Hosea 7

1 “When I give healing to Israel, Then the iniquity of Ephraim is revealed, And the wickedness of Samaria, For they have worked falsehood, And a thief comes in, A troop has stripped off in the street,

ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കുമ്പോൾ, എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ വെളിച്ചത്തുവരുകയും ശമര്യയുടെ കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങളും വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു. അവർ വഞ്ചന പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; കള്ളന്മാർ വീടുകളിൽ കയറുന്നു, കൊള്ളക്കാർ പുറത്തു കവർച്ച നടത്തുന്നു.

2 And they do not say to their heart, [That] I have remembered all their evil, Now their doings have surrounded them, They have been before My face.

എന്നാൽ, അവരുടെ സകലദുഷ്ടതയും ഞാൻ ഓർക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവർ തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല. അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ അവരെ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവയെല്ലാം എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പിലുണ്ട്.

3 With their wickedness they make a king glad, And with their lies—princes.

“അവർ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടതകൊണ്ടും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ അവരുടെ വ്യാജംകൊണ്ടും സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

4 All of them [are] adulterers, Like a burning oven of a baker, He ceases from stirring up after kneading the dough, until its leavening.

അവർ എല്ലാവരും വ്യഭിചാരികൾ, മാവു കുഴയ്ക്കുന്നതുമുതൽ അതു പുളിച്ചുപൊങ്ങുന്നതുവരെ അപ്പക്കാരൻ തീ കൂട്ടേണ്ട ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത അടുപ്പുപോലെ അവർ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നു.

5 A day of our king! Princes have defiled themselves [with] the poison of wine, He has drawn out his hand with scorners.

നമ്മുടെ രാജാവിന്റെ ഉത്സവദിനത്തിൽ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ച് ഉന്മത്തരാകുന്നു, അവൻ പരിഹാസികളുമായി കൂട്ടുചേരുന്നു.

6 For they have drawn near, Their heart [is] as an oven In their lying in wait—their baker sleeps all night, Morning! He is burning as a flaming fire.

അവർ ഗൂഢാലോചനകളുമായി അവനെ സമീപിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം ചൂളപോലെ ആകുന്നു. അവരുടെ വികാരം രാത്രിമുഴുവൻ പുകയുന്നു; രാവിലെ അതു ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിപോലെ കത്തുന്നു.

7 All of them are warm as an oven, And they have devoured their judges, All their kings have fallen, There is none calling to Me among them.

അവർ എല്ലാവരും അടുപ്പുപോലെ ചൂടുപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഭരണാധികാരികളെ വിഴുങ്ങുന്നു. അവരുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും വീഴുന്നു, ആരും എന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

8 Ephraim! He mixes himself among peoples, Ephraim has been an unturned cake.

“എഫ്രയീം യെഹൂദേതരരോട് ഇടകലർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എഫ്രയീം മറിച്ചിടാത്ത ദോശപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

9 Strangers have devoured his power, And he has not known, Also old age has sprinkled [itself] on him, And he has not known.

വിദേശികൾ അവന്റെ ബലം ചോർത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞു, പക്ഷേ, അവൻ അത് അറിയുന്നില്ല. അവന്റെ തലമുടി അവിടവിടെ നരച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, എങ്കിലും അത് അവൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നില്ല.

10 And the excellence of Israel has been humbled to his face, And they have not turned back to their God YHWH, Nor have they sought Him for all this.

ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരം അവനെതിരേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു, ഇങ്ങനെയൊക്കെ ആയിരുന്നിട്ടും അവൻ തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല; അവിടത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

11 And Ephraim is as a simple dove without heart, Egypt they called on—[to] Asshur they have gone.

“എഫ്രയീം അനായാസം വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന വിവേകമില്ലാത്ത പ്രാവുപോലെ ആകുന്നു; അവർ സഹായത്തിനായി ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്കു വിളിക്കും; അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ അവർ അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കും പോകും.

12 When they go I spread over them My net, As the bird of the heavens I bring them down, I discipline them as their congregation has heard.

അവർ പോകുമ്പോൾ, ഞാൻ അവരുടെമേൽ എന്റെ വലവീശും; ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെന്നപോലെ ഞാൻ അവരെ താഴെയിറക്കും. അവർ പക്ഷികളെപ്പോലെ കൂട്ടംകൂടുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കും.

13 Woe to them, for they wandered from Me, Destruction to them, for they transgressed against Me, And I ransom them, and they have spoken lies against Me,

അവർ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുകയാൽ, അവർക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം! അവർ എന്നോടു മത്സരിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാൽ അവർക്കു നാശം! അവരെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കാൻ ഞാൻ അതിയായി ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു പക്ഷേ, അവർ എനിക്കെതിരേ വ്യാജംപറയുന്നു.

14 And have not cried to Me with their heart, but howl on their beds; They assemble themselves for grain and new wine, They turn aside against Me.

അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽനിന്ന് എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നില്ല, പിന്നെയോ കിടക്കകളിൽ വിലപിക്കുന്നു. അവർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ മുറിപ്പെടുത്തി അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, അവർ ധാന്യത്തിനും പുതുവീഞ്ഞിനുംവേണ്ടി ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടുന്നു എന്നാൽ അവർ എന്നിൽനിന്നും അകന്നുപോകുന്നു.

15 And I instructed—I strengthened their arms, And concerning Me they think evil!

ഞാൻ അവരെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ച് അവരുടെ കൈ ബലപ്പെടുത്തി, എങ്കിലും അവർ എനിക്കെതിരേ ദോഷം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു.

16 They turn back—not to the Most High, They have been as a deceitful bow, Their princes fall by sword, From the insolence of their tongue, This [is] their derision in the land of Egypt!”

അവർ തിരിയുന്നു, പക്ഷേ, പരമോന്നതങ്കലേക്കല്ല; അവർ കേടുള്ള വില്ലുപോലെ ആകുന്നു. അവരുടെ നിഗളവാക്കുകൾനിമിത്തം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴും. അങ്ങനെ ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശത്ത് അവർ പരിഹസിക്കപ്പെടും.
