< Hosea 13 >

1 “When Ephraim speaks tremblingly, He has been lifted up in Israel, When he becomes guilty in Ba‘al he dies.
Ie nisaontsy ama-nevenevetse t’i Efraime le nonjoneñe e Israele ao, fe nizoeñe te aman-kakeo ty amy Baale, vaho nihomake.
2 And now they sin, And make for themselves a molten image of their silver, By their own understanding—idols, A work of artisans—all of it, Of them they say, who [are] sacrificers among men, The calves let them kiss.
Ie henanekeo, mitolom-pandilatse avao, nampitranake saren-draha ami’ty volafoti’ iareoo, ty amo hilala’ iareo, toe samposampon-draha, fitoloña’ ty kante; anoa’iareo ty hoe: Angao horofa’ o mpanao soroñeo i bania rey.
3 Therefore they are as a cloud of the morning, And as dew, rising early, going away, As chaff tossed about out of a floor, And as smoke out of a window.
Aa le hanahake ty zono maraindray iereo, naho i mika am-pangoàñ’andro mihelañey; hambañe an-kàfo’e asiotsion-talìo boak’an-toe-pifofohañe eo, vaho hatoeñe boak’an-toñak’ ao.
4 And I [am] your God YHWH from the land of Egypt, And you do not know a God besides Me, And a Savior—there is none except Me.
Fa izaho Iehovà Andrianañahare’o boak’ an-tane’ i Mitsraime añe; aa le tsy hahafohin-drahare ila’e nahareo naho tsy Izaho; fa tsy eo ty mpandrombake naho tsy Izaho avao.
5 I have known you in a wilderness, In a land of droughts.
Napotako an-dratraratra añe irehe, an-tane kankañe añe.
6 They are satiated according to their feedings, They have been satiated, And their heart is lifted up, Therefore they have forgotten Me,
Ie nifahanañe le niboboke, toe nianjañe, le nikavokavok’ an-troke, izay ty nandikofa’ iareo ahy.
7 And I am to them as a lion, I look out as a leopard by the way.
Aa le liona am’ iereo iraho henaneo, hanampohako hoe farasy añ’olon-dalañeo.
8 I meet them as a bereaved bear, And I tear the enclosure of their heart, And I consume them there as a lioness, A beast of the field tears them.
Hipoke am’iereo iraho hoe dòbe mandala handrimitse ty saron’arofo’ iareo; vaho habotseko hoe liona; ho rimiteko hoe biby hako.
9 You have destroyed yourself, O Israel, But in Me [is] your help;
Ry Israele, mampianto vatan-drehe, fa amako ty fañolorañ’azo.
10 Where [is] your king now—And he saves you in all your cities? And your judges of whom you said, Give a king and heads to me?
Aia ty mpanjaka’o handrombak’ azo an-drova’o iaby? Naho o mpizaka’oo nanoe’o ty hoe: Añomezo mpanjaka naho roandriañe?
11 I give to you a king in My anger, And I take away in My wrath.
Tinoloko mpanjaka irehe ami’ty habosehako; vaho nasintako ami’ty fifomboko.
12 Bound up [is] the iniquity of Ephraim, Hidden [is] his sin,
Mifamahotse ty tahi’ i Efraime, mihaja ao o hakeo’eo.
13 Pangs of a travailing woman come to him, He [is] not a wise son, For he does not remain [at] the time for the breaking forth of sons.
Hivotrak’ama’e ty fitsongoan’ ampela; ie ana-dahy tsy mahilala, tsy ho nihenekenek’ ambavan-koviñe ao.
14 Will I ransom them from the hand of Sheol? Will I redeem them from death? Where [is] your plague, O death? Where your destruction, O Sheol? Comfort is hid from My eyes. (Sheol h7585)
Ho jebañeko ami’ty haozara’ i Tsikeokeokey hao? ho vilieko aiñe amy Havilasiy? O Havilasio, aia o angorosi’oo? O Tsikeokeokeo, aia o fandrotsaha’oo? Mietak’ amo masokoo ty tretre. (Sheol h7585)
15 Though he produces fruit among brothers, An east wind comes in, a wind of YHWH, From a wilderness it is coming up, And it dries up his fountain, And his spring becomes dry, It—it spoils a treasure—every desirable vessel.
Ndra te ie mibodobodo amo vindao, ho avy ty tiok’atiñanañe; hivovo boak’ am-patram-bey ao ty tio’ Iehovà, le ho maike i rano’e manganahanay, ho ritse i loha-rano’e nigoangoañey, ho haofe’e ty an-driha’e ao hañakatse ze hene vara’e sarotse.
16 Samaria becomes desolate, Because she has been rebellious against her God, They fall by sword, Their sucklings are dashed in pieces, And its pregnant ones are ripped up!”
Ho vave’ i Somerone o tahi’eo, amy t’ie niody aman’Añahare’e; hampikorovohem-pibara; ho demoheñe an-damilamy o anak’ ajaja’ iareoo, ho boraheñe an-drimitse o rakemba mivesatseo.
