to My sanctified ones, Also I have called My mighty ones for My anger, Those rejoicing at My excellence.”
Mahyɛ mʼahotefoɔ; mafrɛ mʼakofoɔ sɛ wɔnna mʼabufuhyeɛ adi, wɔn a wɔdi me nkonimdie ho ahurisie.
4 A voice of a multitude in the mountains, A likeness of a numerous people, A voice of noise from the kingdoms of nations who are gathered, YHWH of Hosts inspecting a host of battle!
Tie hooyɛ bi a ɛwɔ mmepɔ no so te sɛ nnipa dɔm bebree deɛ! Tie akasakasa a ɛwɔ ahennie ahodoɔ mu, te sɛ amanaman a wɔreboaboa wɔn ho ano! Asafo Awurade reboa ɛdɔm ano akɔ ɔko.
5 They are coming in from a far-off land, From the end of the heavens, YHWH and the instruments of His indignation, To destroy all the land.
Wɔfifiri akyirikyiri aman so, wɔfirifiri ɔsoro ahyeɛ so, Awurade ne nʼakodeɛ a ɛyɛ nʼabufuhyeɛ; bɛsɛe ɔman no nyinaa.
6 Howl, for the Day of YHWH [is] near, It comes as destruction from the Mighty.
Twa adwo, na Awurade da no abɛn; ɛbɛba te sɛ ɔsɛeɛ a ɛfiri Otumfoɔ no.
7 Therefore, all hands fail, And every heart of man melts.
Yei enti, nsa nyinaa bɛdwodwo, obiara akoma bɛboto.
8 And they have been troubled, Pains and pangs take them, They are pained as a travailing woman, A man marvels at his friend, The appearance of flames—their faces!
Wɔbɛbɔ hunu, ɔyea ne apinisie bɛkuta wɔn; wɔbɛnukanuka wɔn mu te sɛ ɔbaa a awoɔ aka no. Wɔde abasamutuo bɛhwɛ wɔn ho wɔn ho anim, a wɔn ani asosɔ ogya.
9 Behold, the Day of YHWH comes, Fierce, with wrath, and heat of anger, To make the land become a desolation, Indeed, He destroys its sinning ones from it.
Hwɛ, Awurade da no reba ɛda bɔne a abufuo ne abufuhyeɛ wɔ mu, ɛrebɛsɛe asase no na asɛe abɔnefoɔ a wɔte soɔ no.
10 For the stars of the heavens, and their constellations, Do not cause their light to shine, The sun has been darkened in its going out, And the moon does not cause its light to come forth.
Ɔsoro nsoromma ne wɔn akuo renhyerɛn. Esum bɛduru owia a ɛrepue na ɔsrane nso renhyerɛn.
11 “And I have appointed evil on the world, And on the wicked their iniquity, And have caused the excellence of the proud to cease, And I make the excellence of the terrible low.
Mɛtwe ewiase aso, ne bɔne enti, ne amumuyɛfoɔ wɔ wɔn nnebɔne ho. Mɛtwa ahantanfoɔ ahomasoɔ so na mabrɛ deɛ ɔdi awurukasɛm no ahantan ase.
12 I make man more rare than fine gold, And a common man than pure gold of Ophir.
Mɛma onipa ho ayɛ na asene sika kɔkɔɔ amapa; ɔbɛsene Ofir sikakɔkɔɔ.
13 Therefore I cause the heavens to tremble, And the earth shakes from its place, In the wrath of YHWH of Hosts, And in a day of the heat of His anger.
Enti mɛma ɔsoro awoso; na asase ahinhim wɔ ne siberɛ wɔ Asafo Awurade abufuhyeɛ ano, nʼabufuhyeɛ da no.
14 And it has been, as a roe driven away, And as a flock that has no gatherer, Each to his people—they turn, And each to his land—they flee.
Sɛdeɛ ɔwansane a ɔbɔmmɔfoɔ repɛ no akum no dwane, anaasɛ nnwan a wɔnni ɔhwɛfoɔ yera kwan, saa ara na obiara bɛdwane akɔhwehwɛ ne nkurɔfoɔ. Obiara bɛdwane akɔ nʼasase so.
15 Everyone who is found is thrust through, And everyone who is added falls by sword.
Obiara a wɔbɛfa no dedua no, wɔbɛwɔ no akofena akum no; wɔn a wɔbɛkyere wɔn no nyinaa bɛtɔ wɔ akofena ano.
16 And their sucklings are dashed to pieces before their eyes, Their houses are spoiled, and their wives lain with.
Wɔbɛtoto nkokoaa ahwehwe fam wɔ wɔn anim: wɔbɛfom wɔn afie mu nneɛma na wɔato wɔn yerenom monnaa.
17 Behold, I am stirring up the Medes against them, Who do not esteem silver, And gold—they do not delight in it.
Hwɛ, mɛhwanyan Mediafoɔ atia wɔn, wɔn na wɔmfa dwetɛ nyɛ hwee na wɔn ani nnye sikakɔkɔɔ ho.
18 And bows dash young men to pieces, And they do not pity the fruit of the womb, Their eye has no pity on sons.
Wɔn tadua bɛbobɔ mmeranteɛ ahwehwe fam; wɔrenhunu nkokoaa mmɔbɔ na wɔrennya ayamhyehyeɛ mma mmɔfra.
19 And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, The glory, the excellence of the Chaldeans, Has been as overthrown by God, With Sodom and with Gomorrah.
Babilonia, ahennie ahodoɔ mu ɔbohemaa, animuonyamdeɛ a Babiloniafoɔ de hoahoa wɔn ho no, Onyankopɔn bɛdane abutu te sɛ Sodom ne Gomora.
20 She does not sit forever, Nor continue to many generations, Nor does Arab pitch tent there, And shepherds do not lie down there.
Nnipa rentena hɔ bio awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ nyinaa mu; Arabni biara rensi ne ntomadan wɔ hɔ; odwanhwɛfoɔ biara remfa ne nnwan nkɔ home wɔ hɔ.
21 And desert-dwellers have lain down there, And their houses have been full of howlers, And daughters of an ostrich have dwelt there, And goats skip there.
Nanso ɛserɛ so mmoa bɛda hɔ. Sakraman bɛyɛ nʼafie no mu ma; ɛhɔ na apatuo bɛtena, ɛhɔ na wira mu mpɔnkye nso bɛdi agorɔ.
22 And howlers—he has responded in his forsaken habitations, And dragons in palaces of delight, And her time [is] near to come, And her days are not drawn out!”
Mpataku bɛpɔ so wɔ nʼaban denden mu, sakraman bɛyɛ nʼahemfie fɛfɛ no mu ma. Ne berɛ aso, na wɔrento ne nna mu.
